CRITICAL MASS


I believe we have reached the point of critical mass.

What I mean by that is that we have ceded enough power to the federal government that there is no turning back.

The power has made them drunk and they will do absolutely anything to: 1)keep the power; 2) garner more power; 3) use that power to control the population (that's you and me).

This power is not exclusive to the Democrats.

This power has found its way into the Oval Office, the President's Cabinet, government bureaucracies, the Democrat controlled Congress, the Democrat controlled Senate and the Supreme Court of the United States.

The yielding of that power has reached the electorate, who are pleased to elect those who seek and know how to wield that power.

We have, in my humble, but correct, opinion, reached critical mass.

Yet people just sit back and let the education system fail, and are only concerned about themselves...What will it take to rise up and change this? How do we make people see the terrible condition of the highway we are traveling?

Robert: The only things I know to do are pray and get to the right people.

Somehow we have to convince the very people who brought us here that they have to accept responsibility and start moving to correct things.

The Declaration of Independence recognizes that there are times when people have to take control of, or overthrow a government to reform a nation system.

mainstream-chavez: I guess you were educated in the public school system. I did no such thing.

I did say that the Declaration of Independence advocates it.

Have you ever read it?

Here is the quote: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness."

What form of twisted logic did you use to get "overthrow" out of that?

That's exactly what you quoted in your comment and nothing else.

If that's the only quote of the declaration iof Independence you include in your, than what point were you trying to make?

The only point of that quote is the overthrow of the U.S. Government.

That's pretty clear, and I'm sure some NSA computer has already tagged your blog as suspicious.

mainstream: The point, of course, was that there are serious actions suggested by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence.

There may be, and I hope there are, many other remedies available to us, one of which I suggested, which was to put great pressure on our lawmakers, particularly those who got us into this mess.

I only advocated one: "...convince the very people who brought us here tht they..."

America is government of the people, by the people and for the people. When it is no longer that then it is no longer America. Want it or not, civil war may be on its way.

mainstream: Looks like Carter's double digit inflation and double digit unemployment married to Clinton's recession and Kennedy's Camelot to me.

And excuse me, but does not freedom of speech include our right to express our opinions on this blog?

I guess in some peoples' minds freedom is relative, what with NSA's tagging and all.

What on earth could be your motive for continuing to read the writings of a simple man like me when it obviously upsets you so.

Did you come here by accident, ignorance or with some different agenda?

You're welcomed, of course, as long as you can behave, but why torture yourself so?

Not upset at all. As a matter of fact, I'm quite elated we're having this discussion, and with a God-fearing Christian at the helm like Mr. Obama, I'm quite optimistic about our future.

He has a tough job ahead, tougher than the '30's, but God-willing, the U.S. will prevail again against the hardest of times.

Seeing Mr. President-elect Obama visit his daughter's school today makes me think, even stronger than ever before, God Bless America!
