APOLOGIES

For those of you who read my posts regularly or semi-regularly and enjoy them, I apologize for having been a little slack.

As you know, I recently found work after searching for over a year. My poor old body is not used to work and is going to sleep on me quite early each evening.

For those of you who read my posts on the sly and don't really enjoy them (although I have to admit that is hard to fathom), don't get your hopes up. I'll be back in full swing as soon as I adjust.

My thought for today centers around the new congress.

It is my opinion that conservatives have an opportunity to make a permanent, positive mark on the country if they don't get caught up in the "GOOD OLD BOY" system of Washington DC "cap and trade." (You know: I have this nice cap for you if you'll do things my way; and I'll trade you this program for that, and will scratch your back if you'll scratch mine).

The reading of the Constitution yesterday seems to have been like reading a horror story for some liberal/progressives, who hate it with a passion. For many, it was the first time they had ever read it. For others, they had read it, but twisted its meanings to fit their liberal/progressive agenda.

There are two sacred writings in the universe: the Bible and the Constitution. (Yeah, I know about Qur'an, but there is nothing sacred about it).

I love the idea of having to justify each and every law passed by demonstrating its source in the Constitution.

I also love "one bill, one subject," and idea I have espoused for years and which I heard spoken of in DC just the other day!

Maybe, just maybe, we can get the real America back... the one with individual freedoms, fewer imposing regulations and that encourages business and employment.

Here's hoping!

I am very hesitant to trust any of them yet. When I listen to how both sides twist every issue to suit their side it makes me crazy. Both omit important details and mangle the ones they leave in. I want some honesty in Washington. I'm feeling a little better but it's going to take a lot more than reading the constitution to garner my faith and or respect.

Although - it really was about time that happened!

I think a bill should be dropped on the head of its sponsor from the roof of the Senate or House office building. If the sponsor survives, the bill goes to committee.

Why do i hate obama and the rest of the Liberal morons?
Liberals point to Bush, Cheney, Palin, Teabaggers, Birthers, Homophobes, etc, and say they are insane and stupid. But let's take a look at what liberals want. Then you decide who is insane:

1. Liberals want abortion on demand with no waiting period or parental notification.

2. Liberals want to relax sex-crime laws so grown women and men can rape children without going to jail.

3. Liberals want to investigate how building 7 was destroyed on 9/11.

4. Liberals want to heavily tax the people who pay us until the people who pay us can no longer pay us and then the liberals will use that tax money to pay us.

5. Liberals don't want any children, but want to tell your children how to think and act.

6. Liberals don't want to take your guns away. They just don't want you to have the ammo.

I think you get the point....

Feeling a bit more optimistic now than, say, 6 months ago. BUT they're gonna have to hold fast & NOT compromise in order to prove themselves to me.

BetteJo: I am holding my breath hoping that the new guys have the guts to do what they need to do.

LR: Best idea I've seen all week.

Scotty: He's good, isn't he?

JH: It's clear to me...they are.

Silverfiddle: Get's in the way of mine, that's for sure.

Susannah: I just hope somebody doesn't "teach them the system."

Tap: Thanks. I hope I adjust soon.

I think we are looking at years Joe to clean up Washington. Liberals are Tenacious, they're like the Energizer Bunny, they just keep going. Loses, like those this past November are not seen as losses but set backs. Interestingly, to me anyway, is their ability to fall on the sword for their beliefs. Passing their health care law was gutsy and many paid a price. Not that I would accuse them of altruism because the word is not in their dictionary. But looking long term, if this bill stands, they know that the mid term election of 2010 is meaningless. Some of the new class will fail, of that we can be sure, but the answer to their failure is not to give up but to throw them out too. We didn't get here overnight and it is going to take decades of elections to roll back the deterioration, to rebuild actually. I don't think you and I will actually see it Joe, but there is a chance our children will... If we don't throw in the towel at the first sign of a set back that is.

I'm with you on the blogging thing. I've pulled way back out of fear that my children will one day remember their Daddy as the one humped over the computer.
