LIBERAL IT

Only the Brightest and Best
Only a liberal IT guy would think 3 years and 24 days is not longer than it should take to get an application web site up and running correctly.

Good thing it didn't take FaceBook, Twitter and Linkdin that long. Of course they are private sector entities. They really don't know what they're doing, while the federal government does.

Based on their results from the Affordable Healthcare Act web site, we should feel confident that they can handle health care in the U.S. with ease.

It didn't?

Please stop.

Ducky: Miss the point again, Ducky? How do you manage to do that so often?

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - You really have no idea what you are talking about when it comes to getting IT applications up and running.

Stop embarrassing yourself by pretending that you do.

Stick to politics. Oh, wait...you don't know anything about that either.

Stick to religion. Where facts have no relevance and people can believe whatever silly nonsense they choose.

That is your realm.

Joe said...

XO "Stop embarrassing yourself by pretending that you do."

I'm not at all embarrassed.

The point has nothing to do with getting IT applications up and running...nothing. But the liberal mind has a short circuit when it comes to being able to get the point of something.

So, you join Ducky in being unable to understand the point of the post. You get hung up on irrelevancies.

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - Claiming that your post doesn't have anything to do with exactly what it has to do with is not at all surprising.

You have completely lost your grip on reality.

Does it take more than a billion dollars to get IT applications up and running? Does it take public embarrassment and Congressional hearings to get IT applications up and running?

If Amazon or Hulu or Netflix or Google or ANY of the applications that have become household names had gone through this, nobody would ever have heard of them.

Immutable Truths About Liberals #8. Liberals cannot be embarrassed. They lack the gene to blush.

This is only the beginning of things that can't embarrass liberals. Everyone knows you can't fix bad code by tacking good code on the end of it. This entire system will have to be shut down and it will have to be started over from scratch.

This whole thing smacks of corruption. A no-bid contract with a foreign firm? What, there are no programmers in this country? Obama sycophant Bill Gates would have done it for free. The only thing we have to find out now is where did all that money go? Who is getting the kickbacks?

Immutable Truth About Liberals #7. Whenever you don't understand a liberal's motives, just look for the money.

Tonto's Catcher = "If Amazon or Hulu or Netflix or Google or ANY of the applications that have become household names had gone through this, nobody would ever have heard of them."

Nonsense.

Every single one of those applications went through a Beta release with a limited number of users for several months before being released to the general public.

The purpose of a Beta release is to shake out the bugs that weren't found during routine testing.

The biggest mistake that the healthcare.gov developers made was not conducting a thorough, integrated end-to-end Beta test.

But this is all a lot of theatrical hand wringing. Bugs will be fixed, bandwidth will be scaled up, integration points will be strengthened and all of this nonsense will soon be forgotten.

"Everyone knows you can't fix bad code by tacking good code on the end of it. This entire system will have to be shut down and it will have to be started over from scratch"

Thank you for so clearly demonstrating that you have never written a line of code in your life and have no idea what you are talking about.

XO: OK. I will now tell you the point of the post (although I'm not certain why I'm trying to help a liberal think. That's like trying to help a rock swim.)

The point of the post is the government does nothing right.

A few glitches might well be expected, but the web site does not even allow some people on, does not allow many people to register and does not register the people who do get through correctly.

Those are not minor glitches, they are major issues. They should have been know about and fixed before the program was opened to the public.

But of course, you can't see that.

You think the issues are all normal.

Joe said...

XO "... went through a Beta release with a limited number of users for several months before being released to the general public."

You have just made my point, quite accidentally, I'm sure.

I hope you don't charge extra for discovering my point ex post facto.

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - Actually, the Government does a lot of things very well as I pointed out in the comments of your previous post.

But of course you will ignore that because it doesn't fit your anti-government paranoia.

It was reported that the vendors who were creating this website are now reporting that the system is such a disaster because the Obama Administration instructed them to fill the website with false data early on so that the people would not see the actual costs of Obamacare earlier than necessary. Now that they've hit the official go live, they were instructed to replace the false data with official data and those changes have corrupted everything through out the system.

Yeah - that pretty much sounds like Obama since his days as community organizer. Lie to the people to push his personal agenda.

Joe said...

XO: Yes. It does the things it is supposed to do well when that's what it focuses on. It is supposed to keep us united, establish justice (not oversee it), keep the peace, provide for our common defense, promote (not provide) the welfare of the nation, and to preserve liberty.

It is not supposed to run railway systems or run healthcare. It just isn't. It does not know how to do ether well.

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - If you lived in the northeast you would know how efficient Amtrak really is. It gets millions of commuters to and from work on time every day.

And the federal government is NOT running healthcare! That is a Republican lie.

I wish the government WAS running healthcare just like it does in every other civilized, industrialized nation on this planet!

Instead, we have the exact same Big Insurance companies running healthcare that have always controlled things. All the government did was establish some rules and create a website.

