BACK FROM THE HOSPITAL

I'm here, but I feel as though I've been run over by a Mack Truck.

I have three holes in my groin, two that go into veins and one that goes into the artery.

I have a hole in my neck, through which the doctor inserted a "camera" to look at the inside of my heart.

I also have a hole in my wrist...in the artery.

I have no idea what that last hole is for.

I was strapped to a table in the OR, so I wouldn't yield to the compulsion to "help" the doctor.

You cannot imagine the indignities endured in preparation for the ablation.

Dr. Estrada is a good electrophysiologist, and the next thing I knew, I was giving the recovery room folks as much trouble as I could.

Time will tell whether or not the procedure accomplished its goal.

I'm home, now, but exhausted.

I'll return to blogging later.

Oh, man! I can't imagine how you feel. Please try to stay out of the operating room from now on.

Mark: Trust me...as far away as possible.

Hope it works Joe. My mom had that last month for t arrhythmia and elevated heart rate. It got rid of the irregularity in the bottom chamber but created a new one in the top. Also didn't fix the heart rate which they were able to get under control finally after 3 weeks in the hospital with a combination of meds after experimenting different ones.

Pradaxa(in place of Coumadin)
Metoprolol-Beta Blocker
Multaq -for heart rate
Cardizem-Calcium Channel Blocker

So far so good. She went from 150 rate to 68.
2 weeks out of the hospital she fractured her ankle tripping over the dog bed.

Hopefully your ablation works, that's the best you can hope for.

All the best!

Lisa: When my heart was in the midst of acting up, I was having 35-40 beats per minute...not a good rate...and those were uneven, interrupted by frequent PVCs (Premature Ventricular Contractions).

This third ablation was to correct those PVCs.

As of now, it seems to have worked, as I feel stronger than I've felt in over 6 months, and my heart rate is close to 60 BPM.

I take metoprolol, sotolol,

Hope your mom does well!

Holy Medicine Cabinet batman. Wow that is quite a list Joe, Glad to hear you are feeling better.
I wonder if all those meds would be covered under Universal Health Care.

Oh my goodness! I had no idea what that procedure truly entailed.

I pray for a speedy and pain-free recovery.

God bless you and heal you my friend.
