By now, everybody knows about the unthinkable massacre that occurred at Fort Hood, in Texas.

Certainly our prayers are with the families of those killed as well as with those injured in the melee.

President BO thought it proper to hold a special telecast addressing the event.

As our brilliant, sophisticated, experienced leader stepped to the podium, eyes and ears all over the country waited earnestly for his opening remarks about the tragedy.

What? What's that he's saying?

"Please, everybody have a seat. Let me first of all just thank Ken and the entire Department of the Interior staff for organizing just an extraordinary conference. I want to thank my Cabinet members and senior administration officials who participated today. I hear that Dr. Joe Medicine Crow was around, and so I want to give a shout-out to that Congressional Medal of Honor* winner. It's good to see you. (Applause.)

"My understanding is, is that you had an extremely productive conference. I want to thank all of you for coming and for your efforts, and I want to give you my solemn guarantee that this is not the end of a process but a beginning of a process, and that we are going to follow up. (Applause.) We are going to follow up. Every single member of my team understands that this is a top priority for us. I want you to know that, as I said this morning, this is not something that we just give lip service to. And we are going to keep on working with you to make sure that the first Americans get the best possible chances in life in a way that's consistent with your extraordinary traditions and culture and values.

"Now, I have to say, though, that beyond that, I plan to make some broader remarks about the challenges that lay ahead for Native Americans, as well as collaboration with our administration,..."

There's been a slaughter of American soldiers and he's talking about the conference with Native Americans he's just been to.

With the requisite pauses and stumbling, stuttering nature of President BO's speech patterns, this took about 1 minute and 50 seconds...almost two minutes to accomplish.

He still hasn't addressed the Fort Hood incident.

"...but as some of you might have heard, there has been a tragic shooting at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas. We don't yet know all the details at this moment; we will share them as we get them. What we do know is that a number of American soldiers have been killed, and even more have been wounded in a horrific outburst of violence.

"My immediate thoughts and prayers are with the wounded and with the families of the fallen, and with those who live and serve at Fort Hood. These are men and women who have made the selfless and courageous decision to risk and at times give their lives to protect the rest of us on a daily basis."

If there is one of you out there who thinks this televised statement represented President BO's understanding of the solemnity, seriousness and urgency of this very horrific event, you are totally mistaken. Either that or you are so blinded by this man's charisma that you have lost all touch with reality.

What he DID demonstrate is that he is inexperienced, sophomoric, and absolutely un-presidential. He has no sense of dignity, nor does he understand why his opening remarks were inappropriate for the occasion.

His mind was on the preceding conference and he had to express himself about that mundane, irrelevant event before he could progress to the real issue he was supposed to be dealing with.

Already, some are writing that pointing out this shortcoming in President BO's ability to properly assess a situation is "playing politics."

President BO is the one who was playing politics. He is the one who could not get on topic, not his critics.

The man you people (whoever you are) elected is nothing more than an incapable school boy (Yes, I dared used the word "boy," because that's what he acts like. If he does not want to be referred to as a "boy," then let him start acting like a leader...a man.).

If you are a liberal with half a mind, you must be embarrassed by this man's performance. If you are not, then I feel sorry for your has gone missing.

There is no way, under any circumstances that the opening of this speech can be justified.

For those of you who will accuse me of lying, here is the speech (watch the time line):

Did you watch his expressions?

Did you observe his body language?

He was totally out of his element.

Toward the end he said, "...And I want all of you to know that as Commander-in-Chief, there's no greater honor but also no greater responsibility for me than to make sure that the extraordinary men and women in uniform are properly cared for and that their safety and security when they are at home is provided for."

As he said it, he was halting, pausing, searching for a way to get himself out of the grammatical corner he had painted himself into which would have required at least one or two more "I"s, but which he has become sensitive about, since too many "I"s seem egotistical. So he hunted for a way out and found it in "...there's no greater honor for ME (emphasis HIS)..."

Then, in a fitting close to his remarks about this terrible occurrence, he closed by saying, "Again, thank you for your participation here today. I am confident that this is going to be resulting in terrific work between this government and your governments in the weeks, the months, and years to come."

The MainStreamMedia has edited the video of his remarks so as not to include the parts that revealed his un-presidentiality. You will not see the references to the conference with Native Americans, because MSM wants you to think he WAS presidential.

But he was not, is not and never will be.

He will always be, as he is now, clueless in DC.

Barack Hussein Obama is a liar.

I'll bet he is absolutely joyful about one of his own (Muslim) murdering those he hates (members of the United States military).

Behind closed doors he is celebrating.

LOL! The word verification is hecrack. "He crack"! Yeah! Good description of Obama today! And, in Ebonics no less!

Z said...

well said, Joe. Obama is emotionless when it's a cause he doesn't feel. Funny that he didn't even comment on the Black student killed in Chicago about 2 months ago back when it happened. He had a moment he could have done some good in, but as I just said at my blog in a comment, perhaps it was just too much for him to call for less violence and less angry black kids; after all, who'd vote socialist if they get THEIR eyes opened by a good teaching moment about not expecting handouts and having good character?

