"What negatives did he present as positives"?

For starters how about his engineering like getting those occupier dopers to do his social agenda for him like taking down the banks, the housing market and Wall Street! ... Look around, hes getting exactly what he wanted, transference and redistribution of wealth. Can't you see it? Can't you see that we are falling into a depression while these commies are grabbing all the money and the power for for themselves. Look at New York, look at Chicago.
Yoy want more negatives? I'll be happy to supply them if you are so dense that you have troubles finding them on your own. To anyone honest with themselves , it cannot be more obvious.

“Tools for economy to survive”???!!!??!? He has done more to destroy the economy than any president since we came off the gold standard. No, he didn’t “underestimate how tough it was going to be,” he knew it would actually be easy to bring about his Keynesian policies to destroy the nation’s economy so as to bring about total socialism.

I don't waste my time listening to anything Obama has to say on any topic.

He clearly and demonstrably doesn't know anything about economics, domestic or foreign policy, or anything else other than Marxism.

And to top that off, not only is he ignorant on virtually everything of importance, he is also a bonafide, card carrying dues paying Liar (he attends all the Liar meetings, and brings 3-bean salads to all the Liar picnics). He will say absolutely anything to anybody to forward his Marxist agenda. Without shame.

It's George Bush's fault, it's the Republican's fault, it's the Vast Right wing Conspiracy's fault, but never, ever HIS fault.
How anyone could like the way he is leading this country is far beyond me. But as we all know crap happens.

Z said...

What struck me was the prepared sea-going analogy...and how he can't control the WEATHER. As if he can't do more to help our economy by STOPPING the borrowing that's put us in debt forever.
It's all about what he can't control...not what he won't do.
And then it's back to blame....hopefully, the liberal rats will join us in deserting Obama's sinking ship in November 2012.

Hopey-Changey - "Can't you see that we are falling into a depression while these commies are grabbing all the money and the power for for themselves."

No, we are not falling into a depression. We were in a recession and heading towards a depression when Obama took office, thanks to 8 years of Dubya bankrupting the country. It was Obama's tireless efforts and Stimulus Packages that halted the slide towards depression and put us on the road to recovery. Look around. Unemployment is declining, economic indicators are heading back up. Things are looking better everyday!

Fredd & Glenn - If the two of you really, truly believe that President Obama's goal is to destroy the American economy, forward his Marxist agenda and bring about total socialism then you might want to carpool together to the nearest mental health clinic and get yourselves a full neurological work up, because I suspect you may have a brain tumor.

Malcontent - Yes. It was Dubya's fault. Obama's entire term has been spent trying to avert the depression that Dubya had us headed for and pull this country back from the brink. Look around you. It worked. Things are improving. Obama was right.

Z - "the liberal rats will join us in deserting Obama's sinking ship in November 2012."

And vote for who, exactly??? You want to talk about "clowns", take a look at any given Republican Primary Debate. Those are your clowns right there. And there isn't a single one of them that is going to get any independent voters. They will get the far right fringe and that's it.

I can guarantee you Obama will get 4 more years. Best get used to the idea.

Jarhead - Oh yeah, that wasn't racist AT ALL. You do know this isn't 1930's Mississippi anymore, right? We're in the 21st Century now and there have been some changes. Get with the program.

Xavier Onassis seems to be another typical finger pointing liberal like Obama the Messiah. The Blame, blame.refusing to take responsibility name calling flaming Socialist.

The Untold Story said...

Xavier has blamed everyone on this board for Barack Obama's problems, mistakes,& screwups including George Bush and the Japanese Tsunami. And, he is really good at it, most likely because he's been saying it for a very long time.
But lets face it, this is what Democrats do best, excuse to culprit and blame everyone else. Obozo, our Liar in Chief has blamed Bush,Bohner, the Japanese Tsunami, the TEA Party and every other Republican so far! Will Hurricane Irene be nest!!
While he sends his stooges Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, and Joe Biden out to call us America Patriots Racist's, Terrorist's, Bigot's and whatnot.
Well The Marxist's comrades need to tell their “messiah” the blame game is not working any longer. We’re on to Obama and all the other Marxist thugs at the White House and what they’re doing to turn our nation into a Marxist controlled government.

