DEFLECTION REIGNS

Sean Hannity had Michelle Malkin and Juan Williams on to discuss the Affordable Healthcare Act.

Juan Williams is one of the very few more-or-less polite liberals in existence today.

But he IS a liberal and he practices liberal deflection tactics to avoid actually answering hard questions.

For instance, Hannity said:

"Let's see Juan, we have one article in investor's business daily today that the cheapest plan by 2016 is going to be $20,000 and that the CBO says that seven million Americans are going to lose their health insurance. What happened? Should I be upset over this or should we just accept that promises aren't fulfilled here? "

A direct answer might have been something like, "Well, $20,000.00 IS a lot of money, and we should probably take a closer look at what we can do to relieve families of 4 from that kind of burden."

But, no. Williams did not even address that issue. He deals instead with the "implemented in stages" aspect of AHA.
He said:

"I don't understand how it's any promise broken. I think everybody knows the affordable health care act is going to be implemented in stages, Sean and these things just like Social Security when it started, Medicare when started, Medicaid, they all have some difficulty in their starts."

Why doesn't he understand? Is he that dumb? Really? Does that address the issue of $20,000.00 for a family of four?

"...they all have some difficulty in their starts," therefore $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK?

No. If you study political science in school, one of the things you learn is how to use a lot of words to sound like you're answering a question while really not answering it at all.

He continued:

"What the CBO was saying was not everybody is going to sign up right away, and so some cases, you're going to have situations where there's a lack of coverage or there's an increase in cost of coverage, that's why there's an individual mandate but just takes time for that to be put in full place, that's why it's done over several years. "

What does that even mean?

So, let me guess what he meant.

"Not everybody is going to sign up..." so it will cost the average family of four $20,000.00 per year and that's OK.

"There will be situations where there's a lack of coverage..." so $20,000.00 for an average family or four is OK.

"There's an individual mandate," so $20,000.00 for a family of four is OK.

"It takes time to put in 'full place'..." (whatever the heck that means), so $20,000.00 for a family of four is OK.

"It's done over several years..." and that's why $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK.

After Michelle Malkin spoke about how liberals just ignore all the lies Obama tells, Williams said,

"Now, I think you're, I mean, you know, you're -- the sky is falling, the sky is falling, Obama is bad, but I'm just telling you that in fact what the CBO has shown is that the rate of increase in terms of health care spending in the country has gone down for the last two years, that's good news Sean, and I think that's part of the this process of putting in the affordable health care act. "

You're probably going to need some help understanding that statement as well, so here goes.

"The sky is falling, the sky is falling,..." therefore $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK.

"...but I'm just telling you what the CBO has shown..." (which was already stated by Hannity at the beginning) therefore $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK.

"...the rate of increase in terms of health care spending...has gone down..." therefore $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK.

"...I think it's part of the process of putting in the affordable health care act." (Another meaningless phrase.), therefore $20,000.00 per year for a family of four is OK.

(Watch the whole discussion HERE).

Lest you think Juan Williams is the only one who uses this nefarious tactic, take a look at Jay Carney answering questions about drones killing citizens.

Deflection is a typical tactic of liberals (even liberal RINOs). It is used in the comment section of this blog with unnerving consistency.

They really, really don't like answering questions that challenge them.

TL of BO - You Figure It Out

Once a person lies to me, I require him or her to provide me with a list of things on which he cannot be trusted as well as a list of those on which he can be.

President BO (the amateur president) has lied repeatedly, and refuses to provide me with any list at all, so I don’t know what to trust him on.

January, 2009: “The way to make government accountable is to make it transparent…”

Lie

January 2009: “… the rule of law will be the touch tones of this presidency.”

Lie

April 2011 (Defending DOJ’s lack of action): “In just over two years…prosecutors have filed criminal charges in five separate cases…”

Lie

“Every single American has the right to affordable accessible healthcare.” “These negotiations will be on C-Span.”

