Maybe by then those idiotic. mental deranged liberals who constantly post here will grow some brains!
This site would be a better place if it could eliminate those liberals. In fact the world be a better place.
They are the one reason why I never post any comments here.

SCS: "...will grow some brains!"

Sorry you don't post comments here. Your comments might be just what they need.

I can dream can't I? LOL

But shouldn't we arrive at the truth.

There was a back and forth with Glenn after he claimed extensive scholarship and he finally admits it all comes from reading Jihadwatch.

Never!

Not with this economy! Or should I say Obama's economy

Ducky, as usual, is bearing false witness.

I never claimed extensive scholarship for myself. And I only offered Jihad Watch as ONE place where you could find the truth about Islam. Since Jihad Watch is a very teeny, tiny, miniscule part of my reading material, probably less than 1/1000th of 1%, for you to claim that is where I get all my information is a gross lie and demonstrates again that you have no desire for truth.

Ducky's here said...

I see, you deny extensive scholarship but you know Jihadwatch prints the truth.

Remember the voices, Glenn. Listen to the voices.
Those are your cornermen yelling STAY DOWN.

Hurry back Joe, we need your insight.

I'm particularly interested in your take on oil prices because we need the right's understanding.

Thanks to this blog I learned that pricing is strictly a linear supply/demand graph with taxation thrown in but that's a constant at the moment.

Now the price per barrel of oil has dropped 25%. Does that ean that Saudi Arabia is pumping 25% more oil? You told us the Saudi supply was controlling price.

Nothing to do with the recession, strengthening dollar?
Help out these poor lefties, Joe.

Do you have the pricing formula available?

Joe said...

Ducky: The single largest entity impacting the world's oil supplies is the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC), a consortium of 13 countries: Algeria, Angola, Ecuador, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela.

Together, these 13 nations are responsible for 40 percent of the world's oil production and hold the majority of the world's oil reserves, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). [source: EIA].

When OPEC wants to raise the price of crude oil, it simply reduces production. This causes gasoline prices to jump because of the short supply, but also because of the possibility of future reductions.

When oil production dips, gas companies get nervous. The mere threat of oil reductions can raise gas prices.

Joe - Nice overview of the influence of OPEC on world oil prices.

A very accurate description of the market during the Carter administration.

Not so accurate anymore. The world has changed in the last 40 years and you need to update your information.

Here, allow me...

XO: There are other influences in the oil market. As I pointed out, OPEC accounts for about 40% of the oil market TODAY.

Russia also plays a role, as does China and Brazil. The US has a minor role.

But the principle remains the same. (Liberals, lacking any principles at all, don't understand the concept of principles at work). Control the amount of crude released for sale and you control the price of gas at the pumps and the price of other oil-based products.

Russia, China, et. al., all work wtih and sometimes through OPEC to control the release of crude.

Since the author of this blog seems to be on vacation or elsewhere, And he has left without a topic or subject to discuss. I would like to bring up the subject of a miserable, disgusting waste of human flesh by the name of Hanoi Jane Fonda., aka Communist whore should have been hung for treason long ago. Here we fined more proof why Progressivism is a disease that seems to have no successful treatment or antidote other than confinement like a PIG is in a Pig Pen!.

Lot of the younger generation have absolutely no idea who she is. But since Clinton liked her and Obama likes her and the sagging-boobed bra-burners of the 60's like her, they think she must be cool.

She's not.

Anyone who goes to the enemy in the middle of a war, gives aid and comfort to the enemy, speaks out against her own country, speaks out against the military men and women of her country, and then who volunteers for numerous photo-op propaganda pictures with the communist North Vietnamese is a traitor.

I remember all too well the Hanoi Jane urinal targets. Many, many, many a beer at various NCO clubs was recycled into useful ammunition and then fired appropriately at this skank's likeness.
And like any other liberal fool, these liberals who write here on this very blog probably were proud when that commie HO sat on a VC cannon and sided with the communists. That's a classic liberal for you!
I don't know of anyone who likes to go into a war but because of - 11 I think it was the right thing to do and I admire President Bush and our military personnel for doing the right thing at the right time.
And furthermore, let me be very blunt with you. I am completely, sick and disgusted by the manipulation of facts and flat out lies told by The Great Pretender we have in the White house now.

As a Nam Vet, I found this site to be this very interesting, correct, and factual. To the author of this blog let me say, Keep up the good work, its time for the truth to come out into the light of day..Your site is great. Keep up the good work.
To the Lib,Commies and other creeps that are here, I cannot even try to explain the disgust that I feel for you!
Thank you again and God bless you,

The largest consumer of refined petroleum products in the world plays a minor role?

Joe not only are you forgetting the consumption side of the equation but we're the third largest producer. Minor role?

You need to enroll in XO's advanced class.

Xavier Onassis said...

Ducky - Joe is also overlooking the fact that the U.S. has greatly increased our refining capacity and has become a net exporter of gasoline and other refined oil products.

Joe and his ilk probably think that all of that U.S. produced gasoline will stay in the U.S. and benefit Americans by lowering prices because it's "ours".

WRONG!

Just like OPEC, the Russians, Hugo Chavez and every other energy producer, American refineries sell American refined gasoline on the world commodity market to who ever will pay them the most.

American refined gasoline will be sold to China, Brazil, India and who ever else will pony up the highest price.

That's what these conservative, supposedly "free market" people don't understand.

Drilling and refining our own domestic resources won't benefit American citizens AT ALL. Not unless those American citizens are shareholders in the oil companies that will be selling our resources all over the world to the highest bidder.

American oil and gas doesn't stay in America for the benefit of Americans. Just like everything else these capitalist fetishists worship, American oil and gas follows the money.

Opening ANWAR, drilling off of Martha's Vinyards and in the middle of the San Franciso won't do ANYTHING to make us less dependent on foreign oil. NOTHING.

It will just make us more like them.

Joe said...

XO: "...Joe and his ilk probably think..."

See...you liberals are so smart that you actually know what other people are thinking.

Only you missed this one. US crude would joint the rest of the crude produced in the world, increasing the world supply, and influencing OPEC to keep prices lower in order to compete.

The "net exporter" thing is absolutely, positively of no meaning whatsoever.

Being a net exporter is not the point.

Making use of our natural resources in the world to our advantage is the point.

You people think with your emotions and your private parts, when you think at all.

You knowledge of how thing work in a world not tinted by your rose colored glasses is nil.

Joe - The more you bloviate the more you prove that you have absolutely no idea how the world oil market works.

You might want to stick to something you know better, like mindlessly regurgitating scripture and dogma learned by rote memorization with no critical analysis.
