As I wrote HERE:
ISIS (IS) is larger and more powerful than Al Quieda was before 9/11. They are steadfast in their goal. Here is their goal as expressed by one of their leaders:
"Americans should stop being “cowards” and attacking the Islamic State terror group with drones, the terror group’s spokesperson told Vice News, adding that the militants aim to reach the U.S.

“I say to America, that the Islamic Caliphate has been established,” Abu Mosa said. “And we will not stop.
“Don’t be cowards and attack us with drones,” he continued. “Instead send your soldiers, the ones we humiliated in Iraq. We will humiliate them everywhere, God willing, and we will raise the flag of Allah in the White House.”

Wait. Someone thinks we're ahead in Iraq?
And these people are our leaders.
God, help us.
and WAIT again; can we MENTION GOD in a blog anymore? :-)
Z: "... can we MENTION GOD in a blog anymore?"
How dare we? What do we think this is, a free country?
These guys see the world through the most rose colored glasses possible. And it's all STILL Bush's fault.
Why wouldn't you be able to mention God? Joe does it all the time and so do you, z?
There is no shortage of mention of God in this culture.
However, there is a shortage of discussion of the differences between al-Qaeda (which has been marginalized) and ISIS (a group considered too radical by al-Qaeda).
ISIS is a small group of fighters who get their strength from the Sunni population in Iraq which has been very ill used by the Maliki government.
Again, I ask the Quuen Bee and Joe, how is the so called caliphate going to reconcile Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Iran (not to mention others) when it can't even reconcile the major populations of Iraq.
I say they can't and all the pearl clutching by The Ladies Who Lunch won't make it any more likely.
Joe, do you believe the invasion of Iraq by president Bush was a good idea?
Myself, I think Obama has a mixed record in the Middle East.
1. He allowed the sectarian moron Maliki to steal from us and run on much too long. But let's see if the replacement is an improvement.
2. He has done well to lower the antagonism in our relations with Iran.
But I suspect you and the Queen Bee think this is easily solved by military action despite all evidence to the contrary.
Ducky: "there is a shortage of discussion of the differences between al-Qaeda (which has been marginalized) and ISIS (a group considered too radical by al-Qaeda).
"ISIS is a small group of fighters who get their strength from the Sunni population in Iraq which has been very ill used by the Maliki government."
You need to do a little more homework. All three of your assertions are incorrect.
