A STRANGE NEW MATH

Here are the words of President BO (the child president):

"...But if you ask most wealthy folks here in Dallas or around the country, they'll tell you, 'You know what? I...I wanna make sure that I'm doing my share for America to succeed.'

"Somebody's gotta ask.

"Some Republicans in congress, they're already dusting off  the old..the old records, 'That's class warefare!'

"Let me tell you sumpin': Twenty-six years ago...som...some of you may have seen this on television...clip's been circulatin'...twenty-six years ago another president said, that some of these tax loopholes, and I quote, '...made it possible for millionaires to pay nothing while a bus driver was paying ten percent of his salary, and that's crazy. It's time we stop it.' That was twenty-six years ago. Do you know the name of that president? Ronald Reagan.

"So, was that class warfare?

"By the way, taxes are much lower now than they ever were when Ronald Reagan was president.

"I know a lot of folks have short memories, but I don't remember Republicans accusing Ronald Reagan of being  a socialist or engaging in class warfare because he thought that everybody should do their fair share."

That's what he said.

So, how is your memory?

Today's top tax rate is 35%.

President BO (the child president) ran on a platform that sought to raise the rate to 39.5%.

Is your memory good enough to remember that the top tax rate under Ronald Reagan was 28%?

Look, I understand that some of you were "educated" in government schools (as opposed to public schools, which is what schools used to be but are no more), and you'll need a refresher course in math, so here goes.

Thirty-five percent is larger than twenty-five percent, and thirty-nine percent is larger yet!

So, when President BO (the child president) tells you with a straight face that taxes have never been lower than they are now, HE IS LYING TO YOU THROUGH HIS VERY WHITE TEETH!!

Why can't liberal/progressives get that? What is WRONG with your minds?

(Answer: You have a disease. You are sick. Liberalism/progressiveism is a disease, a bone-fide mental disorder that causes you to be unable to engage in linear thinking or sticking with the actual truth).

OK, OK, OK Maybe he wasn't lying.

Maybe he's just an inexperienced, immature, incompetent, ignoramous who does not know the facts and does not have a staff that is competent enough to supply him with them.

Those are the only two possibilities.

At any rate, he just keeps on and keeps on and keeps on lying and Americans keep on and keep on and keep on letting him get away with it.

STOP DOING THAT!!

Hold his ever-lovin'-blue'-eyed feet to the proverbial fire!

Let him know in no uncertain terms that you are not that stupid (are you?).

One thing I have observed about Hermain Cain: he really, really, really does know math....real math.

sticking with the actual truth

Isn't "actual truth" redundant, teacher?

Hermain is one intelligent man that knows his numbers and has successfully ran a business.

I would do anything to bring back at time where we had another Reagan era, those were the days.

What did you like about the Reagan years, Leticia? The Social Security tax increase, Iran/Contra?

Trekkie4Ever said...

Ducky, During his eight years in office he revitalized the economy, defeated the Soviet Union without firing one single shot, appointed constructionist judges who abide by the Constitution and most importantly, got government off the backs of citizens and revived the American spirit – all while contending with a Democrat controlled House of Representatives.

That's why? Anymore questions?

Joe - Here's something from the one note samba girl - ducky is right.

'actual truth' is like saying something is more unique.

Joe said...

Ducky: It is also repititious.

Leticia: Well, the good old days won't be returning soon, but we can be a part of the good new days if we play our cards right.

sue hanes: No, Ducky is left...very left.

You would think that since we are all connected to the same internet that liberals could look things up before asking stupid questions and embarrassing themselves. BUT, that's where Truth # 8 comes in.

Joe, that's about all we can do, and my friend, we can pray.

Lone Ranger, you would think so, but maybe they have difficulty navigating the net, I have no idea.

Hey Joe, how about some Herman Cain math. He takes over Godfather's when it had over 600 locations and was the fourth largest pizza chain.

He left it with 500 locations and fifth place.

Some job creator but you suckers will fall for anything.

Joe - and as usual:

you are very right

Hey, Joe. We're probably about the same age, so I remember. The top marginal tax rate for the first 6 1/2 years of Reagan was 50%. The tax reform bill in "86" lowered it to 35%, then 28% in "87". So, the TMTR was 28% for all of 11 months of double R's presidency, and about 2 years of Daddy Bush's. It was raised back to 35% because of mounting deficits and a failing economy. It was the responsible thing to do so, naturally, the Righties spanked Bush One for it.

I also remember that the Capital Gains Tax was 20% when Reagan took office. He raised it to 28% and closed tax loopholes for the rich because he thought it was crazy for a middle class worker to pay higher income taxes than a wealthy person.

Reagan ended up raising taxes 11 times. Including payroll taxes, gas taxes and corporate taxes. Being middle class and self employed in the 80's, I payed more taxes when Reagan left office than when he came in. BTW, I'm paying less taxes, so are you, since Obama took office. Look it up.

Hey ! Craig!: Reagan faught to lower the rate that whole time but was double crossed by congress, the majority of which was...guess what: DEMOCRATS!!

Joe, During the first 6 years of Reagan's run, Republicans controlled the Senate. If getting what he (R.R.) proposed and signing the tax bills (lowering and raising) is getting double-crossed, then I don't know what double-crossed means. He had a veto pen, ya know.

So, when President BO (the child president) tells you with a straight face that taxes have never been lower than they are now, HE IS LYING TO YOU THROUGH HIS VERY WHITE TEETH!!

First of all, you misquote the Obama quote from your own post. He said, "By the way, taxes are much lower now than they ever were when Ronald Reagan was president."

Second, what he said is, as I have shown you with factual data, entirely accurate. By any measure, Obama is correct. Revenue as a % of GDP is currently 14.7%, the lowest tax burden on the American people since 1950. The average tax burden during Reagan's 8 years was 18.2% of GDP.

Why can't liberal/progressives get that? What is WRONG with your minds?

You're entitled to your own opinion but you're not entitled to your own "facts". You may want to do a little research before making silly statements like the one above.