The sooner the American people realize this, the sooner we can start turning America back to obeying the Law, God, and all of our American traditional values. And maybe then we can put a stop to the corruption that taking has been taking over our nation.

For the THIRD time in my life, I am not proud of my president… the other two were Carter, and Clinton. And now Obama…oops, look at that, they all are democrats…..fancy that!

Xavier Onassis said...

POI - Here's a little math problem for you. Let's say you and me take a little road trip. You're behind the wheel and you drive south for 8 hours. Then we switch seats and I drive north for 3 hours? Would we be back where we started yet? How many more hours would we have to continue driving north before we got back to where we started?

A Pissed Off Irishman said...

You lost me when you said that You and I would take a trip, I'd never take a trip with anyone like you. It be such a miserable trip for me.

But, I'll say one thing. You Sir, are very good at pointing fingers, at all others for the mess that we are in and for that, in and of itself I give you an A+. As for Obama, he wanted this job and he got it so stop with the "I Inherited this mess" BS, and start fixing things like a leader should be doing, and stop blaming everything and everyone. He looks like the skinny wimpy, snotty-nosed kid on the playground who whines and cries instead of getting in there and fighting back. This presidency is his own so it's time after 3 years to show use what you have to give us. You have not given us anything yet, except your golf game.
It's Very sad and pathetic to see a so-called leader of the once great and proudest Nation in the world act this way. It's a shame to see the president of the United States of America act so small and stupid, with a total lack of leadership, patriotism, and style.

And look like a president, not a basketball player in the school yard that always has a hamburger hanging out of his mouth..

Wasn't it Obama who said he was the only one who can fix this economy?
One minute he is acting like a big man/thug pointing fingers, now he is reduced to a sniveling little boy who to his own admission was not prepared for the job.
And people like XO's answer it to call the republicans clowns.
Meanwhile the jokers are the left wing media who give him a platform to say whatever he wants and defend it regardless of how idiotic he sounds.
This is why they hate talk radio and FOX because they want everyone to just believe whatever the liberal media spoon feeds the masses. Can't have any dissent against the Enlightened One who has the light shining down on him wherever he goes.

Ducky's here said...

Can we get a statement from the conservatives here concerning their opposition to Obama? I it the recession or the deficit that you are concerned about?

Deficit isn't his responsibility:
1. The fiascoes in Afghanistan and Iraq were put on the books. Chucklenuts had paid for them through supplementals.

2. The Bush tax cuts.

3. The recession which had started before he took office.

4. Tarp and the stimulus.

Now please note that No.4 started during the Chucklenuts administration. In fact Obama has been reluctant to use fiscal spending.

I invite Mr. Fredd who recently censored me on his blog because I stated that baggage handlers being paid 16-18 dollars an hour weren't the cause of the AA bankruptcy. He brags about his knowledge of economics so let's have his explanation.

The depression - Well in the world of folks like the The Toes Up Irishman I imagine it is explained by the CRA and anti redlining measures. Now these mortgages were written by regulated banks writing standard mortgages so we have to look elsewhere for the reason the entire American investment banking industry went teats up. Maybe The Toes Up Irishman can explain how he managed to tank it all in the space of a few months.

Ducky's here said...

Look around, hes getting exactly what he wanted, transference and redistribution of wealth. Can't you see it?

------

Hopey-Changey, the transfer is from low income to high income. It's pretty well documented that the share of wealth controlled by the middle and lower classes has shrunk.

Now what "socialist"(LMAO) policies have caused that upward shift.

Take advantage of the opportunity you have. There are liberals here who will help you live the life of the mind.

That sounds EXACTLY, word for word, what Sean Hannity might say. I'm trying to figure out how that could possibly be?

