HAVE YOU NOTICED?

News reports from all over the world are pouring in! People are tearing down fences, swimming oceans, taking dangerous rowboat and sailboat trips, jumping from airplanes and digging tunnels to storm the borders of: Afghanistan, Akrotiri, Albania, Algeria, American Samoa, Andorra, Angola, Anguilla, Antarctica, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Armenia, Aruba, Ashmore and Cartier Islands, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Barbados, Bassas da India, Belarus, Belgium, Belize, Benin, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bolivia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bouvet Island, Brazil, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Bulgaria, Burkina Faso, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Canada, Cape Verde, Cayman Islands, Central African Republic, Chad, Chile, China, Christmas Island, Clipperton Island, Cocos (Keeling) Islands, Colombia, Comoros, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Republic of the Congo, Cook Islands, Coral Sea Islands, Costa Rica, Cote d'Ivoire, Croatia, Cuba, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Dhekelia, Djibouti, Dominica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Egypt, El Salvador, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Estonia, Ethiopia Europa Island, Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas), Faroe Islands, Fiji, Finland, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, French Southern and Antarctic Lands, Gabon, Gambia, Gaza Strip, Georgia, Germany, Ghana, Gibraltar, Glorioso Islands, Greece, Greenland, Grenada, Guadeloupe, Guam, Guatemala, Guernsey, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Guyana, Haiti, Heard Island and McDonald Islands, Holy See (Vatican City) Honduras, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, India, :Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Ireland, Isle of Man, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Jan Mayen, Japan, Jersey, Jordan, Juan de Nova Island, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kiribati, North Korea, South Korea, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Latvia, Lebanon, Lesotho, Liberia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macau, Macedonia, Madagascar, Malawi, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Malta, Marshall Islands, Martinique, Mauritania, Mauritius, Mayotte, Mexico, Federated States of  Micronesia, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montserrat, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nauru, Navassa Island, Nepal, Netherlands, Netherlands Antilles, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Niger, Nigeria, Niue, Norfolk Island, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palau, Panama, Papua New Guinea, Paracel Islands, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Pitcairn Islands, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Qatar, Reunion, Romania, Russia, Rwanda, Saint Helena, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, Sao Tome and Principe, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia and Montenegro, Seychelles, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Solomon Islands, Somalia, South Africa, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Spain, Spratly Islands, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Suriname, Svalbard, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Syria, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tokelau, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tromelin Island, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Turks and Caicos Islands, Tuvalu, Uganda, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Vietnam, Virgin Islands, Wake Island, Wallis and Futuna, West Bank, Western Sahara, Yemen, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Over the last 50 years there were 11,000,000 people streaming into each these countries in search of such things as the Zambian Dream, the Slovenian Dream, The Latvian Dream, the French Dream, the Norwegian Dream.

In fact, according to the latest news reports, The United States of America is the ONLY country to which people do not yearn to go for the opportunity to better themselves. It is the only country where there is not equality under the law. The United States of America is the only country where  it is not illegal to take children as wives and sex slaves. It is the only country where no individual has any hope of rising above his station in life.

That is because there is absolutely nothing special about The United States of America. Of all the countries of the world, The United States of America is the only one that has little or no draw. American Exceptionalism is a figment of the imagination.

Yes, out of all of those 250 some-odd countries, The United States of America is the only one that is not a "melting pot."

Why on earth would ANYONE want to live in or stay in The United States of America? Among the nations of the world, The United States of America is the least unique.

If I were living in The United States of America, I would sure try to leave to go to one of those other countries to live. Wouldn't you?

Refugees aren't trying to enter Australia.

That would be news to the Australians.

You need to get out of Florida once in a while, Joe.

Here's your choice Joe, Orlando or Florence.

Believe me, a lot of folks will pick Florence.

I'm giving serious consideraion to leaving the United States when I retire.

Prime candidates are Cuenca, Ecuador or Granada, Nicaragua.

Joe:

Keep up the good work. I think you have convinced Ducky and XO to leave. I'm sure the Florentines and Granadans will welcome those marxists will open arms, given them each a big slobbery kiss once they touch ground.

Only another 100 million more pathetic pinkos like those two leave, and these United States will be pretty darn pleasant.

Joe - I would not want to leave this country. It's the greatest country in the world.

Ducky and XO... you guys can visit me south of the border, down Mexico way when it's time for me to hang 'em up...

Ducky: That was really stupid. I never said anything about refugees...didn't even hint at it.

You need to get out of the country once in a while, Ducky.

XO: Retiring early by any chance?

sh: I agree.

DM: Good idea. Not as many immigrants screaming to get in for special treatment. Y'all have fun together!

Joe - Not a chance. Besides, they have the internetz in both of those locations so you won't even notice the difference. IT WILL BE LIKE I'M STILL HERE! Plus, if I keep my citizenship I can still vote and have an impact on your life while I'm basking on the beach with latina beauties bringing me Mai Tais and hand rolled cigars.

TTCO - The weather in Russia doesn't appeal to me. Plus, one of my best friends is from the Ukraine. Apparently there isn't a single food item that they don't pickle. That's just not natural.

Cuenca, Ecuador sits 8,000 feet up in the Andes where there are no bugs, the daytime temp never climbs out of the 70s and drops to the 50s at night so no need for heating or A/C.

The cost of living is about what it was here in the U.S. in 1950.

The Galapagos are part of Ecuador so I can go and retrace Darwin's footsteps at my leisure.

Healthcare is world class and very affordable. A house call from a doctor is easy to get and only runs about $35.00.

And best of all, it's thousands of miles away from the toothless, bigoted, bible thumping, gun toting, wilfully ignorant chuckleheads who think they represent the best that America has to offer.

In other words, it's paradise.

Anonymous - It's "Commie", not "Commo" and "ilk", not "ill".

It's hard to feel insulted by someone who is apparently only 12 years old.

XO, he must have been thinking of Lake Como as his retirement getaway.

XO: Managua, Nicaragua is a beautiful town
You buy a hacienda for a few pesos down
You give it to the lady you are tryin' to win
But her papa doesn't let you come in

Managua, Nicaragua is a heavenly place
You ask a seorita for a 'leetle' embrace
She answers you, "Caramba! scram-ba bambarito"
In Managua, Nicaragua, that's "No"

I have been to many tropic ports
I might include even Brooklyn
If you're ever feelin' out of sorts
I'd like to recommend a look in...

Managua, Nicaragua, what a wonderful spot
There's coffee and bananas and a temperature hot
So take a trip and on a ship go sailing away
Across the agua to Managua, Nicaragua, ol
Ol, ol
Across the agua to Managua, Nicaragua, ol

----- instrumental break -----

She answers you, "Caramba! scram-ba bambarito"
In Managua, Nicaragua, that's "No"

Every day is made for play and fun
'Cause every day is fiesta
And they work from twelve o'clock to one
Minus an hour for siesta

You go, man.
No...I mean really. You go...please.

Just saw this post on one of the Ecuador Ex-Pat facebook forums I joined:

"Malcolm: I have some experience with the Ecuadorian IESS Social Security hospital system. My soon to be spouse is a retired teacher and was diagnosed with non hodgkins type B lymphoma in mid July. She is undergoing chemotherapy--2 days inpatient every 3 weeks. Her oncologist is highly regarded, he teaches in Spain and Mexico and the care she is getting is better than anything I have seen in the US except for the Mayo Clinic--but Mayo is in a class by itself. It is similar in that the doctors in Ecuador are not in private practice--ditto for Mayo doctors."
