CHUCKLES SCHUMER REVEALS THAT THE "AFFORDABLE" HEALTH CARE ACT WON'T BE

UPDATE: SO DID SEBELIUS:

"...people purchasing new insurance policies for themselves this fall could see premiums rise because of requirements in the health-care law," Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told reporters Tuesday.

Ms. Sebelius’s remarks come weeks before insurers are expected to begin releasing rates for plans that start on Jan. 1, 2014, when key provisions of the health law kick in. Premiums have been a sensitive subject for the Obama administration, which is counting on elements in the health law designed to increase competition among insurers to keep rates in check. The administration has pointed to subsidies that will be available for many lower-income Americans to help them with the cost of coverage.

The secretary’s remarks are among the first direct statements from federal officials that people who have skimpy health plans right now could face higher premiums for plans that are more generous. …

“These folks will be moving into a really fully insured product for the first time, and so there may be a higher cost associated with getting into that market,” she said. “But we feel pretty strongly that with subsidies available to a lot of that population that they are really going to see much better benefit for the money that they’re spending.”

WHOOSH!

What was that sound?

It was you missing the point of your own post.

Listen to what he said!

Try to keep up!

XO: I did. See the update. Try to keep up.

You think his point was that health insurance costs have been going up for years, right.

Well, that was NOT his point and that is backed up by Kathleen Sebelius' previous comments.

They ALL know the cost of this travesty is going to impact individuals, the medical profession, insurance companies and the economy negatively, soon and greatly.

But you just sit back and enjoy watching it happen.

To this day, I doubt whether there is a single democrat in Congress who has read that bill.

Why do we put up with this? Why do we put up with us taxpayers paying Michelle Obama to fly around like she's holding a political office? Are there any limits to the O'Trauma's expenses? Can we invoke "sequester" on HER spending?

This is DISGUSTING! Our "dear leaders Bracak and Mochelle" will applaud when a gay person announces their sexuality to the world...but remain silent when someone who doesn't agree with hyper-Liberal policies does something that doesn't help the Obama's meaningless, mediocre presidency.

------
This is a matter of spreading risk.
Low risk patients who represent little risk of payouts need to absorb medical insurance costs up front in order that high cost, high risk patients like yourself, Joe, don't face a huge balloon payment in old age.

Just how insurance should work. Nothing to see here folks move along.

I already had a good health plan, and as I have noted here previously, my rates have gone up astronomically - and insurance company stated that it was due to AFA's requirements.

But I thought it was supposed to make health care more affordable?!

Oh, yeah, more affordable by giving it free to goldbricks and immigrants while charging the rest of us to pay for it. There is no such thing as a free lunch.

Now Glenn, we've caught you buffing the facts a bit in the past so would you please provide some better info.

Charged words like "astronomically" are very subjective and as a former government employee you haven't been putting a lot into the system so you might be exaggerating here.

I don't think you've every been in the position of not being able to afford insurance or being faced with high co-pays.
I dedect some whining.

There's an old saying that Politicians and diapers should be changed frequently and all for the same reason.
In Obama's case both aply

Ducky,
You just proved yourself to be an ass, spouting off about that which you know nothing. You aren't worth debating with. Go outside and play with the other children.

Thanks for addressing the specifics, Glenn.

I'm still waiting to see if Jo Joe's prohibition on profanity applies to all commenters (Steve American Patriot) or if he makes exceptions for commenters whose language he finds offensive but with whose point of view he agrees with.

Ducky: "...high risk patients like yourself, Joe"

After evaluating the results of my procedures, my electrophysiologist says he expects me to live not a day past 99 years.

Has that been redefined by liberals as high risk, now?

XO: I just got home from a 12 hour work shift. Old SAP is gone, now.

Joe - +Points for fairness.

I've been coming here for a few years now and I have an observation.

I think you're mellowing Joe.

You're starting to realize that us liberals have a legitimate point of view and that some of your conservative followers really are dangerously insane.

I bet Craig and Ducky would agree that you are less vociferous and more moderate than you were a few years ago.

I think you're coming around to our way of thinking.

Baby steps Joe. Baby steps.

XO: "I think you're coming around to our way of thinking."

In your dreams! I know you want me and my unimpeachable logic on your side, but it isn't going to happen.

Every day that goes by I learn more and more about the twisted, evil mind set of the basest of liberals.

I hate the mind set with a passion!