This speech shocked even me...imagine him not mentioning Ft Hood's deaths FIRST.
Let them spin; the American public's better than the media.

I have to agree with my buddy Mark here....I believe the soldier's being a Muslim really bugged Obama. Remember, his promise in Turkey to the students that "one of the American president's jobs is to protect islam around the world"....he's grieving, he's in overdrive protecting islam. Not US.

Joe, I responded to you over at z's but she censored. I didn't use ad hominems but she seems to be upset about being shown to be absolutely wrong.
You are also.

Obama was at the microphone for the scheduled closing of a conference. There was no special announcement scheduled. He was scheduled to close the conference at the time the information about the Fort Hood killings was being verified.

So he used two minutes of remarks to close the conference and then went on to Fort Hood. You list your occupation as communications, if so you surely understand that it would have been impossible to lead with the Ft. Hood statement and then reverse course to close the conference and there was no reason the attendees shouldn't hear the closing remarks. They were completely appropriate.

Faux News could have waited for the end of the closing remarks to cut over but they didn't. It was their error not his.

If I am wrong, I would ask for a reasoned reply.

"I thank you for having me here today. I'd be remiss without first mentioning the Ft Hood attacks and asking for your prayers for those who have passed, for the wounded, and for their families. Please stop with me for a minute of silence. Now, I'd like to proceed with the order of business here, and thank you again for having me, it's a privilege and an honor......."

That's what should have been said, and I believe Joe's experience in the business will back me up.
Whining already, Ducky? "Z CENSORED ME!" AWWWWWWWWWWW :-)
No, it's my BLOG, Ducky...and I am not wrong.
Sorry your ego can't take disagreement; that doesn't make ME WRONG.

What Was I Thinking? said...

Right Joe and in addition there is simply no excuse for president Obama to turn down Germany's Chancellor Merkel’s invitation to Germany to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall next week, None. He should be ashamed. I know I am ashamed for him

Joe said...

Ducky: Z is absolutely correct and you are absolutely wrong.

Regardless of whether he was "scheduled" to close the conference or not, he DID know that he was about to go on national television to specifically address the events at Fort Hood.

As a progessional communicator of over 26 years, I know this: a competent president would have confined his remarks to that cause, just as Z illustrated.

This jerk could not resist pointing his finger at himself a few times before he got to the supposed subject at hand.

Sorry, Ducky. You lose this one out of hand, and I think you are intelligent enough to know that.

You are, aren't you?

Ducky's here said...

That's right Joe, he was scheduled to address the Fort Hood issue.

Why the conference attendees were in the audience? If it were scheduled to address the Fort Hood incident to a national audience they would not have been in attendance.

Buy a vowel.

EXCELLENT post here. As I listened to BHO, I even checked my partisan self (believe it or not) at the door b/c this was a national emergency & this is our President, and we need a leader now...So, I gave him the benefit of the doubt as I inclined my ear.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who was thinking, "What the HECK is he even TALKING about???"

Ducky, you're full of it, ya know? For a President to dismiss an event such as what happened yesterday in order to entertain his current 'order of business' is inexcusable. There's absolutely no explanation other than what Joe said here. The only thing I would add is what I was thinking as I listened (& realized he had relegated the Ft. Hood MASSACRE to the back burner), "this guy is cold, heartless, calculated, unempathetic, & he has no IDEA how to condemn the acts of one of his own."

If I wasn't already thinking he was a Muslim at heart, if not in practice, I am now...

Z~ Excellent opener. Precisely what my ears were listening for & couldn't believe they didn't hear...You wouldn't happen to have any time to take on Presidential speech writing, would you?

Joe said...

Ducky, Ducky, Ducky: He was scheduled to close the conference, but once the Fort Hood incident became the fore, regardless of who was in the audience, and regardless of what the original purpose of the event was, a good president would have realized that he was about to address an audience outside of the one in the room (IE: natinwide)and would have made the appropriate adjustment, saving remarks for the people in the room for AFTER the national address.

Unless, of course, you think his remarks were to have been reserved to the Indians and were only televised nationally by accident.

"Why the conference attendees were in the audience?" I think I know what you meant to ask.

They were there for their intended purpose. They were there because they were there.

As soon as President BO became aware that he was about to address the nation, those in the room should have become superfluous.

Oh, and I don't need you to get your vowels in an uproar. My issue was with a consonant, not a vowel. (professional)

Z said...

WHAT WAS I THINK? I hadn't heard about this and I thank you for your comment here informing us: I have an answer though...The answer for Obama's dissing Merkel again is the same answer for all the dissing America's done to Germany since he was elected.

