LEGAL TO HUNT WHAT?

If you listen long enough to liberals, you actually learn things you never knew before.

Here, Dianne Feinstein of California has educated me about hunting. I never knew it was legal to hunt humans.

I have seen some movies about people hunting people, but I didn't realize you could actually do it.

sh: I don't know. Sometimes I feel like a target, but I didn't know it was legal to hunt me.

Xavier Onassis said...

Of course it's not legal to hunt humans.

She referring to the fact that it IS legal to buy ridiculously large capacity magazines for automatic weapons whose ONLY purpose is killing humans. Lots of them. Really fast.

Even big game hunters or game preserve wardens who have to be able to take down elephants and rhinos use single shot 400-500 caliber rifles. They don't stand there pumping 50-100 rounds from an AR-15 into them.

Large capacity magazines have 1 purpose...the wholesale slaughter of human beings. That's all.

No one should be able to buy them. They should be issued to authorized military or law enforcement personnel on an as-needed basis and retrieved when that need no longer exists.

I also favor setting a tax on every round of ammunition that would make ammunition very expensive.

You can buy a box of 50 Winchester 45 auto, 230 grain, jacketed hollow point slugs for just $36.00. These bullets are designed to kill human beings. Even human beings wearing body armor. And they cost less than 75 cents each.

But if there was a mandatory tax of say, $5.00 per shell, that box of 50 goes up to about $286.00. That's $5.72 per round.

And how about another mandatory tax on all gun sales. The higher the caliber, the higher the tax.

Add to that a law that says all gun owners must carry high priced liability insurance to cover any damage, injury or death caused by their guns with mandatory jail time for NOT having insurance on a gun in your possession.

Then we would have real, enforceable gun control legislation that does not violate the 2nd Amendment in any way, shape or form.

You still have the right to bear arms. But it will cost you more money and hold you personally accountable for doing so.

Joe said...

XO: "Large capacity magazines have 1 purpose...the wholesale slaughter of human beings. That's all. No one should be able to buy them."

Target practice and self defense.

Anyone should be able to buy them unless a felon or mentally unstable.

Yeah. Bad guys follow the law. And they pay their taxes and they never use the black market or steal guns from others. They never smuggle them across the border. So just tax the general public...the good guys and/or take their guns away. Let the bad guys reign!

(Don't we already have laws against shooting people? How many mass shooters did those laws stop? (Please list them)

While we're at it, why don't we tax everything liberals don't like so people won't be able to afford what ever that is.

Freedom isn't free, it costs $5.72 cents per round.

Xavier Onassis said...

Jo Joe - "Target practice and self defense."

You don't need a 100 round clip for target practice and if you think you need one for self defense than you are either such a lousy shot that you probably shouldn't own a gun in the first place or you are delusional and paranoid about the number of home invaders you think are coming after the Krugerrands stashed in the shoe box under your
bed.

"Anyone should be able to buy them unless a felon or mentally unstable."

Anyone who thinks they need one is, by definition, mentally unstable.

"Bad guys...steal guns from others."

They can't steal them from people who don't have them because they can't afford them.

"So just tax the general public...the good guys and/or take their guns away. Let the bad guys reign!"

I don't think the "general public" who insist on keeping loaded firearms in their homes are the "good guys". I think they are the core of the problem.

"Don't we already have laws against shooting people?"

Yes, we do. Those laws allow us to prosecute, sentence and jail people who shoot people.

When we have laws against owning large capacity magazines and requiring people to carry liability insurance covering each and every firearm in their possession, then we'll be able to prosecute, sentence and jail people who break those laws too.

Wow, that would be one heck of a weapon with a 100-round "clip." I think you mean "magazine." But even then, I don't know of any rifle with a 100-round magazine. Most I know about are 30-round types, and I used that for target practice all the time. Saved lots of time reloading.

By the way, the DHS sure is preparing for war on American citizens. Or haven't you notice their purchase of 1.6 billion rounds of various types of ammo, and military vehicles (already patrolling cities), and uniforms. Sounds like Nazi Germany to me.

Joe said...

XO: Live on in your fantasy world that criminals won't be able to steal guns because people "don't have them."

Criminals will always find a way to express their deviance.

You knew that, didn't you?

