Joe - My four year old granddaughter has me read a book about Easter over and over and she keeps asking me why Jesus had to die.

Some day she will understand the glory of it all. It's sometimes beyond our comprehension though isn't it. For all of us.

Happy Palm Sunday - Joe.

The problem with this version is that it demonstrates Smith lacked imagination to the point he stole from Isaac Watts, but he also left out a very important verse.

sh: It is, indeed.

GEC: I think he was trying to put it in a new setting.

I understand how so many "modern" artists don't understand the value of the classic hymns and think they need improving. I think he was just trying to appeal to a new audience.

Much of what passes for praise music is pretty shallow. Some of it is just badly written. This one does have some appeal to me, though.

Christians are always trying to please the current culture and fit in with it, rather than doing as they should and MAKING the culture.
