GIMMIE! GIMMIE! GIMMIE!

Thanks to Government Gone Wild.

So...exactly how much should our government indebt our children and grandchildren to provide all of this?

Is there a line?

Where is it?

Who gets to draw it?

Liberals?

Over my dead body.

That's right - Joe.

And I've got just the piece of Chalk that will do the Job.

"Fact-bothering liberals"? You trying to converse in vernacular?

Not working.

Joe, you ready to give up your benefits? Of course not. How do we resolve this?

Ducky's here said...

Joe, check this guy out online. He used to run Florida real estate "seminars".

So what we have to do is something like attend Armando Montelongo's Mega Millionaire Event? Flip This House !

Dearest Bojangles Drakelet's here,

I pixellated 'Libruls' not 'Liberals' - there is a superultramega heterogeneity between the two.

And it's 'converse in the vernacular'; the definite article is required here.

Get your fact-bothering facts straight!

At first you were slightly amusing but you're becoming tedious. Don't you have a mirror you can talk to?

"....At first you were slightly amusing but you're becoming tedious....."

I know!
I can't seem to fix it though.
I'm only as good as those who 'set-me-up' I need genius to effectuate my genius.
Quid pro quo and all.

"....Don't you have a mirror you can talk to?...."

I've no mirrors. I have, however, a limpid pool - but I keep falling into it!

Wait a minute!
I'm still big and amusing!
It's you, your Librul comrades and the Internet that got small and grave.

Aqurius, is that last one a lame riff on Sunset Boulevard?

Joe said...

To All: Cheese! I go off for a day at work and look what you've done to my comments section!

Ducky: I live in Florida. Florida seminars are important to us.

Sell that land!

Besides, what has what he used to do got to do with what he espoused in the video?

Ducky's here said...

Because, Joe, the fact that he ran a real estate scam goes to character.

Be careful.

Dearest Bojangles Drakelet's here,

Yes.
Yes it is.
I do not see the lameness though - I considered it to be quite ambulatory doncha know?

And Mr. Holden is resting at the bottom of my limpid pool - you know, the one into which I keep gazing then falling?

Joe, I thought this was from the Onion.

I love his graph about people who pay no taxes.

You know who pay no taxes? PEOPLE BELOW THE POVERTY LINE!

Look at the biggest spike under George W. Bush and how he conveniently stopped the graph with what Obama inherited.

The abject and willing stupidity of the right wing both astounds and amuses me.

They think everyone else is as ignorant and gullible as they are.

Umm, no. We aren't.

Conservatives are just petty and silly.

They live in a cave man, stone age world.

If they had their way about it, we never would have moved from a primitive, hunter-gatherer lifestyle to more settled, agricultural, domesticated lifestyle.

In the mind of a conservative, society itself is a bad thing.

The concept of a society requires that we view each other as equal members of a collective group, interdependant upon one another for our success or failure.

The True Conservative would prefer to be in a cave, alone, with as much food and as many weapons as possible telling everyone outside the cave (both individually and internationally) "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!"

The liberal approach would be "Hey, I've got something you need, you've got something I need.

Let's work out an exchange where we both come out with more stuff than we had and less stuff than we need!"

XO: "The liberal approach would be 'Hey, I've got something you need, you've got something I need.

Pure capitalism.

I have something you need: product.

You have something I need: money.

"You can get anything you want out of life if you help enough other people get what they want out of life" Zig Ziegler, master salesman and capitalist.

Just because an exchange is money and not barter does not make it less of an exchange.

I need your money so I can buy product for myself. You need my product so you give me money.

Meanwhile, you earn money so you can buy stuff and I earn money so I can buy stuff.

It's a wonderful system and works better than any other ever conceived.

And in America, anybody can partake of it to whatever degree he/she wishes.

While we are trying to phase capitalism out, the rest of the world is beginning to see the light (with the exception of the many failing dictatorships and parts of the Middle East).

-------

The contemporary fringe right thinks it exists in a vacuum. All society means to them is social security and medicare payments to layabouts.

No, barter.

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - There is a difference between Barter and Capitalism.

Barter is an exchange of mutually agreed equal value products or services. It's fair.

Capitalism is inherently unfair.

In Capitalism, the whole idea is to purchase a product for less than it is worth (thereby stealing from the seller), only to turn around and sell the same product to a buyer for more than it is worth (thereby stealing from the buyer) and pocketing the proceeds of both thefts.

The less value added between the two transactions, the more efficient the business.

The most efficient and profitable Capitalistic transaction is one in which no value is added at all and profit is generated through the illusion of value.

That's called marketing.

The people most susceptible to marketing are those who yearn for simple answers to complex questions.

People who see the world as "this" or "that" with no shades of gradiation between the two.

People who the lack critical mental skills to analyze complex objective data and reach independant conclusions.

I'm speaking, of course, about Conservatives and Republicans.

It's no wonder that they are the most ardent supporters of Capitalistic institutions like Private Equity firms and regressive taxation policies like the Capital Gains tax rates.

XO: Thank you for the lecture. It proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that you are both ignorant about capitalism and hypocritical in your stance on it.

Why do you buy anything on the free market?

Why don't you barter your car, your house, your food, your clothes and all the other stuff you have?

Barter is the most inconvenient and unworkable system for an economy, personal or national, in the entire universe.