GEC: Don't you just love the way liberals continually talk about things they don't know?

It does wonders for their credibility.

G.E.C - How about a dual drum 100 round magazine for your AR-15?

www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/mobile/product/411551785/redirect

Guess you don't get out much.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

X.O.,
I get out plenty, but I've never seen a drum magazine for an AR-15. The point is that it isn't common, and it isn't a clip.

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - They must be fairly common (and easy to get). The guy who opened up in that movie theater in Colorado had one of those on his AR-15. He wasn't there for target practice or venison, was he?

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - By the way, that drum has a feed rate of up to 1500 rounds per minute. Let's see, 1500 divided by 60 = 25. So at a rate of 25 rounds per second a shooter could empty the entire 100 round drum in 4 seconds. There is no other purpose for something like that except killing a lot of people real quick.

I think a person should have to prove that they have a legitimate, lawful need to be able to kill a lot of people real quick.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

X.O.
While the magazine may have that capability, there is no AR-15 with that capabilty. That rate of fire is only with machine-guns. You need to brush up a bit.

So what is wrong with having a weapon and ammuntion with the sole purpose of killing a human being? That, after all, is the point of self-defense. And that includes defending against tyrants who are building their own private army called DHS.

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - Correction duly noted. The rate of fire of an AR-15 is about 50 rounds per minute. So it would take a shooter a full 2 minutes of carnage to empty that clip.

And as for your claim that the DHS is building a private Army, you have one again proved that you are cuckoo for coca puffs and clearly to mentally imbalanced to be allowed to own anything more powerful than a B.B. gun.

As for defending yourself against tyrants, that may have been possible when both the tyrant and the citizen we eqully matched with muskets and black powder.

But I don't care how many guns and how many rounds of ammo you have in your Doomsday Prepper redoubt, whenthe tryant drops a smart bomb on it or picks you off with a Predator drone, you won't stand a chance. So you can give up your delusional fantasy about going manno a mano against Uncle Sam. That ship sailed 150 years ago.

You need some serious therapy and quite possibly some meds to correct that chemical imbalance in that lump of inert gray matter that's masquerading as a brain.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

If you haven't been reading news reports that is your problem.
As noted previously, the amount of ammunition they have already acquired and still gathering will support a full-scale war for almost 20 years. They have been acquirement all sorts of armored military vehicles, and are not getting all new uniforms.

What do the DHS need with all that ammo, why do they need armored vehicles, etc? Almost daily it is in the news about all the new restrictions by the DHS and their new drones, etc. What other purpose will this provide except to shut down opposition to the tyranny of Obama and his ilk who already have stomped all over the Constitution.

Don't claim it is for border security - the Democrats have fought against that forever, because keeping illegals coming just means more votes for them.

Yeah, we are crazy - just like those who worried about the Brits taking away rights just before the Revolution.

You are in denial, or else you are with them

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - "If you haven't been reading news reports that is your problem."

I am a news junkie! I follow the REAL news like an addict. I'm online all day long, every day, following the news. But this paranoid crap that you are quoting isn't news!

"As noted previously, the amount of ammunition they have already acquired and still gathering will support a full-scale war for almost 20 years. They have been acquirement all sorts of armored military vehicles, and are not getting all new uniforms."

The only place I've heard reports of this are from the same media outlets who think secret government bases in Alaska are carrying out Weather Wars that cause Superstorms like Sandy in order to further the Liberal Climate Change agenda.

Let me take a step back and ask a question.

Do you think that the Department of Homeland Security (an organization created by George W. Bush that has the most Nazi-like name EVER), an organization charged with protecting America from foreign terrorists shouldn't have bullets guns and armoured vehicles?

Should they only drive 1974 Dodge Darts and carry a quiver of pointy sticks? Would that make America safer from the scarey terrorist boogeymen?

Plus, if your rediculous paranoid fantasies about a tyranical American government out to trash the Constitution and enslave the American people were true, why the hell would they be arming DHS when they have the Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Air Force, Marines, enough armed Predator drones to block out the sun and thousands of nuclear warheads ready to launch?

If your worst fears became a reality, you would be dead on day one.

There's no "resistance", there's no "rebellion". There's no "revolution".