Lie

“If you have insurance that you like…then you will be able to keep that insurance”

Lie

“…I wouldn’t sign a bill that didn’t meet that criteria” (wasn’t without tricks)

Lie (The bill he signed will use 10 years of revenue in 7 years of spending. That’s not some kind of a trick?)

“It’s a plan that asks everyone to take responsibility for meeting this challenge.”

Lie (there are increasing numbers of exemptions. How is that everyone?)

“Nobody is talking about some government takeover of health care”

Lie

“It should never be purchased with tax increases on middle class families”

Lie

“… is absolutely not a tax increase…”

Lie (The administration took it to the Supreme Court in order to get it proclaimed a tax instead of a penalty, which SCOTUS did.)

“George, the fact that you’ve looked up Merriams dictionary (????) …indicates that you’re stretching a little bit now.”

Lie (Turns out it IS a tax increase. In fact, Obamacare has over 20 tax increases.)

“…under my plan, no family making less than $200,000 a year will see any form of tax increase…”

Lie

“…paying their fair share…”

Lie (GM paid none at all after a huge government bailout. GE paid none in 2010.)

“All of them have projects that are shovel ready…”

Lie

“…starting to turn the economy around…”

Lie (GDP – 2010: 3.0 percent. GDP 2012: 1.9 percent---that’s growth? In what universe?)

“I’m pledging to cut the deficit by half by the end of my first term in office”

Lie (it was $15 T when he took office. It is over $16 T now)

September 9, 2009: “I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits — either now or in the future.”

Lie.

July 13, 2012: “If you’ve got a business – you didn’t build that…”

Lie

Of course, that's just me speaking.

Let' let PBO (tap) speak for himself.

A PICTURE ALMOST AS GOOD AS HIS BIRTH CERTIFICATE

President BO (the amateur president) is just SO believable, isn't he?

Everything he says is just gospel.

Like now he is telling us he goes skeet shooting "...all the time."

That's true if you redefine "...all the time" to mean "never."

But wait!

We have an actual picture of him skeet shooting! And we know it's so, because the smoke is coming out of the barrel of the gun! (Pay no attention to the smoke shooting out to the right of the barrel.)

And he is so good!

He shoots at the skeet before it even makes it into the air! WOW!

OK! OK! Here's the picture!

His skill is further demonstrated by the way in which he holds the "shotgun." Of course, he's going to have a very sore shoulder, maybe even some bruises, by the time he is through for the day. Either that or he is the only person on earth who can fire a shotgun like that and not be hurt.

And everybody who has ever gone skeet shooting knows that you shoot at skeet by aiming the shotgun the same way you aim a rifle.

Oh, and never, never lean into a shot when firing a shotgun. Lean back a little from your body's center line so as to increase the likelihood that you'll be knocked on your posterior by the recoil.

But he already knew that.

He doesn't have to wear any headgear that might prevent the sun from getting in his eyes. Those manly looking sunglasses should be enough.

Am I dreaming, or does he have his cheek resting on the top of the gun butt?

Ouch!

I'll bet when he was finished he took his skeet home with him and roasted it for dinner!

Back when I was in high school, some "friends" of mine took me Snipe hunting.

Love Snipe for dinner, don't you?

THE HEALTHY CHOICE

Have an extra $20,000.00 per year?

According to the IRS, that’s what it’s going to cost a family of 4 (a man, a wife and 2 kids) in 2016 to participate in ObamaCare. That $20,000.00 is the cheapest plan that will be offered, called the Bronze Plan.

Back when I was self-employed, I paid $4,000.00 per year for a top-notch plan that covered my family of four pretty well. It was a so-called catastrophic plan and covered almost all hospital expenses (except for the wife’s extra meals, cold drinks, etc.).

Under ObamaCare, the only plans available will be comprehensive plans and the cost for a family of four is obscene.

Of course your family can opt out of the plan. ..if you don’t mind paying a penalty.

The same IRS report reveals that a family of four earning $120,000.00 per year would pay a penalty (which it still calls a penalty, even after the Supreme Court ruled it a tax, for Constitutional purposes). That penalty would amount to $2,400.00 in 2016. The family would still have to pay the premiums of whatever health care plan they went with in addition to the penalty (because “if they like the plan they have, they can keep it”).