Immutable Truth About liberals #4. Liberals don't debate, they argue.

I think XO, Like Merlin, is aging backwards. Every time he posts, he get more immature.

Oh, lookee here. Just so happens that Michelle Obama’s Princeton classmate is a top executive at the Canadian company that got the NO BID contract to build the failed Obamacare website.

Chicago kickback politics.

Xavier Onassis said...

Tonto's Catcher - Do you have any links or facts or ... anything ... at all ...to contribute to this discussion other than your own bigotry and hatred?

Clayton Moore would yank that stupid mask right off your face and slap you to death with it for being such an idiot.

Joe said...

XO: I guess you don't know how to use Google, right? You want someone else to do your work for you.

Xavier Onassis said...

Toni Townes-Whitley graduated from Princeton in 1985.

Michele Obama graduated from Princeton in 1981.

Perhaps someone can explain to me how that would make them "classmates"?

Or are we to leap to the conclusion that ANYONE who EVER went to Princeton is now a "classmate" of everyone else who ever went to Princeton?

Oh, and by the way, CGI was one of 16 firms approved by the Bush administration to provide tech work for the Government.

Don't your arms get tired and weak from stretching sooo faaar to try to find a single kernel of something you can point to and yell "SCANDAL!"?

Thanks for taking the duty, XO.

Craig and I were at another site.

Xavier Onassis said...

Ducky - What other site? Because we all know how sinfully promiscuous I am. I would totally cheat on Joe with another blog.

Besides, stupidity and misinformation must be beaten back with Reason and Truth wherever it rears its ugly little cockroach head!

Ducky - OMG! As soon as a saw the "Andrew Breitbart - American Hero" pic I could tell this is an idiot-rich environment that could use some schooling.

Jesus. How can there still be that many stupid people out there?

You would think that their refusal to submit themselves to the government tyranny of "Red Light/Green Light Crosswalks" and just wander out into oncoming traffic to "assert" themselves would cull the herd.

This will be fun.

Always a liberal's fallback position. Links? ailycaller.com/2013/10/25/michelle-obamas-princeton-classmate-is-executive-at-company-that-built-obamacare-website/

Of course, now you will just disregard that link by saying that it's conservative and therefore, lying. And don't forget to play the race card.

Oh, and I minored in computer programing at Roosevelt University. I also worked in the computer lab at the Air Force Weapons Lab for a few years, helping to develop those drones that Obama loves to sling at people, regardless of the collateral damage. You now know more about my qualifications than anyone knows about Obama's.

Feel free to disregard those remarks too, since they don't fit into the Bizarro World that is your life.

5) The Welfare state
6) The IRS, NSA, and DOJ scandals

13) The American Mainstream Media

Relax Tonto's Catcher, I already debunked your "Princeton classmates" nonsense. They weren't even there at the same time. There isn't a shred of evidence that they ever attended a class together or knew each other or had any contact at all.

And CGI was one of 16 tech companies approved by the Bush administration to provide work for the government. That's why there was no bid...they were already in the door.

Another bogus, trumped up "scandal".

As far as your "experience" and "qualifications" go, if you really had any idea what you are talking about you never would have uttered something as incredibly stupid as "Everyone knows you can't fix bad code by tacking good code on the end of it. This entire system will have to be shut down and it will have to be started over from scratch."

The biggest mistake the developers made was to require that users create an account and have all of their profile information validated before letting the users see how much the plans would cost.

They should have built it the same way mortgage loan websites are built. Let the users plug in a few basic parameters anonymously and get some prices.

Then, if they see something they like, they can go through the process of creating a profile and validating their information.

I've been doing this sort of thing for 30 years. It's not rocket science.

You really and truly have not idea, do you?

Oops! You won't get the connection. I mean you have just contradicted yourself in the same comment stream.

Xavier Onassis said...

Joe - " I mean you have just contradicted yourself in the same comment stream"

Nonsense. Both things are true. Had they conducted rigorous, end-to-end Beta testing they would have uncovered their design flaw and fixed it before going live.

Joe said...

XO: Big, Bigger, Biggest. Biggest is biggest. You can't have two "biggest"s. That's the superlative and two things can't be it.

Xavier Onassis said...

Really, Joe? That's all you have left to quibble about?

Ducky's here said...

Tonto's Catcher -- she was at least three years behind Michelle at Princeton. Not a big deal.

One mistake both you and Joe ake is to turn this into an Obama hating contest as if that's the root of the issue.
The dirty commies on Democracy Now! had a very good segment highlighting historic problems in the contracting process. But our media is going to turn this into an anti-Obama fest and as usual the fringe right never gets to the substance.

Joe said...

XO: Look , chum, you're the one who claimed each situation was the biggest, not me. You're just like Obama and his "best allies" junk, his dozens of "top priorities," his "focused on"s, and his "think about it all the time"s.

In short, you're just like a liberal: Can't think, can't speak and can't write.