If the "Gubment" becomes the Big Bad Overlord that you seem to be pissing your pants worrying about, you and your Tea Party, Libertarian, Right Wing Nut Jobs become as threatening as a mosquito is to a rhinoceros.

The only threat you pose is as a mentally unstable individual who may be in the posession of weapons that can endanger your immediate, law abiding neighbors.

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C.-"What other purpose will this provide except to shut down opposition to the tyranny of Obama and his ilk who already have stomped all over the Constitution"

You are INSANE!

Name one thing that the Obama Administration done that has been ruled to be unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.

Because you don't get to define what "stomping all over the Constitution" is based on your mindless regurgitation of your O'Reilly-Hannity-Coulter-Beck-Ailes brain implant.

There are actual legal processes defined in the Constitution that decide what is and is not Constitutional.

Those precesses reside in the Supreme Court.

Not in crazy blog comments by irrational, right wing zealots.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

X.O.,
if you have missed the reports of the DHS arsenal, etc, then the news you follow is worthless. The information has even been in the liberal news reports I read.

Call it paranoia, but the real paranoid is you and your ilk who are afraid to allow law-abiding citizens to posses legal weapons.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

X.O.
The only irrational zealot here is you.

You are in denial - and I don't mean that river in Egypt.

Obama AND his Supreme court have both trounced the Constitution. The SCOTUS claimed Obamacare was Constitutional by calling it a tax, when no one else called it that and it is apparent to anyone but a complete fool that it is government takeover of health care and fines on people who refuse. A fine is punishment - not a tax.

His continual usurping Congress by his fiat executive orders is unconstitutional but allowed by a gutless congress. His refusal to defend the lawful DOMA is unconstitutional. His refusal to protect our borders from illegals as well as his granting of amnesty are treasonous.

But you being a liberal live for the government nanny to run you life. You couldn't do without it and you think everyone else should have government control from cradle to grave - if they let you get to the cradle and IF they don't hurry you to the grave.

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - You really are quite the gullible fellow. You need to get a better news source than Alex Jones. www.snopes.com/politics/guns/ssabullets.asp

And none of the things you said were unconstitutional were unconstitutional. You claiming that they means absolutely nothing. Nada. Zip.

Glenn E. Chatfield said...

First, I get my news from all sorts of sites, including the liberal MSNBSC and CNN.

Second, Snopes can't be trusted with anything political because of the liberal beliefs of their owners.

Third, I've never seen the absurd claims which they have in the article.

Sorry to disappoint you, you gullible liberal lemming.

Just googled and I found:
http://www.forbes.com/sites/ralphbenko/2013/03/11/1-6-billion-rounds-of-ammo-for-homeland-security-its-time-for-a-national-conversation/

I supposed you'd say this is a right-wing deluded report.
This one is right-wing, but has an accurate report:
http://www.wnd.com/2013/03/why-does-obama-need-1-6-billion-bullets/

This Huffington Post article mentions Alex Jones, who I haven't read or heard, and it also gives the gov't excuses for the need of such amounts of ammo to be purchased. Funny how the government never did this before.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/14/homeland-security-bullets_n_2688402.html

Believe what you want, liberal, until even you lose YOUR freedoms.

Xavier Onassis said...

G.E.C. - On the Forbes piece did you even bother to click through to the AP article? Of course not.

"The Homeland Security Department wants to buy more than 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition in the next four or five years.

Published federal notices about the ammo buy have agitated conspiracy theorists since the fall. That's when conservative radio host Alex Jones spoke of an "arms race against the American people" and said the government was "gearing up for total collapse, they're gearing up for huge wars."

The government's explanation is less sinister. Federal solicitations to buy the ammo are known as "strategic sourcing contracts," which help the government get a low price for a big purchase, says Peggy Dixon, spokeswoman for the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Ga. The training center and others like it run by the Homeland Security Department use as many as 15 million rounds every year, mostly on shooting ranges and in training exercises."

The Diane West "WND" article was full of absolute and total crap, unsubstantiated by actual facts.

The Huffington Post article confirmed that the government is spending it's money smarter by buying in bulk. That should make you happy! Or do you prefer government waste?

Let me make sure I understand your view of the world. Because this is important.

Based soley on your comments on this blog, this is how you see the world.

