The Truth, the Whole Truth and Nothing But the Truth

I'm truly upset if this little dust up hampers Perry's presidential candidacy.

We were all waiting to see if he showed up sober for the debates and I oppose anything that lowers the entertainment value of the Teabag primaries.

look at that the guy doesn't debate well but he runs the largest state if the union with the most success and Obummer reads his TelePrompTer well, yet without it says "uh" about 50 times when he talks, but idiots voted for this disaster who is creating more poverty in this country especially amongst the black population and thanks to white liberals for telling them who to vote for

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa, don't be low information.
Remember, the left is here to help you live the life of the mind.

Texas government is modeled with a weak governor, the legislature runs the state and the governor decides who gets executed and parcels out a bit of graft. He doesn't "run" anything.

Remember the last Texas governor that slipped through?

Lisa said...

So the fact that states with republican governors fare best means nothing?
Yeah well who got slipped through the presidency.
Mr speechless when he has no teleprompter

Which states are those, Lisa?

Dave Miller said...

Sorry Lisa... Texas does not have a strong Executive branch like some of our other states... it is just a fact. And it is not a false fact, like the ones you once said you sometimes cite.

Based on your response to Ducky, I have a hard time understanding who the idiots are to whom you refer.

Your sentence, and I use that term loosely because it is really a run on series of words, is almost incomprehensible.

Regarding your point of GOP governed states doing well... some are, some aren't. But that type of thinking misses a crucial point. Many, if not most states have a constitutional duty to produce a balanced budget, no matter which party is in the governors mansion.

That simple mandate, which I support on a state level, ensures that those states will spend only what revenues will cover.

North Dakota, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota and Iowa have the ,have the lowest unemployment and

Tennessee, Indiana, Wisconsin, South Dakota and Arizona, have the lowest debt per capita

meanwhile Obama is spending us into oblivian

Dave Miller said...

Lisa... you seem to be saying that low unemployment can be traced to GOP governors, since the states you mentioned are all GOP states.

What would you say about the states with the highest unemployment in the nation that also have GOP governors?

States like Miss, Mich, Nev, Georgia, Alabama, and Arizona? You will notice that a lot of these states are southern, where the GOP regularly wins most elections and controls the state houses too.

That would seem to suggest that in those states, we are seeing exactly the results of GOP policies.

What are your thoughts on these facts?

Here's the link so you can see for yourself.

Lisa & Dave Miller - Don't forget Kansas!

Under that bumbling Republican idiot Sam Brownback, Kansas is a fiscal nightmare!

"Even in the make-believe world of Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback and other tax-cut advocates who like to ignore reality, Friday’s news about plunging state revenues was an utter disaster.

It was a disaster for several million Kansans who depend on tax revenues to pay for public services such as schools and roads.

And it was a disaster for Brownback as he gets ready to run for re-election.

The state said it collected $217 million less in taxes than it expected.

That came on top of being $93 million short of estimates in April.

In short, the state is bringing in less money because of lower taxes. Seems pretty simple to figure out.

Moody’s downgraded Kansas’ bond rating after April’s dismal report."

Thanks Z all ,they all believe that taking more money from hard working people equals success. We are talking about the top 10 states.Let's all not forget that under this president the poor have gotten waaaaay poorer and the rich way richer. You know that pesky little detail they couldn't keep quiet about under Bush.
Either way a Governor is way more qualified for the presidency than a Community Agitator although I don't believe he really knows what he is doing because we know Ms Jarrett is one of his puppet masters. Obama is just a figurehead thrown out there to charm the "folks" who were dumb enough to believe in his BS Change talk.
They are so dumbed down they will accept anything he does regardless of how negatively it impacts them.
Liberalism really is a mental disease.

Lisa, Z's link is growth from 1 quarter last year. N. Dakota, Texas, Wyoming all sit on shale oil and that accounts for most of their growth. You can cherry pick stats to show almost anything. Many of the states with highest growth were also hardest hit by the Bush recession and are benefiting the most from the recovery.

If you look at quality of life stats, things like education, personal income, rates of uninsured, etc., traditionally liberal states lead the league.

You have Minnesota on your list. We have had a Dem. gov., house and senate since 2010. When Pawlenty and the Repubs were in charge they had to use accounting gimmicks, pushed debt out to the future and robbed the education fund to balance the budget. Our infrastructure was falling apart, class size grew and test scores dropped. Gov. Dayton and the Dems have created a budget surplus, lowered unemployment, raised the min. wage, invested in education and infrastructure and lowered the rate of uninsured to under 5%. How mental is that?

Z, you are commenting here a lot. You miss Ducky don't you.

Dave Miller said...

No Z, Lisa is not right, and offered no defense of her position, a common thing with her.

Lisa posited that low unemployment rates correlate with GOP governors. The link I offered showed that not to be true, yet neither Lisa, or you for that matter chose to respond to that. Curious.

The link you provided, as noted by Craig, only took into account the last quarter of 2013. It did point out that economic activity has many variables.

The fact is, state economic health, and their budgets are far different from the federal budgeting system.

By and large, as I stated before, states are required to have a balanced budget, so giving a Gov and his, or her legislature credit for following the law, is superfluous.

It doesn't matter if a Dem or a Republican is in office or not.

Why does Piro always have the deer in the headlights look?

It's as if she's chanelling Palin.

Ducky's here said...

Yes, Kansas, the austerity laboratory.

Miserable failure but the "leftist media"(LMAO) pretty much glossed over it.

Ducky: "Why does Piro always have the deer in the headlights look?"

So you can attack the messenger instead of the message.

Why does Pelosi always appear to have a shortage of dopamine?

Dave Miller said...

Lisa, why are you unwilling, or unable to respond to any points directly related to your posts in a way that facilitates conversation?

Obama simply does not possess the skill, or the ability to lead ... he literally doesn't have the ability to do the job. We need an alpha and we got a self-centered, Spock-like putz. He thought that if he gave good speech, looked nice in a suit, said the right things that he could just breeze through his presidency (I honestly believe that's how he approaches being president). He's never liked being president ... but oh those perks, playing gold with big stars, and dancing , and partying with Hollywood celebs, having his Wookie appearing on all those late night TV show, all those goodies never seems to end! He just couldn't resist. I have never been more embarrassed of a president and more concerned at the lack of leadership. And ISIS is ALL on him, and on HIS watch! You can't Blame Bush for any of this. they grew and came to power under his watch, and the pity is that they are not finished yet.

FreeThinke said...

Dave Miller, whey do keep on believing the Bull CRAP that your messiah keeps saying??????????

Dave Miller said...

Rusty, why are you unable to comment without resorting to language that is offensive? Joe even has it on his opening page... if you are not man enough to control your language, you are not welcome here.

I'll be happy to respond to you if you give me specifics. Most people who know me know that while I did vote for Obama, he's not my messiah and I am not enamored with him, frequently finding fault with the way he handles his job.

Joe said...

Did nobody get it? Rosemary Lehmberg is the DA who indicted Rick Perry! Now why do you think she did that? Could it have been some kind of political bias or revenge? Is she the kind of person liberals think is worthy of the post of DA?

Perry did NOT do wrong in these instances, regardless of what you have read in the leftist blogs and media.

Joe said...

Oh...it was political retribution for the governor's attempt to remove a Ms Lehmberg who has a criminal record.

The governor had vowed to withhold $7.5 million from an ethics watchdog agency that was run by county District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg until she resigned as a result of her April 2013 drunken-driving charge.

She refused to resign and he took the action he promised.

Of course we should never REALLY keep our promises. Obama taught us that.
