ROMNEY'S "BIG" GAFFE???

While campaigning in his home state, Mitt Romney had the unmitigated gall to point out that no one had ever asked him for his birth certificate.

The MSM went absolutely nuts!

They are doing their best to make this a capital offense, politically.

What numchucks!

You people (by "you people," I mean ignorant liberals) are without merit.

Even Obama has quipped about "birthers."

For him to do it was funny (although I missed the humor...it didn't make me laugh, just roll my eyes).

For Romney do do it is P inC (Politically Incorrect).

What nut-jobs liberals are!

What hypocrits!

What fools!

Well, guess what? Nobody HAS asked Romney for his birth certificate, but if they did, he would show it immediately, would not photo-shop it and would not be reluctant to be proud of it.

He's a real man.

President BO (the child president) is not.

He is a would-be despot who is ideologically contrary to everything America has been since its founding.

MDR: Yeah. I am SO sad that they didn't like it. I mean, I really care!

But it's find and dandy when a ding-bat blogger writes this!

"WILLARD ROMNEY: Classless AND a Birther!"

Yes, THIS is a gaffe, but Joe Biden's are not.?

When we consider the ridiculous and inconsequential things the leftwing media finds on Romney and Ryan, we know just how squeaky clean these guys are.
Unless you don't think it's just fine that Paul Ryan dated a black girl before his wife, then they get outraged and must bring it out with comments about "think the GOP will go for THIS?"

Um...you mean the same Republicans who liked Cain and who adore Alan West? Tell us why Republicans would have a problem with that!?
Am I missing something?

You really don't get it, Joe. Nobody has asked him because the left doesn't wallow in batcrap insane conspiracies. Obama released his birth cert. in 2008, the same kind my state issues. The same kind I showed to renew my passport. No ones asked because that would be an unprecedented request of a pres. candidate. At least until the black guy won.

I don't think it's a huge gaffe, just stupid. Especially for someone who pals around with full blown birthers.

Even Obama has quipped about "birthers."

You don't think there's a difference between joking about a moronic conspiracy when you're the target and doing it when you're perpetuating the thoroughly debunked, idiotic, racist conspiracy?

He's a real man.

President BO (the child president) is not.

Obama and Biden have released 12 years of tax returns, which has been the standard for the last 30 years. When will the "real man" show his? He's hiding something.

Um...you mean the same Republicans who liked Cain and who adore Alan West?

"Some of my best friends are black". The last refuge.

Joe's chains comment dominated the news cycle for 3-4 days. Another case of selective amnesia.

Ducky's here said...

I'm surprised he dropped that one.

He's got enough problems with the party position on choice and birth control without lathering up the birthers.

Guy is a real loose cannon.

Obama joked plenty about the birth certificate as well. I think Romney s smarter than to make a gaffe like that. I think it was intentional, not to rile up the so called "birthers" but to rile up the left wing media being they could always use new, useless material.

Z: Inconsistant thy name is liberal.

Craig: "...left doesn't wallow in batcrap insane conspiracies."

Yes they do, but they aim at conservatives.

The left doesn't wallow in batcrap insane conspiracies? Really? How about the Truthers? Of course, if you believe that the Bush administration was behind the 9/11 attacks, you aren't considered a nut, you are appointed Obama's environmental czar. And then there were all those rumors about the Bush administration setting up concentration camps across the country and W's plans to cancel the election. How about the monthly predictions that Bush would bomb Iran? Nope, the left doesn't do that.

The reason liberals don't learn from their mistakes is that they never admit making any.

Liberals don't debate, they argue.

First, I erred in my statement. There are fringe conspiracy theories from both sides. I'm talking about conspiracies traded in by, supposedly, responsible members of a political party or representatives of an ideology. Birtherism has been pushed by a major cable "news" org., internet sites like World Net Daily and Drudge, members of congress, and Republican candidates for pres. Birthers are scheduled to speak at the Repub. convention.

As to Van Jones, here's what happened,

Van Jones:... I believe that 9/11 was a conspiracy by Al-Qaida and Osama Bin Laden, and nobody else, trying to hurt America. What happened to me on that tough lesson learned for me, six years ago, I was at a conference, some people came up to me. They said, 'Hey, we represent 9-11 families.' I'm like, 'OK, good to meet you.' They said, 'We need your help. Will you help us?' I said, 'Sure, whatever you want.'

And then these people, I didn't know what their agenda was, they went and put my name on some abhorrent, crazy language they never showed me, I never saw.

A statement from 911Truth,

On July 27, 2010, the group 911truth.org released a statement that they had "researched the situation and were unable to produce electronic or written evidence that Van agreed to sign the Statement"

The Truthers are led by people like Alex Jones, hardly a lefty.

Bush administration setting up concentration camps across the country

I've heard Michelle Bachman make that charge against Obama. It may have happened from the left but it didn't make much of a splash.

W's plans to cancel the election

Best selling author, Dr. Jerome Corsi. I've also seen comments here at Joe's make that charge against Obama.

How about the monthly predictions that Bush would bomb Iran?

Gee, I wonder why. Dick Cheney, Eric Edelman, Robert Kagan, Dan Senor, John Bolton, Eliot Cohen, Michael Hayden, Cofer Black, Max Boot, and influential idealogues like Bill Kristol and Norman Podheretz, to name a few, had all advocated use of force in Iran. Still do and they're in Mittens inner circle. And who can forget John McCain, bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran. Catchy.

... and Craig managed to leave out the likes of Michael Savage, Glenn Beck and other rabies radio hate mongers.

There is absolutely nothing on the left of the scope of the fringe right crazy machine. Absolutely nothing.

What's scarey is that the fringe right is no longer on the fringe. It's the mainstream Republican position. The Republican platform just passed includes things like returning to the gold standard, eliminating the mortgage tax deduction, no abortions ever for any reason, including rape, incest or mother's health. And this gem,

Let us give thanks to our Judeo-Christian God for the Republican Party. It is the only thing standing between us and the triumph of sharia in our land.

Creeping Sharia. They heard about it through the fillings in their teeth.

Pretty amazing that Romney can't even make a small quip without it being turned into a big deal - while the president of the United States insults the American people regularly and tells bald faced lies all the time without consequence. Everything is upside down these days.

Craig - "Let us give thanks to our Judeo-Christian God for the Republican Party. It is the only thing standing between us and the triumph of sharia in our land."

As far as I'm concerned that plank in the GOP platform is enough to say "You're out. You don't get to participate in the election because you're just too stupid."

I know there is no Constitutional grounds for that. But there ought to be.
