Good one Joe.
With all the BS, Herman Cain is still running even at the top the field

I'm having trouble getting it to play, Joe, but the first words out of his mouth were pretty boilerplate.

"He has followed economic policies which have ruined this country".
Actually that's true. He and his team of Larry Summers, Timmy Geithner and the rest of the leftovers have certainly followed the same policies that have been in place since deregulation began.

Any of that tinkle down economics come your way, Joe?
Really, we went through all this under Ronnie Raygun you know, deregulating thrifts which had been doing a good job getting people mortgages just like Fannie had been doing before we privatized.
Problem was the robber barons weren't making enough money but after John McCain(R - Pole dancer's running mate) and others engineered a couple hundred billion dollar bailout they sure knew they liked this.
Then came Clintoon and Dick Armey (Tea Party founder) and we were off to the races.

Then he starts on about Iran and I know he's hitting the freaking crack pipe. But blame Obama. Bush starts two wars in the east, Iran wins both of them and we blame Obama.

It's all so sad.

Meanwhile I except the Cain/Perry bout to look like a bottle fight between a gypsy and a carny any moment. Bad for Cain, he doesn't have the infighting experience.

What you learn from radio talk shows depends on how wide and how deep the knowledge of the talk show host is. Some of them — Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, G. Gordon Liddy and others — are right on top of things.
Sometimes a well-informed and articulate guest like Condoleezza Rice or Alan Greenspan can provide some real insights to both the hosts and the audience. But these are the exceptions.

Joe, the man's a corporate stooge.

The leftist cannot destroy Cain when it comes to race without pulling the tired old 'Uncle Tom' bit which looks just awful, so instead they must make Cain look like some sort of sexual predator.

Never mind that the 'first black president' had a buried rape allegation, a confirmed adulterous sexual romp in the Oval Office which he subsequently lied about UNDER OATH, ect...

I ain't buying' it. Unless they prove that Cain is a philanderer without a doubt, I like him for the nomination.

Sorry Blackeagle, the left would love to see the Pizza Man run. However, Rick Perry, does not and he's going to rip the Pizza Delivery Man a new one.

Two minutes was all I needed to hear.

He has followed policies that have ruined the economy.

I'm sure he means ObamaCare, the stimulus and putting back some minor regs on the bankers with Dodd/ Frank. I agree with Ducky about Obama's economics team, but he ruined the economy? Three charts for the fact impaired.

I can't imagine Iran trying to set off a bomb in the U.S...in the Reagan admin.

They got caught, Perfesser.

Iran was involved in blowing up 241 American servicemen during the Reagan admin. That was in Beirut, so I suppose Ronnie gets a pass. 17, mostly Saudis, take down the WTC and kill 3000 Americans on W's watch while W holds hands with and french kisses Saudi princes. Obama has emboldened our enemies?

Somali pirates, dead. Bin Laden, Anwar al-Awlaki, and about 20 top Al Quida operatives, dead. Gaddafi, dead. Mubarak, gone. Zine el Abidine Ben Ali, gone. Haven't heard much from N. Korea lately. Iran has a new ally in Iraq though. Thanks, W.

Enhanced interrogation led to the killing of Bin Laden.

Not according to Ali Soufan,

the former FBI agent who was a central interrogator of Al-Qaeda suspects in the early days after 9/11...As detailed by Soufan, he was the first interrogator in 2002 of Abu Zubaydah for 10 days and was able to get significant cooperation from him. However, at that point a CIA contract interrogator was brought in and the argument was made that Zubaydah was holding back information....Soufan is categorical in saying that Abu Zubaydah was cooperating before the enhanced interrogation techniques were applied...Zubaydah was cooperating and when the enhanced interrogation techniques were applied he stopped cooperating.

Read it

That's 3 strikes in 2 minutes. I'm out.

Do you really think 'the left' would pull this out before the Republican primaries and not save it for the general if Cain was the candidate? The guy that takes his buddies to Niggerhead camp would be the last place to look.

