OH, your cartoon below is perfect, Joe..Good find!
Yes, it's OVER (except I had to file an extension for the paperwork)...it's paid and done...all they need is my signature by October. I'm good with that.
Felt odd doing all this without Mr Z, I have to admit.
Glad you're feeling stress off your back.

z: I'm still a little stressed that Tax Freedom Day was so far into the year: April 9th...almost all the way to Tax Filing Day...one third of the year for Uncle Sam, just for direct income taxes.

It might depress you farther if you sat down and figured out the real burden of government on you.

See my comment on your previous post.

ablur: Quite! We don't have a state income tax here in Florida, but we have a 6% sales tax, so the idea of a VAT is abhorent to me.

It is depressing.

Right now I'm so depressed that I want to jump out in front of a parked car.

Who says it's behind us? We had to file an extension, too.

Next year should be--interesting, to say the least.

The MSM's inane response to the TEA (TaxedEnoughAlready) Party protests is that "taxes are lower this year."

Obama's even joined in claiming credit for GW'S doings.

Fact is, this is a LOT like 1992, a year in which tax rates were still relatively low ansd sure to increase, signalling many high income earners (including Hillary Clinton, who took her Rose law Firm bonus within 1992 to save on the tax bite) to take more of their money (especially bonus $$$) UPFRONT to avoid the coming higher tax rates.

That created the misnamed "V-shaped shaped recovery,"....it's actually an "inverted V-shaped recovery."

Tax rates are going to rise steadilly after this year and the lower income earners are going to get socked....they just don't realize it, don't think it's going to happen and aren't going to be prepared for it.

The top 10% of income earners will simply DEFER more of their money in tax deferred vehicles.

Lower income earners won't be able to do that.
