NICE PEOPLE, THOSE MUSLIMS

Vile, viscious, uncivilized pigs.

The crowd laughs and enjoys the spectacle.

This was done in accordance with Islamic law and in the name of Ahlah.

Yet in our country they should be allowed to grow and flourish.

My God! I wanted to grab that whip and turn it on that piece of scum! And then let loose on the sick vermin laughing and mocking that poor woman.

Islam is NOT a peaceful religion and clearly they hate their women.

I cannot believe how vile and cruel those people are!

this is what the left in our country will never denounce or even talk about.
I get a sick feeling whenever I see what the religion of peace does to women.

Joe, This has been going on for centuries and it's not likely to change in the near future. it is a way of life and their not about to change. See Iraq for an eye opener.....They are slowily going back to the 7th century....and Iran how they progressed then the table turned and they are back where they were centuries ago....We thought we could change their way of thinking. WE CAN'T///Their Koran tells them what they can and cannot do....They won't change until their is a will to change and it's not there......stay well....

XO your example is ridiculous. It's one church and protesting is different than stoning, flogging, burning with acid, sicing off ears and noses, raping or honor killing of women.
So you are saying Islam is more tolerant than Christianity? I guess that statement about the left not denouncing it stands true being your only debate is to show one group of people protesting soldier's funerals.

Lisa said...

XO-I agree with anon. You are so willing to condemn one fringe church but not an entire culture that brutalizes women.
your silence in not condoning it is the same as supporting it.
Your response shows you don't support the plight of women in that culture.
It's a human rights issue the whole world should condemn and keep in the forefront and denounce not use Christianity as being the same because it's a lie and you know it.
You are a poor example of a "compassionate" liberal.

Shaw Kenawe said...

What you people here, in your fervor to hate Muslims, are forgetting is how culture can shape a religion.

There is no stoning to death or caning of women by Muslims in this country.

Because this sort of outrage happens in a third world country, it is not indicative of how Muslims behave in advanced societies--see the US and Canada, for example.

Christians in Uganda, with the help of fundamentalists in this country, tried to pass a law that would allow the death penalty for homosexuals.

"The proposed legislation in Uganda, however, has been noted by several news agencies to be inspired by American evangelical Christians. A special motion to introduce the legislation was passed a month after a two-day conference was held where three American Christians asserted that homosexuality was a direct threat to the cohesion of African families. The bill, the government of Uganda, and the evangelicals involved have received significant international media attention and criticism from Western governments, some of whom have threatened to cut off financial aid to Uganda. In response to the attention, a revision was introduced to soften the strongest penalties for the most egregious offenses to life imprisonment."

"Thirty-eight of fifty-three African nations criminalize homosexuality in some way."

The plight of gay people is just as horrific with Muslims, to be sure, but you guys believe Muslims are vile and cruel.

How do you explain Christian Africans (supported by American fundamentalists) wanting to kill people because of their sexual orientation?

Vile and cruel?

BTW, Lisa, it is ridiculous of you to imply that no one on the left condemns these awful actions by Muslims.

I don't recall hearing you or anyone else here condemn the proposed law to kill homosexuals in Uganda. Does that mean ALL righties are for killing gays people in Uganda and other parts of Africa?

Your statement is utter nonsense.

Lisa said...

My God Shaw is that your arguement?
I never heard you once denounce the way women and gays are treated in Muslim countries .....ever.
Saudi Arabia and Iran are far from Being 3rd world countires but I think you and your leftwing crowd are too focused on Christianity .
Nobody was talking about Muslims in tHis country although there has been a couple of cases of honor kiling here and in the UK. But I won't expect you to condemn that either. And if you are such a gay activist how come you don't denounce the way gays are treated in Muslim countries either? What are you afraid of?
You are such a champion of Islam so much that you won't even recgonize the brutality of how it treats its women and gays for that matter..
So like you always do to us why did you not comment on the original post instead of diverting the debate to Christianity?
It's not ridiculous of me to say the left doesn't condemn awful
actions by these Muslims because you never do.......ever.
All you do is defend it or bring Christianity into the mix like it's the same thing.

That video should sicken you to your core to have a women in a crowd like that getting whipped.
nd your silence just like XO is the same as supporting it.
So why don't you tell us how you felt watching it?
That pretty much was the point of the post.

Joe said...

"How do you explain Christian Africans...wanting to kill people because of their sexual orientation?