And they won’t be able to purchase “hospital-only” insurance. That's been stripped from ObamaCare.

President BO (the amateur president) claimed that improved care coordination, investments in information technology and more efficient marketing through exchanges would save the typical family $2,000.00 per year.

PBO (tap) probably knows more about the plan than the agency he assigned to administer it, but IRS says it won't save $2,000.00, but will cost $20,000.00. That's a $22,000.00 differential!

Either PBO (tap) is not so good at math, he didn't know any better, or he knew it and forced it on us to show us who is boss. I guess we know, now.

Free health care that costs $20,000.00, free cell phones, free gas...there's just no end to the free things the federal government is willing to give voters by confiscating money from others.

There is a Healthy Choice we Americans can make, and it is not called ObamaCare.

SWINE

A commenter on an earlier post told me to warn people about some of the people mentioned in my posts with the warning: SWINE!

Actually, I refuse to do that for a very personal reason.

I am the founder of, and charter member of SWINE.

For the uninformed, SWINE stands for Seniors Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything.

It's a wonderful organization with a dynamic CEO (me), a uni-static membership (me), and a great history of accomplishing almost nothing.

We (meaning "I") are (meaning "am") actively recruiting members.

To be considered a member, one only has to leave one very indignant remark (preferably pro-conservative, but that is not a requirement) in my comments section, to have been born at an early age and to be able to express himself/herself in a clear manner.

Don't delay! Join now and receive nothing in return.

But wait! There's more!

If you are among the first 50 seniors to join, you will receive two nothings in return absolutely free (just pay separate shipping and handling.)

If you are not a senior, it is perfectly acceptable to lie about your age.

I know. If you are a conservative that will be a challenge. If you are a liberal, it will come easy to you.

(If you are too young, consider joining the youth auxiliary: Students Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything).

Act now, before the opportunity to join Seniors Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything passes like the gas from an...well, never mind.

Help bring home the bacon! Join Seniors Wildly Indignant about Nearly Everything.

Be a SWINE today!

A REAL SNOW JOB

Well, let me see if I can get this straight.

When unemployment was climbing toward its high mark, it was an economic emergency, a bad thing and was something we needed to take steps to remedy.

Then, when unemployment started to abate somewhat, it was hailed as evidence that the federal government’s policies were working under the “leadership” of President BO (the amateur president).

We also heard that the economy as a whole was experiencing growth. True, it wasn’t big enough or fast enough, but it was growth…more evidence of PBO (tap)’s expertise at governance.

Housing was “rebounding” and consumer confidence was micrometers higher than it had been.

GDP had grown by ½ of one percent, and it was clear that the recession, which actually ended several years ago, was finally coming to a practical end.

All of this was touted as great!

But a fly flew into the flawed ointment.

We now know that the unemployment rate has actually increased. Dozens of very large corporations have announced layoffs in the thousands. 169,000 people have dropped out of the labor force. Job growth has not really been able to keep up with population increases. The economy has “contracted.” The GDP is stagnant. And consumer confidence has hit a two year low.

But fear not, O Gullible Public. Whereas these indicators were BAD things that needed correcting, they are now being declared GOOD things, indicating that the economy, while shrinking, is growing.(?)

AP news has referred to the apparent set-back as upbeat.

It is upbeat that poverty is up. It is upbeat that middle class incomes are down. It is upbeat that one in five Americans is on food stamps. It is upbeat that the GAO says our deficit is “unsustainable.” It is upbeat that the labor force has shrunk to a thirty-year low since President BO (the amateur president) took office.

If a ceiling fan spun this fast, it would disintegrate before our very eyes.

NBC’s Chuck Todd has helped us understand all of this, explaining that the collapse of the GDP is due to the federal government not spending us into bankruptcy at a fast enough rate.

Uh…Chuckles, would you please snow that again. I didn’t get the drift.

Good is bad and bad is good.

Interesting.

One might be tempted to think somebody had been reading Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”

But probably not.
