RULES OF ENGAGEMENT

A blogger who calls himself Nameless Cynic commented on my "Pretend You're A School Kid, Which Guy Would You Relate To?" post.

Seemingly, some comment of his failed to appear and NC has accused me of deleting it (or them...as the case may be).

First of all, I have NEVER deleted one of his comments...yet.

Secondly, if I had, so what? It's my blog and I do what I want on it, just as he does what he wants on his. (But I did NOT delete his comment in this, or any other instance...yet).

Thirdly, in case you did not know it, I have some rules of engagement on this blog. They are clearly listed in the right panel.

Look, if I routinely allow the kookie leftist prattle of people like Xavier Onasis and Shaw Kenawe, why would I discriminate against someone I've never heard from before (as far as I can remember)?

Old Namless Cynic made some subsequent comments, in which he castigates both me and Susannah. I didn't delete them...why would I have deleted the other. Answer: I did not.

Just so you'll know, I allow ("welcome" is too strong a word) people of different persuasions to comment on this blog. I would prefer that they engage in valid debate, but most of them do not have the intelligence to do so...they just say "liar" and call names.

I served as captain of my debate team at Stetson University umpteen years ago, and I know what debate is. That ain't it.

I also summarily delete comments containing profanity and vulgarity 'cause that's what I do. I figure if a person is not intelligent enough to speak English without swearing, he/she does not deserve space on my blog. I've even deleted comments from conservatives whose writing contained curses.

If you don't like that, tough cookies. Go somewhere else.

See, Amendment one of the Constitution does not guarantee you free speech anywhere and everywhere. It guarantees that the government cannot make a law that restricts your free speech. It does NOT say that I can't make one on my blog.

So I have made one.

Nameless Cynic, I hereby invite you to re-post your supposedly deleted comment(s) if you wish.
Otherwise, shut up and stop complaining. Say what you have to say and get on with it.

I have noticed that after commenting back to some of my readers that my comments were never posted. It's Blogger not the owner of the Blog.

People need to learn some patience and understanding. Poop happens, get over it.

You and Susannah both allow comments from both (all?) sides of the issues. But your rules are clearly printed in your side bar and even if they weren't - your blog, your rules. Just like anyone has rules about what behavior is acceptable in their homes. If people don't like your rules they don't need to comment.

Leticia: Some of my comments on other blogs have never appeared...and that on blogs that AGREE with me. It's not something I get all bent out of shape over like some people I know of (read: Nameless Cynic).

BetteJo: Some people just don't like rules that actually apply to THEM.

Joe. That is awfully big of you.

And thanks for informing us all of your self-proclaimed achievements as a debater.

Fortunately, I never mistake pomposity for erudition.

BTW: Blogger has implemented a new service for the comment section of your blog. I suggest you check it out. The missing comments will probably be there.

I don't get it. I never realized that any poster is so important as to garner a post dedicated to their importance. Did I miss a knighting or a crowning?

Joe! You're so cool! And again, I'm sorry if I added to the confusion. When NCyn's missing comments came across my email three times, I assumed they'd been posted & deleted. And you know, given their testy nature, I wouldn't have blamed you one bit. Mr. Cyn was not being very respectful.

Ablur - he was dubbed knight of the "verbose & just a little snide." Great party! Drop down a post if you want highlights!

Rock on, Joe!

If liberalism is so wonderful, why are all liberals so bitter, angry and abusive?

You're welcome. Nor do I.

Oh, and thanks for the tip.

ablur: I was just in that kind of mood...plus I wanted to take the opportunity to reiterate my rules and he gave me the perfect chance.

Susannah: Respect is not in their vocabulary.

LR: You know...I don't have an answer to that question except that maybe their mommas didn't nourish them well.

BTW: At SK's suggestion I checked out Bloggers "new" spam filter and comment "adjustments."

Being one of the most intelligent people I know, I was sure I would immediately figure them out.

Wrong.

I am still working on it and I WILL figure it out soon.

Trust Blogger (not a really good idea) to make things complicated.

SK: (Sorry about missing the "K" in my previous comment. It was probably my latent right-wing conspiracy mind set).

Do you consider your comment a proper element of either conversation or debate?

Well, Joey, in fact, I did rebuild parts of it on that other post, so, you know, you're welcome.

Not, of course, that you seem to have a good answer. Other than to claim that you didn't say stuff that you can scroll up the page to see.

You have an interesting grasp on reality, I have to admit...