Yep.

And not representative of any aspect of Christianity.

Those administering the punishment of that woman were doing what the law required of them...the Muslim law.

There is no corresponding law that is representative of true Christianity.

It amazes me how quick the point of your post is turned as an alternative religion bashing session.

Look, man has flaws. You can't be a champion of human rights and not point out the flaws. The video is a clear and horrible example of acts done all over the world everyday. The vast cruelty is staggering at best. There are those here who apparently think we shouldn't condemn such behavior? They equate words to actions?

Decency and compassion should lead to condemnation of such horrible acts. There is no place for blame shifting or leveling the playing field arguments.

Shaw Kenawe said...

Oh Lisa, get over yourself.

Your accusations are ridiculous and sophomoric.

How on earth could anyone know every single outrage going on on this planet? You made a silly statement about all lefties. I made one to show you how absurd your reasoning is.

No one can know at all times the atrocities being committed by one group on another group, and not speaking out about any one outrage does not mean one supports it.

And to show you how sloppy you are in your thinking and reasoning, I absolutely DID say that Muslims' treatment of gays is horrific. Go read my original comment.

I will not bother to answer the rest of your comments, since you are not interested in rational dialog, only in accusing people of things they are not guilty of and whatever other feverish thoughts boil in your brain.

I stand by my premise that the more fundamental a religion--Muslim, Christian, Jewish, Hindu, any religion--the more intolerant and violent it is.

You don't see reformed Jews or Episcopalians wanting to punish or kill people for their sexual orientation.

Muslims need to experience a reformation, like the Christians did.

But don't forget, even 20th century reformed Christians saw nothing wrong with hanging American citizens from southern trees because they looked at a white person the wrong way and because they had the wrong color of skin. The last African American was murdered by hanging a mere 50 years ago.

Fundamentalist Muslims are as murderous as certain fundamentalist Christians were.

Don't kid yourselves about how superior your or anyone else's religion is.

Scotty said...

That could explain why I as a Christian wasn't aware of what was going on in Uganda.

My judgement would be, they're NOT Christians. There certainly isn't anything in the New Testament that could justify such actions.

I would also be concerned for the Westboro folks salvation....

The proposed legislation in Uganda, however, has been noted by several news agencies to be inspired by American evangelical Christians.

What fundamentalist groups here in the U.S.A. are backing the legislation in Uganda? If you know who they are I'd like names...who are the evangelicals backing this??

it is not indicative of how Muslims behave in advanced societies--see the US and Canada, for example.

http://www.jihadwatch.org/

I used to think like you Shaw, but then I did some research and reading. Have you read the Koran? I've been through it two times now making sure I understood what it said. It's not that difficult of a read.....

Leaving out Europe is indicative of nothing, and the assumption on your part is totally erroneous.

SCOTT: "I would also be concerned for the Westboro folks salvation...."

So in saying that I would assume that you're not concerned with Jehovah Witness's salvation, since you didn't mention them.

When we see the stories about suicide bombings and other attracts around the world, who are doing these things? It's always the Muslims, or at least 99.99 percent of the time it is. They sneak around innocent civilians and blow themselves up with explosives without a feeling of remorse. They just have no more regard for human life. We don't need to have our schools, hospitals over flowing with people that hate us. They want everything and they have nothing to give in return. Show me a Christian Church or a Jewish Synagogue in Mecca, and I'll agree to a Mosque at ground zero. Until then, forget it!!! From everything I've seen, Muslims cannot be trusted! You turn on people who consider you to be friends!!!! The example being Packistan training Taliban scumbags to kill American soldiers!!! And you want a Mosque at ground zero?!? I thing that homeland security should stop giving visas to those people. dont you understand that they only want to hurt us. They teach that in their mosques. The U.S. is crippled by political correctness. Most Americans associate the 9/11 terrorist attack with Islam/Muslims as I do. . So why consider building a mosque at Ground Zero? They are psychopaths. Shame on us for bending over backwards for them.

After Shaw’s accusations that fundamentalist and evangelical Christians were backing the death penalty legislation for homosexuals I did a little searching. It took all of twenty minutes.

Sometime in 2009 a workshop took place and it was about homosexuality. Three speakers were Scott Lively, Don Schmierer from Exodus International , who I might as, has been very successful in bringing people out of the homosexual lifestyle, and Caleb Lee Brundidge. I’m only a little bit familiar with Brundidge. He seems to rub elbows with some of the extreme prophetic folks, Patrician King, Rodney Browne and the like. I have opinions about those folks but I’ll keep them to myself.

