Sean Hannity was spewing lies and misinformation, talking over the congressman and trying to drown out the actual facts before finally becoming so frustrated that he told the congressman that he was "full of crap".

How very professional of him. Is it any wonder Fox News has become fed up with this idiot and yanked him from his time slot like a bad vaudeville performer getting the hook?

Hannity is lucky that all he got from the congressman were sneers and condescension.

Why anyone would waste their time appearing on his show is beyond me.

Hannity is dead wrong here. They don't have a "72% subsidy."

What they have is an employer contribution to their health care plan. All employers who provide a health care plan - to my knowledge anyway - pay for part of said plan, while the employee picks up the rest. The percentage the employer pays differs among employers, but the fact is that it is not a "subsidy" per se.

Ducky's here said...

A subsidy is a form of financial or in kind support extended to an economic sector (or institution, business, or individual) generally with the aim of promoting beneficial economic and social outcomes.

Probably can't call it income or it would be taxable.
I say, subsidy.

If you want to call what Congressmen get a "subsidy," then you have to say ALL employees who have employer contributions to their health care receive a "subsidy."

It is dishonest to call it a subsidy if a congressman gets it and not apply the same reasoning to every other employee who receives a similar benefit.
