When the Shoe is on the Other Foot...BAM!

Post Election Destruction
When Obama was elected president, there were many unhappy people. They expressed themselves with words of disappointment, some mild, some strong.

The people who were happy about his election, some of whom are in the picture on the left, told  us to get over it. They said he had been elected, fair and square. They told us we should respect President Obama because we should "respect the office."  And because "He is my president."

Some of those same people told us that if we didn't support President BO that we were racists. They said they were unhappy with us because we were unhappy to have a black president. That was patently untrue, but that's what they said.

They told us we should peacefully acquiesce to his election because it was a done deal and he was going to give us "Hope and Change." That he gave us no hope and only negative change was irrelevant to them because it was the idea that counted...the good intentions that mattered.

Now the people have elected another person to serve as president. He won the election fair and square. Now the same people who said we should respect Donald Trump because we should "respect the office" not only are not respecting the office, they are destroying property, disparaging the president-elect and issuing threats against anyone  who voted for him.

The very same people who dumped on those who dumped on Obama are now dumping on Donald Trump. They are of the "Do what we say do, not what we do do" crowd. And they are packed full of do do.

Many celebrities warned us that they would leave the country if Donald Trump was elected president. People like Whoopie Goldberg, Al Sharpton, Samuel Jackson, Lena Dunham, Barbara Streisand, Jon Stewart, George Stephanopoulous, George Lopez, Miley Cyrus Cher and even Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg ("Now it's time for us to move to New Zealand").

So why are they still here? It is their collective, right-wing hubris to think we care that they leave the country. I say, "Good riddance. Don't let the door hit you in the bohunkus as you leave."

Whether you like Donald Trump or not; whether you voted for him or not; whether you like his plans for America or not, if you are among those who are rioting, looting and destroying property, you are uncivilized hooligans, unworthy of being called an American. Civilized people don't burn, loot and destroy property.

You are, sadly, being led and stirred up by a bogus, fake bunch of ingrates who call themselves "Black Lives Matter." They are liars, cheats and hypocrites. They don't care about lives, black, white or indifferent. They are a bunch of people in need of anger management classes, who care only for themselves and no one else.

You are not required to like Donald Trump. You are not required to support Donald Trump. You are not even required to say nice things about Donald Trump. But if you resort to violence, destruction and other mayhem, you should be arrested, prosecuted and thrown in jail.

But you are probably too stupid to know that.

It's been awhile, Joe. Good to hear from you again.

You would hope that the opposition would behave civilly after defeat. But this is not the 'loyal opposition' of times not all that long ago. These are different people. They are an amalgam of miscreants, thugs, criminals and ne-er-do-wells who will do and say anything, legal or illegal, if it advances their cause.

And when their agenda is thwarted, they do not react the way you and I do, Joe. We face an opposition that will break the law, and will obviously support an out-and-out criminal to champion their causes.

We can expect nothing less than an all-out effort to undermine the newly elected leader of the U.S. Call them hypocrites, call them anything you wish, but do not call them patriots. They are out to destroy our country the way it was founded. We must oppose them at every turn, and not consider them our moral equivalents, as they are not.

Most of them, anyway. Sure, there are a small group of 'loyal opposition' folk, but they are now in the minority of the Democrat ranks.

Fredd: Thanks for coming by. I hope to intermittently post, hopefully with increasing frequency as time and the times permit.

JOE! You're back! This is your old nemesis Xavier Onassis! I dropped that persona when I gave up blogging. Real name is Joe Calton. I do all my ranting on Facebook these days.

I don't need to tell you how I feel about this election. We've had enough discussions over the years that I'm sure you could write my comments for me (except you'd leave out the F bombs).

I'm not even looking to get into a fight tonight. I just want to say how incredibly happy I am that you are still alive and kicking. I mean that sincerely, Joe. I've been very worried about you and had no way of even knowing if you were alive or dead.

This is been a horrible and humbling week for me, as I'm sure you can imagine. I don't even care if you want to gloat about that a little bit. Or a lot. :-)

But seeing you posting again is like a ray of sunshine in an otherwise bleak, soul-sucking abyss! I'm just really, really glad you're OK, Joe.

Joe: Well, thanks. It has been a harrowing two years for me. Lots of heart issues, specifically multiple Premature Ventricular Contractions and a heart that liked to stop beating for 3 1/2 seconds at a time or more. A pacemaker implant has made me feel better than I've felt in about 12 years.

As to blogging, I will be doing it as often as I can. I still work 10 hour days, and that makes it a bit tough, but I'll do my best.

As to the election, I voted for trump for no other reason than I could not bring myself to vote for Hillary Teflon Clinton. I think she has committed more than one felony. Trump...well we shall see.

Just remember, I am an equal opportunity castigator.