OH, WAIT! I've got it! Joe's picture of Mortimer Snerd was the clue! This is a ventriliquist act! Sean Hannity is the ventriliquist and you are his puppet.

Now it makes sense.

Xavier Onassis said...

Lisa - Oh, I watch Sean Hannity and Bill O'Reilly frequently. What better way to spy on the enemy?

The only thing I've learned is how expertly these Roger Ailes meat puppets are able to manipulate viewers, sow seeds of pseudo-facts and present opinions as truth.

What I find so sad and pathetic is how many people think that this divisive rhetoric is what our Founding Fathers wanted us to become.

If George Washington were with us, he might appear on Meet The Press or Face The Nation.

But he would never toss a toy football with Sean Hannity to the tune of a Lee Greenwood soundtrack.

A Pissed Off Irishman said...

Delusional Ducky and the rest of the Democrats complain or should I say spin the facts once again, this time saying that"Deficit isn't his responsibility" oh my good God, and once again we see him and the other wacko's on this thread again saying that that Obama inherited HIS catastrophic economic mess from George Bush. When will that line expire? The deficit is OBAMA'S fault. His outlandish spending is HIS fault, make NO mistake about it.
Are we dealing with a bunch of psychological misfits here?
Ducky and the names suits you perfectly, do you think that if you say Blame Bush often enough then people will believe it's so?

This blame Bush game line has really gotten to be tiresome. It has become a cliche that when said often enough they really believe it. It's nothing more than a stupid and adolescent Democratic game to detract from Obama's failures and it's not working. Debt is created by overspending, and you know very well that is exactly what Obama has been doing since day one. Why? Because It's his plan to bury America, and he's doing a great jot in doing that. It's the only good job that he has done at all.
I strongly suggest that Mr. Duck and his Big Mouthed cohort XO or OX or whatever, do a bit of research as I did and you’ll find that when the Obama, Pelosi regime regained control of Congress $2.03 TRILLION, was added to the National debt.
Obama took whatever debt and deficit he inherited and ran them up to monumental levels, and now he's maxed out the credit card for the last time. Stop trying to pass the blame onto people who have been out of office for years.
And now he’s going to increase the taxes on the wealthy, and what HE calls wealthy is a family making $250,000! Well when he does, just who in the hell do you think are going to pay for those increases?
You and I and the rest of the middle class through increased prices at the stores, in the trucking of food and supplies, household items, and everywhere else everywhere.
And with those increased taxes on the wealthy when they increase our prices, guess what we get to pay more in state sales tax. Bet you didn't even think of that did you Bucky. The poor people that you pretend to care all so much about will be even harder hit with the prices going higher, the larger the purchase number, you have to pay even more sales tax. And when the stores begin to feel it and business gets bad, guess what again, they lay off their employees. And UP goes UNEMPLOYMEMT. If you think thats not going to happen, think again, because if Obama get reelected, that’s exactly whats going to happen.!

Xavier Onassis said...

POI - During the presidency of George W. Bush, the gross public debt increased from $5.7 trillion in January 2001 to $10.7 trillion by December 2008. Where was all of the Right Wing Outrage over out of control government spending then?

There was none! You could hear crickets chirping.

I find it hard to believe that you are so gullible that you would defend millionaires who get by with paying a lower tax rate than you do.

"Don't make things hard on the rich folk or they'll just take it out on us!"

