ON SHAMEFUL POLITICAL STUNTS

"The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs.

"It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt."

So said Representative Jan Schakowsky (D - IL) yesterday.

Let's see if I understand this thought process.

In 2003 two large protests that occurred in New York and San Francisco, between 222,282 and 333,839 Americans demonstrated for peace.

I wonder, Representative Schakowsky, were those demonstrations despicable?

Since the beginning of the Republic, the American village common has been the gathering place for Americans to share views, debate, muster militia, celebrate, and protest. The Mall between the Washington Monument and the Lincoln Memorial provides a dramatic backdrop for America's Common. Washington has been the scene for many major national gatherings since the end of the Civil War.

I wonder, Representative Schakowsky, were those demonstrations despicable?

The First Amendment says, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances."

I wonder, Representative Schakowsky, is that a despicable amendment?

Of course truth means nothing to Democrats.

They routinely lie to make their points.

They even lied about former president, George Bush lying, and did it so often that many Americans began to believe it.

So when Representative Schakowsky says that the demonstrations were fueled by Fox News, the fact that this is a lie makes no difference at all.

See, for many of our Democrat politicians, something is true simply because it comes out of their mouths, whether or not it actually happened.

The fact that President BO's "plan" to cut taxes on 95% of Americans can't work because the numbers don't add up doesn't matter, because it came from his mouth, and THAT is what makes it true.

The "(cheapening) of a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt" is no doubt a reference to the original Boston Tea Party.

So, a demonstration today is a hateful cheapening event, no matter that it was undertaken by Americans who are concerned about the direction our country is taking?

Let me clear this all up.

Representative Jan Schakowsky, you and your ilk are despicable. You are cheap and insignificant. You are a shameful political stunt.

Get out of the way and let real Americans express themselves in a way that is fully in the spirit of the Constitution of the United States of America.

If you don't like my comments, Representative Jan Schakowsky, maybe you can call your friend, Janet Napolitano and have DHS come and get me.

Bring it on!

Liberals are in total panic mode. Less than four months ago, their guy was inaugurated president and this country appeared to be on the path to becoming a socialist utopia -- like North Korea. And allll the libs were joyous.

Suddenly, there are anti-government demonstrations all over the country, and their socialist utopia appears in danger of falling down around their ears.

Ghandi once said, "First they ignore you, then they ridicule you, then they fight you, then you win."

That is EXACTLY what is happening now! Some media outlets like the New York Times, chose to totally ignore the tea party movement. Other media outlets like CNN and MSNBC and ALL the lefty blogs ridiculed the movement by calling the participants "tea baggers" and right wing nuts. And it is no coincidence that the government came out with a screed attempting to link conservatives with terror groups and militias. Obama's people said he knew nothing about the tea party movement, but let's see him ignore the next big demonstrations on July 4th. One can only hope that he doesn't respond with the power of the police state.

You’ll get no argument from me . . . but you can bet that none of these people really cares what you or I think or say. They are so unbelievably arrogant; the only solution to our problem is to fire every sitting representative, and completely reconstitute the House of Representatives in 2010.

Lone Ranger and Mustang: I am with you both. I intend to work as hard as I can locally to see that no incumbent is reelected.

Even Connie Mack, a good man with values somewhat similar to mine, will be my target...why? Because he is milktoast, without passion and uses phrases like, "Well, I'm concerned..." instead of "WHAT THE * DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING...?"

---Now, that is an idea worth supporting....

Lets not forget a third of the senators are up for re election in 2010 and that needs cleaning up too!

I think any senator or representative who voted on the stimulus bill without reading it should be voted out of office. In other words all 535 of them.

Okay, so me going to Staples to buy poster board & markers, making protest signs on my den floor w/ my 6 yr old, calling/emailing some friends, getting in the car w/ my Mom & her neighbor, going to the nearest Tea Party site not knowing who/what or how many would be there when we arrived...Oh. Right. That was all part of a vast Right-wing billionaire funded conspiracy, 'fomented' (as Garofalo says) by Fox.

Oh, yeah. And it was all about 'hating the black man in the White House.' How about tell that to my friends Ken, Vernon & John: three of the strongest, MOST conservative, MOST politically active men in our county party - who are BLACK! (I'm watching & learning from them, btw.)

Oh, & that farce about 95% of Americans getting a tax cut? How about 50% of that 95% DON'T EVEN PAY TAXES!!! Where I'm from, getting a check frm the Govt. when you haven't paid anything is called WELFARE!!!!

(Oh, somebody wound me up tight today...Maybe I should go run around the block.)

Great post, Joe.
