It is four O'clock in the morning and I can't sleep as today is my first day on the job all by myself. My training is repeating itself with unknown accuracy over and over in my mind, which will not settle down.
I think I can handle the rudimentary procedures well enough, but it is one of the most intimidating things I have ever done. There is nobody looking over my shoulder telling me what to do if I go wrong...so I hope I get it right.
This work is not entirely new to me, as I worked in a cubby hole, a-la Dilbert, back in 1999. But there I had actual people upon whose shoulders to cry when I got stuck.
I'll be back blogging as soon as I feel comfortable, assuming that actually happens.
I don't actually go to work until Noon each day, so I will have mornings free to research and blog...I hope.
I'm going to try to go back to sleep, now, as all of the "I"s in this post are starting to make me feel like a certain President.

Soooo, you're an air traffic controller?
LR: I wish! I'll be doing customer service from my home for a large retail establishment, a much more complicated process than doing it in a call center.
good luck!!! been there done that......You'll do fine....stay well
Joe - I've been at home most of my adult life so I can't offer advice on jobs; however, I've always heard that starting a new job can be tough for anyone.
Just from reading your blog, I can't imagine that you won't succeed once you get the hang of it.
If I were to work, I would definitely choose a job that starts at noon!!
Good luck!!!