They turned down his request to campaign in Germany at the Brandenburg Gates, where most Germans are also turned down. That's hallowed and reserved. He simply couldn't take it. Mr. Z used to read me the German news and he told me Obama's never stopped dissing. (what America never saw were the German conservative politicians sarcastically and rightfully asking if they could come to the Statue of Liberty to campaign for their next Germany elections!!)

Also, the first place every non German politician goes when they come to Germany for anything is the capital, now Berlin. That's how you honor a foreign country. Obama hasn't gone there yet, he's turned down at least 3 invitations, a real insult because he was elsewhere in Germany. I don't remember all else he's done there, but he's doing it to England, too, by dissing Gordon Brown.
I remember now; Merkel also didn't believe Germany should do a huge Stimulus like Obama suggested Europe do; Germany's economy's the only one which is bouncing back pretty spectacularly; pity our msm isn't talking about this because maybe the irony would be noticed by even leftwingers here. This isn't pleasing Obama, either; well, the msm's dishonesty is, but the success of Germany after following this dope's economic advice must really grate on the Chicago thugs in the WH

He simply won't let the Brandenburg Gate thing go, I guess; once you cross Obama, you get treated badly by ALL AMERICANS as he is our representative; this is the most sad part of the whole thing.

Joe said...

Mark: You are sadly correct.

Z: You opening remarks would have been so much more presidential. Have you ever considered running?

WWIT: Yeah. He is just an absolute embarrassment to US.

Z: I did not read WWIT's comment until AFTER I had read yours. Turns out yours belonged here after all.

I'm sorry I ever doubted you.

How are you getting along, by the way?

Susannah: I'm beginning to run out of words to express my utter contempt for Dear Leader.

Joe said...

Ducky: You said, "Obama was at the microphone for the scheduled closing of a conference."

That is not the case. He was, in fact, NOT at the microphone, but was introduced by a conferencee and THEN stepped across the stage to the microphone.

Watch the UNEDITED video on my site and you'll see it all happen.

He already knew about Fort Hood, as evidenced by the fact that he did not have to stop, be handed a press release or whatever. He ALREADY HAD his prepared remarks.

Could this possibly wake you up to the fact that the MSM does not want you to know the WHOLE story, only the part that makes President BO "look good?"

I'd love to be a presidential speech writer, Joe. But only for one I admired :-)

RiR: Why am I not surprised. More proof of his priorities.

Tapline: I get a kick out of Ducky. He thinks he is wise and learned, but he is sophomoric and pretentious. I like to mess with his mind...when I can find it. He'll never change, because he has forgotten what open minded tolerance is all about.

sue said...

Joe - The cluelessness goes back through the last 9 years.

Does this ring a bell?

'We're gonna git the folks that did this.'

Then he proceeded to start a war he couldn't finish. If that isn't clueless, what is. WMD

Oh, and Mission Accomplished.

Joe said...

Sue: "Clueless" means that you don't know what is going on. George W. Bush did not do all the right things, but he knew what he was doing (whether or not I agreed with what he was doing) every step of the way.

"Starting a war he could not finish" might be wrong headed (although I would argue that the war was both necessary and good), but it was not clueless.

"Mission Accomplished" was picked up by the libs and forced to apply to something it was never meant to apply to: the completion of the war.

Anybody with more than a third grade education would know that the mission accomplished did NOT refer to the completion of the war but of the antecedent action.

That was accomplished, and accomplished completely and properly.

No matter what you have been brainwashed with by the press (which loves to repeat the phrase in a mis-applied manner over and over until it is believed by the gullible), he accomplished the mission to which he referred.

He was a lot of things, not all of them what I would have wanted, but HE WAS NOT, I REPEAT: NOT CLUELESS.

President BO, on the other hand, IS CLUELESS. He is clueless about priorities, he is clueless about dignity, he is clueless about propriety, and he is clueless about leadership. ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS.

He looks like he is grasping at straws with every announced agenda.

He raises his nose up into the air like a bonefide snob.

He "leads" by threat and intimidation.

He is arrogant and totaly self-oriented.

He befriends our enemies and insults our friends.

Whenever there is a choice between what is right and what is wrong, he always picks the wrong.

Whenever there is a choice between what is right and what is politically expedient, he always picks the politically expedient.

He does not like citizens to be free, but prefers to have them live under the thumb of the elite few who know more about what you need than you do.

Joe - You say the things that you do not because you are right, but because you are a Conservative. We all believe in what we believe. It's that plain and simple. George W. Bush was an incompetent president who should never have been elected.

Good luck in your new job.

Joe said...

Sue: "George W. Bush was an incompetent president who should never have been elected."

Acually, he was a competent President who WAS elected.

President BO WAS elected, but he is incompetent.

sue said...

Joe - We could go back and forth on this indefinitely, couldn't we. It's just a matter of loyalty to the side we are on.

Joe said...

Sue: See, the thing is, at least for now, this is America. You have the right to be on the wrong side of the issues.