From what I could ferret out on all this is that these folks spoke about freeing people from homosexuality through the power of Christ. And since then both Scott Lively and Exodus International has condemned this legislation.

Exodus International sent a letter to President Museveni stating, "The Christian church...must be permitted to extend the love and compassion of Christ to all. We believe that this legislation would make this mission a difficult if not impossible task to carry out."

Well there you have it……..it’s obvious they’re all guilty (tongue in cheek). BTW Rick Warren I understand does a lot of missionary work in Uganda has also condemned this law…..

Sorry about being so long winded, Joe.

You want to go tit for tat Shaw?
And the last Muslim girl killed by her father was less than 1 year ago in th Uk and about 2 years ago here in Texas. She wasn't the last and many have preceded her.
Oh and many women not Muslim are killed by their husbands or boyfriends.
And another point of matter is tha more than half the murders in the US are comiited by African Americans.

The below statistics were collected by an Australian reporter, Neil Sheehan, who dug out half-concealed U.S. crime figures for an article in the Sydney Morning Herald. The contents of his article, he commented, could not possibly be published or discussed in the U.S. mainstream media.

More than 1,600 Whites are murdered by blacks each year.
Blacks murder Whites at 18 times the rate Whites murder blacks.

About 1 million Whites were murdered, robbed, assaulted, or raped by blacks in 1992.

In the last 30 years, 170 million violent and nonviolent crimes were committed by blacks against Whites in the U.S.

Blacks under 18 are more than 12 times as likely to be arrested for murder than Whites the same age.

Some 90% of the victims of race crimes are Whites.

Blacks commit 7.5 times more violent interracial crimes than Whites, even though their population is only one-seventh the size of the White population.

On a per-capita basis, blacks commit 50 times more violent crimes than Whites.

Some 27 million nonviolent crimes were committed in the U.S. in 1992 alone. 31% of the robberies involved black offenders and White victims; only 2% involved White offenders and black victims.

1.3 million of the 6.6 million violent crimes committed in the U.S. each year are interracial.

Between 1964 and 1994, more than 45,000 people were killed in interracial murders in the U.S., compared to 58,000 Americans killed in Vietnam and 38,000 killed in Korea.

Here Shaw this one didn't make the headlines.

Shaw Kenawe said...

The one thing you don't seem to understand, Lisa, is that all of those stats you throw out are crimes committed where there is a reasonable chance that the perpetrators will be brought to justice for their crimes.

For 100+ years after the Civil War and the establishment of Jim Crow, Black Americans were systematically murdered and those who perpetrated the murders never were brought to justice. Those Af-Ams who were murdered were murdered only because they were black and they dared to try to participate in the American dream.

The stats you threw into these comments do not change the fact that southerners participated in terrorist activities against American citizens and the fact that a majority of them were never brought to justice for their crimes.

Talking about crime statistics is irrelevant to this.

That you don't see the difference between these two subjects only reinforces what we all know about the sort of nonsensical equivalency you try to shoe horn into the discussion.

It doesn't work, Lisa. Go Google more to discover why.

Lisa said...

Shaw how many Christians take those statements literally and follow through on them.

Oh and this statement you make:
Fundamentalist Muslims "are" as murderous as certain fundamentalist Christians "were".
Keywords "are" and "were".

Don't kid yourselves about how superior your or anyone else's religion is.
Islam is more of a culture not a religion and yes our culture is more superior when women aren't whipped in public for frivolous reasons.

So yes I feel I need to condemn it
and I will continue to condemn as long as it is part of their culture to treat women, mostly the way they do.
It should be exposed as often as possible to the rest of the world .

Lisa said...

Shaw you are the one who shifted the discussion with your righteousness. That's what liberals always do.
We were talikng about one thing and you off on something else so I was merely commenting on what you said regarding how a black person was hung 50 years ago.
Yes it was horrific and yes it is sad that it was a normal thing and what became of it? We had the civil rights movement,we have laws now to protect black people's rights.
So now Muslim wome living in those conditions need help too. So what I can't condemn it because black people were murdered in the south?