The Democrat posters only have insults left. They cannot deny Obama wasted his first two years and wasted trillions of dollars in new debt and filling union coffers. Blame all you want Democrats, you have made this mess now. Do you have anything besides insults?
Everyone knows that Pelosi and Reid. And especially Barny Frank and the entire
Fannie and Freddie bunch purchased billions of risky loans ,nearly 3/4 of new mortgages were going through F & F and bundled them to investors. The money that went to these banks allowed them to make even more risky loans. The end-result was that a lot more mortgage lending than would have otherwise taken place DID take place (the bubble argument, in other words............. Being that Fannie and Freddie were at least quasi governmental entities, most investors and lenders (justifiably, as it turned out) took for granted that the lines of credit would more than likely be unlimited....AND that they (Fannie and Freddie) would probably be bailed out if necessary.........
And as for the supecommittee , Obama wanted the supecommittee to fail from the get-go in order to make these cuts to the Pentagon. simply to fulfill another campaign pledge. Obama got what he's wanted all along by using the supercpmmittee , another way that he could blame the Republicans. Americans don't realize is that we cannot continue with the structure of the current social programs —- they are bankrupting our nation. No one gets something for nothing. Changes must be made, including cuts in spending.

Ducky's here said...

Toes Up Irishan, what is the cost of servicing the debt Obama has incurred?
Cost of debt service is the critical metric not size of the debt.

The current cost of debt is lower than the rte of inflation so we ain't going broke. Forget that nonsense and compare it to the 14% percent your idiot hero Saint Ronnie Raygun paid.

Time for you fringe right wingers to get economically literate. Buy a freaking vowel.

Ducky's here said...

-------------

Help me understand this Toes Up Irishman.

Someone pays higher personal income tax and has a method to pass those increases on as higher prices? Please explain.

It's crazy enough that the right wingers think businesses can simply pass them on but individuals?

Remember, if a business can merely pass the price on without any concern of losing share or becoming less competitive then we have monopoly pricing. Now if that's the case why wouldn't the company simply raise prices regardless of any taxes?

Surely that's exactly what a bright executive would do in a time of low demand. Right?

Think it through and come back when you are better prepared to address the class.

Their so called family values would be great, except Republicans are always too busy trekking across America sleeping with every woman in sight, or preaching about good old fashioned family values.
And just how many more times is Newt Gingrich going to cheat on his wives, before we believe that he has stopped? It takes a really stupid person to keep repeating their lies and expect the rest of the world to trust them.

Just because a man can't be trusted in one area of his life is no reason to suspect that he might not be trustworthy in some other area.

Right?

Craig said...

Do you have anything besides insults?

Hows about some facts.

Fannie and Freddie bunch purchased billions of risky loans ,nearly 3/4 of new mortgages were going through F & F and bundled them to investors.

3/4, eh. This is what Moody's assessment was in Dec. 2006.

Freddie Mac has long played a central role (shared with Fannie Mae) in the secondary mortgage market. In recent years, both housing GSEs have been losing share within the overall market due to the shifting nature of consumer preferences towards adjustable-rate loans and other hybrid products. For the first half of 2006, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac captured about 44 percent of total origination volume -- up from a 41 percent share in 2005, but down from a 59 percent share in 2003. Moody’s would be concerned if Freddie Mac’s market share (i.e., mortgage portfolio plus securities as a percentage of conforming and non-conforming origination), which ranged between 18 and 23 percent between 1999 and the first half of 2006, declined below 15 percent. To buttress its market share, Freddie Mac has increased its purchases of private label securities. Moody’s notes that these purchases contribute to profitability, affordable housing goals, and market share in the short-term, but offer minimal benefit from a franchise building perspective.

Fannie and Freddie were losing share of the secondary mortgage market. The mortgage lenders and banks were the big players. Moody's was concerned that F&F weren't buying enough (non-conforming)junk.

Stop pulling numbers from your arse to buttress your argument. It makes you look foolish.

I remember reading something about that.

From the Globe

Facts don’t necessarily have the power to change our minds. In fact, quite the opposite. In a series of studies in 2005 and 2006, researchers at the University of Michigan found that when misinformed people, particularly political partisans, were exposed to corrected facts in news stories, they rarely changed their minds. In fact, they often became even more strongly set in their beliefs. Facts, they found, were not curing misinformation. Like an underpowered antibiotic, facts could actually make misinformation even stronger.

They're powerless over their misinformed brains. Take pity on them.
