WHO DO YOU TRUST?

DANGER! DANGER! THE SKY IS FALLING! SEQUESTRATION IS THE NEXT WORSE THING THAN CASTRATION! WE'RE DOOMED.

Yes, indeed! We are doomed because 2% of the INCREASE in the budget will be cut!

Two percent...not of the budget, of the budget INCREASE.

Only a politician would consider a decrease of the increase a decrease...a politician and most liberals.

That is a stupid as it gets.

Let's see. I spent $10 on groceries last week. This week I will spend $12. Now that I've thought about it I think I'll just spend $11. Oh! Look! I just decreased my grocery spending by $1!

Why does my checking account have $1 less than last week? Answer, according to liberals, because I decreased my spending.

With regard to the truth about sequestration, who can tell?

Up until THE MORNING OF Friday, March 1, 2013, sequestration was going to kick in at 11:59 plus one minute THURSDAY NIGHT! Every MSM source said so, as they were simultaneously telling us how catastrophic it would be. So did our fearless leader, President BO (the amateur president). FRIDAY was to be the day sequestration would begin.

Suddenly, it wouldn't kick in until Midnight FRIDAY NIGHT!

What happened?

I'll tell you exactly what happened.

Every single politician, every reporter for every newspaper, every TV journalist, every liberal blog, every liberal talk show host and even the Emperor, himself,  made the same mistake.

Not a one of them could figure it out and if they did, they were too intimidated to correct those who got it wrong.

If you believe that, I have a bridge...oh, never mind.

But we should trust them.

This reminds me of the "Day without a Mexican" protest. Liberals thought if Mexicans stayed home for a day, the country would collapse without cooks, maids, nannies and gardeners. Nobody even noticed. It was like the passing of a distant comet.

And, remember NOW's boycott of Florida orange juice because it was advertised on Rush Limbaugh? Neither does anyone else.

Yet, liberals will still believe every word that comes out of this Chicago thug's mouth.

They have no relationship with Truth

Joe, you're dead wrong. The sequester is $85B per year. Unless the budget INCREASE is $4T per year, you're wrong. It's 2.4% of the total budget.

It's a cut on discretionary spending only. That's about 30% of the total budget so it's closer to an 8% cut. Apparently an 8% cut to defense is 'gutting' the military but 8% cut in services, infrastructure, research, education, transportation, veterans benefits, energy and the environment, etc, won't even be noticed.

So, you've fallen for the MSM's reporting on this issue, is that right?

Craig: You might try these two sites:

CBPP

OMB

Don't forget to read the footnotes.

This is from the first site you posted,

Broadly speaking, for 2013 the across-the-board cuts will mean about an 8.4 percent cut in most affected non-defense discretionary programs, a 7.5 percent cut in affected defense programs, an 8.0 percent cut in affected mandatory programs other than Medicare, and a 2.0 percent cut in Medicare provider payments.

This is from the second,

Under the assumptions required for this report about the level of discretionary appropriations for FY 2013, and without additional changes to direct spending, this report’s calculations show a sequestration of 9.4 percent for defense function discretionary appropriations
and 10.0 percent for defense function direct spending.
The corresponding sequestration percentages for the nondefense function would be a reduction of 8.2 percent for discretionary
appropriations and 7.6 percent for direct spending.

Sorry, I didn't read all 394 pages of the OMB report. I'm sure you did so maybe you could point me to the part that backs up your claim that,
Two percent...not of the budget, of the budget INCREASE.

That is not even close to being true. The sequestration is a cut to the budget no matter how you slice it. And, that's on top of the $1T cuts extracted already by taking the debt ceiling hostage.

I did get one thing wrong. I listed vets benefits in the list of things getting the ax. They're exempt.

I remember the Anita Bryant dust up. Destroyed that bigot.

The drive home from work this morning was really interesting.

A Boeing 777 had to land on the highway, because there were no traffic controllers at Reagan International.

I counted three houses on fire, because firemen have been furloughed.

The Pentagon parking lot was totally empty.

On the other hand, I was able to get my Vette up to 165, because there were no state troopers on the roads.

Hail the sequestration!

On a school bus in our county, three kids jumped another kid who had a gun and was threatening to shoot somebody. The three wrestled the gun away from the would be shooter. Now the three kids have been suspended.

The school board in Lee County makes notoriously liberal decisions. This is the way they think.

The world is calling good "bad," and bad "good." It has nothing to do with sequestration, which amounts to a drop in the ocean.

Joe, you fibbin' again?

Joe, I dug around a bit more and found an article which stated that a mother of one of the three students claims they were suspended bu there was no statement from the school.

Since unsubstantiated statements are as good as facts in fringe right world I may have to retract.

Obama is such a cry baby. Instead of trying to talk to the senate dems and reps about sequester he wastes money flying around the country to do photo ops to campaign against it. This is our president. President crybaby.

Actaully I don't even think he plans anything. I think his entire presidency is run by others and he is just a figure head.

Ducky: "You fibbin again?"

No.

"...there was no statement from the school."

Yeah. And they aren't going to really tell the mom until after lunch on Monday.

Well, let's assume, for the sake of argument, that they weren't suspended. What reason would the school board have for keeping that a secret, and why did the mom think they had been suspended? (Hint: She was told by some official).