I like him for the nomination.

Me too. Dear God, please let it be him.

So let me get this straight . . .
We're going to be "gifted" with a health care
plan we are forced to purchase and
fined if we don't,
Which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people,
without adding a single new doctor,
but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,
written by a committee whose chairman
says he doesn't understand it,
passed by a Congress that didn't read it but
exempted themselves from it,
and signed by a Dumbo President who smokes,
with funding administered by a treasury chief who
didn't pay his taxes,
for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect,
by a government which has
already bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,
all to be overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese,
and financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

'What the hell could possibly go wrong?'

If you voted for the current President in 2008 to prove that you aren't a racist, please vote for someone else in 2012 to prove you aren't an idiot.

If you're uninsured now and you get cancer, you get treated (you should). I pay for you because I have ins. I pay more because an uninsured person didn't have access to a check up with a primary care physician and early screening.

Which purportedly covers at least
ten million more people

32 million, according to the CBO.

without adding a single new doctor

There are scholarships, loan relief for docs, nurses, and PAs who practice primary care in under served areas. Ultimately, it's med schools, state boards and the AMA that have control over the number of docs.

but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents,

A bogus number pulled from the asses of Republicans on the House Ways and Means committee. The made up number included 'auditors and employees', not just agents. You got that wrong, too.

written by a committee whose chairman
says he doesn't understand it

Evidence, please.

passed by a Congress that didn't read it

I read it. Not all of it, but it was there for me to read. You could have.

but
exempted themselves from it

If you already have health ins., you're exempt. Get it?

signed by a Dumbo President who smokes,

That's relevant, how? Is Dumbo a reference to his ears or his intelligence? I think you're a Stupid Head.

funding administered by a treasury chief

It's administered by HHS.

for which we'll be taxed for four years before any
benefits take effect,

Here's a list of 29 benefits that have already taken effect. Unless you're a big indoor tanner, what additional tax have you paid?

bankrupted Social Security and Medicare,

SS can pay 100% until 2035 and 80% after, until the demographics change back (boomers die off). That's if nothing is done. It ain't bankrupt and it won't take more than a bump in the cap to fix it. Medicare is in more trouble because of rising medical costs. The CBO scored ACA to save the govt. $143B from 2010-2019. $1T the next 10 years.

overseen by a surgeon general
who is obese

Dr. Regina M. Benjamin is definitely over weight but she has nothing to do with the oversight of ACA.

financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

Republicans broke it.

So let me get this straight . . .

Ozzie, you didn't get one thing straight.

Ducky's here said...

ozzie679 - I wouldn't argue that there are problems with the Obama health care bill.

Some of them are merely continuations of issues present in a for profit system.

Let's take the lack of primary care physicians. Right now specialists are paid much more than primary care and the health care bill does nothing to change that. We still have the market rationing care and it's a tough problem to solve. Have other countries solved it?
I believe many have done better than ourselves and they have not used a completely profit based model.

As for the rest of your rant, well largely irrelevant and in the case of Social Security pretty much wrong.

However, we have to face up to the problems we have with health care costs. I don't think more "free market solutions" are likely to do anything but worsen the problem.

Joe, just out of curiosity.
Sowell mentions the recent alleged assassination attempt by Iran.

On one level he says we should be extremely concerned about the Iranian threat and on another level he talks about an incompetent operation that tapped a failed used car salesman who hooked up, first try, with a Federal informant. No assuming the whole thing isn't a ginned up entrapment to keep you fringies frightened of the scary Moooslims ... isn't Sowell presenting a very obvious contradiction?

Craig said...

Just to be clear. I'm not a big fan of ACA. A public option or single payer, Medicare for all, make much more sense. There are some good provisions in ACA and it's a start toward a sane, universal health care policy. I've always thought single payer will start at the state level. Watch Vermont.