Shaw, you should take a course on how the Jews tell stories to make a point, in particular Rabbis, as Jesus was a Rabbi also……a teacher. What Jesus said in those verses(ALL the verses of that story) Luke 19: 11-28, was an illustration. It’s even more obvious when you cross reference it with Matthew 13: 10-16

Mat 13:10 The disciples asked him, "Why do you use stories as illustrations when you speak to people?"
Mat 13:11 Jesus answered, "Knowledge about the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you. But it has not been given to the crowd.
Mat 13:12 Those who understand these mysteries will be given more knowledge, and they will excel in understanding them. However, some people don't understand these mysteries. Even what they understand will be taken away from them.
Mat 13:13 This is why I speak to them this way. They see, but they're blind. They hear, but they don't listen. They don't even try to understand.
Mat 13:14 So they make Isaiah's prophecy come true: 'You will hear clearly but never understand. You will see clearly but never comprehend.
Mat 13:15 These people have become close-minded and hard of hearing. They have shut their eyes so that their eyes never see. Their ears never hear. Their minds never understand. And they never return to me for healing!'
Mat 13:16 "Blessed are your eyes because they see and your ears because they hear.

That could explain why you didn’t understand the first parable. Context context context, Shaw. It’s NOT a law as to how Christians are to operate it’s an illustration/story about what happens to people when they are given the gifts/abilities that God gives as and don’t use them.

The last part of that verse, But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence. When put in context makes perfect sense when you read:

Luk 19:41 When he came closer and saw the city, he began to cry.
Luk 19:42 He said, "If you had only known today what would bring you peace! But now it is hidden, so you cannot see it.
Luk 19:43 The time will come when enemy armies will build a wall to surround you and close you in on every side.

Jesus was talking about the destruction that was to come in 70 A.D.

"If a man abide not in me ... cast into fire" (John 15:6)

Again, Shaw, context you can’t take just that one verse and try to twist it into something to try and prove a point. You have to keep that verse within the whole context of that Chapter. Jesus is tell you who he is. In fact Chapter 14 is a perfect lead in to Chapter 15. Verse 6 is a view of what happens when somebody doesn’t trust in Jesus for their salvation. It’s God’s judgment.

It has nothing to do with Christians murdering as you try to make it so.

Scotty said...

"Whoever kills you will think he does God a service"
(John 16:2, 3)

Context again, Shaw.

Joh 16:1 Jesus continued, "I have said these things to you so that you won't lose your faith.
Joh 16:2 You will be thrown out of synagogues. Certainly, the time is coming when people who murder you will think that they are serving God.
Joh 16:3 They will do these things to you because they haven't known the Father or me.
Joh 16:4 But I've told you this so that when it happens you'll remember what I've told you. I didn't tell you this at first, because I was with you.

He’s telling his followers that they are going to be killed and the people doing it will think they are doing it in service to God. Much like many Muslims do today.

Shaw, do yourself a favor and don’t use Scripture to try to make some abstract point about Christians you have. You don’t know what you’re doing and it makes you look very foolish.

You seem to have an anger towards Christians but if I were to guess you’re angry with God about something. You need to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior.

SK: "But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence." (Luke 19:26-27).

If you have the slightest inkling that these are the words of Jesus telling people to kill His enemies, you are totally incapable of reading and interpreting Scripture. This is Jesus telling what another person said, not Himself.

I suspect you knew that (although I'm not certain) and deliberately chose it because you really can't find any place where Jesus led anyone to murder.

"If a man abide not in me ... cast into fire" (John 15:6,)has nothing to do with murder at all by any stretch of interpretation...not related at all.

"Whoever kills you will think he does God a service"
(John 16:2, 3)

This is a prediction by Jesus of the attitudes of what lies ahead for committed Christians, and, again, has nothing to do with instructing someone to murder.

If you are going to quote Scripture to someone who has taught it for over 50 years (aside from the pure arrogance of it), at least get it in its immediate context and the context of the Scripture as a whole.

Quoting scripture exactly you can find the following: "Judas went and hanged himself." "Go thou and do likewise." "What thou doest do quickly."

But that certainly is not the meaning of ANY part of Scripture.

Quote any Scripture you want to that really says what you are trying to illustrate, even if it proves me wrong on something. But don't use Scripture to make some perverted point that it does not support.

That is as bad as direct lying.

You are not a liar, are you?

Not once, ever, did Jesus promote or lead us to murder.

Muhammad did.