1. You are surrounded by people who are constantly plotting and conspiring to kick your door in, invade your home rape your women, take all your stuff and then kill you so have to be armed to the teeth and vigilant 24/7.

2. Your own democratically elected American government is corrupt, evil, power hungry and is intent on taxing you at 100%, taking away all your money so it can give it to other people that they aren't taxing at all.

3. Your own democratically elected American government is determined to shred the Constitution and the Bill of Rights and send U.N. or D.H.S. Storm Troopers across the land taking away peoples guns and imprisoning them in FEMA camps.

4. Your democratically elected American government is determined to throw open the Mexican border, let anyone in who wants in, grant them full American citizenship and give them dibs on jobs that should be going to Americans.

5. The United States is the Greatest Country on Earth, people from all over the world are struggling to come here because things are so much worse in their homeland.

Do you not realize how completely insane your world view is??? Seriously???

If I had the view of the world that you do, I'd probably just grab one of those loaded guns that are always within arms reach (just in case) and leave.

What a horrible, threatened, paranoid, miserable life you have.

I feel sorry for you. That is so sad.

If these ammunition purchases were for the military, I’d accept the idea that it was for cost reasons. The DHS is not the military, nor was it ever intended to be. The military’s mission is first and foremost “homeland security.” Yet the Obama Administration is building the DHS into a separate military force.

Yes I did go to the AP article and I saw nothing there to support what DHS is doing.

Your “understanding” of my worldview is so far off base it isn’t even funny. I arm myself for two main reasons: I love target practice (and am quite good; used to be on a rifle team, awarded expert marksmanship badge in the Army, etc). The other reason is self defense. While you may not have lived in areas of constant violence where being prepared to defend oneself is prudent, I have. And as I have previously pointed out, the very real threat to do me harm during the ATC strike was thwarted by my possession of a Ruger Mini-14 with a 30 round magazine.

I do know that the government in general, and especially this administration, has every intent to revoke most of the rights of the Constitution. We’ve lost many rights to LEFTIST groups already. But if the government comes wanting my guns, I will turn them over because as a Christian that is what I am called to do. If I suffer for it, so be it.

This current administration is indeed very evil, and liberal policies have always been to tax and spend so as to bring about economic ruin, thereby forcing a socialist government takeover. This current administration and even in many of the states is even more nanny-government than any previous administration. For crying out loud, no liberal has complained about the outlawing if 32 oz soft drinks in NY! Obamacare has already increase my health care costs exponentially.

This government under Obama is indeed totally lax about border security, and rewards illegals. THAT is a fact. And the pandering to Islam will bring more and more of them over here as more and more of our rights are taken away so they can practice sharia law - look at Europe and then tell me I’m paranoid.

The insane worldview is yours. You sit in lala land thinking everything is going fine as your rights are removed little by little. But as long as you get all your “freebies” from the gov’t you don’t care.

GEC: Don't you realize that the thing to do if accosted in your own home or car is to offer the intruder a cup of tea, call 911 and ask him to wait until the police get there (on the average 20+minutes, but even if it were 5 minutes you'd be dead).

The alternative would be to give the intruder what he wants and hope against hope that he would leave without beating you up, stabbing you or shooting you.

Whatever you do, don't try to defend yourself with anything more powerful than a BB gun! Even that should not be sitting around loaded, you might shoot the intruder's eye out.

Can you say, "Law suit?"

You video about CCW people being unable to really defend themselves and others has been proven wrong time and again. Three times this week I read of a CCW person saving themselves or someone else. It happens almost every day.

The story about a guy losing his gun from his holster just demonstrates that there may be a very, very small minority of people who are careless. Much fewer than are those behind the wheel of a motor vehicle. So you want to penalize everyone for the act of one in a million?

How much of the article about Florida murders is factual is in doubt, coming from the source it comes from.

But you don't care. If you treated drivers the way you want gun owners treated, there would probably be fewer than 1000 licensed drivers!

Xavier Onassis said...

You are a very sick man and you really need to get some help. I fear for the safety of those around you.

It would not surprise me a bit to see a headline that you opened fire and killed a UPS delivery man because you thought he was a covert DHS operative sent by the U.N. to confiscate your guns and bibles.

Not. Surprised. At. All.
