Rehired (Reinstated? Unsuspended?)

Just as some of you really, really wise liberals pointed out, Phil Robertson’s comments about homosexuals that got him fired from A & E were not so offensive after all. They've reinstated him, as well they have a right to do.

But that didn't make everybody happy. CNN, that bastion of fairness and objectivity, reports: “…And GLAAD is angry that he compared homosexuals to terrorists or at least used them in the same sentence.”
What old Phil really said was: "We just love 'em, give 'em the good news about Jesus — whether they're homosexuals, drunks, terrorists."

See, from the get-go that was not an offensive remark toward homosexuals, drunks OR terrorists. It was, in fact, an expression of love for them, if not for their behavior.
We have gotten to the point in our America that certain speech is severely limited not based even on what it says, but the political bent of the one speaking.

To be sure, A & E was well within its rights to fire (or suspend) Robertson for whatever reason it wanted to. It was also within its rights to reinstate him.
The POINT OF THIS POST, though, is that good old CNN could not bring itself to actually tell the truth. They had to spin the story to mislead people about the nature of the perceived offensive remarks. CNN said that Phil had COMPARED homosexuals to terrorists. He did no such thing.

But in today’s hypocritical climate, it is perfectly OK for a news organization to twist stories and lie about them, as long as it fits the leftist agenda to do so.

GLAAD's stated reason for being angry was "he compared homosexuals to terrorists". Reporting that is, somehow, lying? Or bias? That's stretch even for you.

I couldn't care less what Phil thinks about anything or the fate of their duck show but you have to admit that he didn't lump gays in with philanthropists and nuns. He has them on a list with those that need saving on a par with drunks and terrorists.

It's good to know Phil loves terrorists. Love the terrorist, hate the terrorism. An important lesson for us all.

Joe - I don't know if it's just the leftists doing it but it's true that news stories are being twisted around and are not wholly reliable.

Joe, have you watched Phil's clip about the need to marry 15 year olds?
Its out there with a lot of great stuff from this guy.

A&E knew exactly what this guy is and his inanity hadn't drawn much attention until recently.

Then, just in time for the new season mind you, this interview draws fire, Duck Dynasty merchandise flies off the shelves (you get a baseball cap, Joe?) and the viewer base gives the show a lift at the point in the life cycle where ratings often decline.

You've been played Joe by a guy who has made a fortune manufacturing things for men to blow. Ironic isn't it?
