That's it!
I give up!
They've won me over.
I have decided that I want an electric car!
Yep!
As soon as I can have one big enough to carry me (no mean task), my wife, my two kids and my two grandchildren, my two dogs and all of the luggage we will need for a trip from Florida to California.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
As soon as I can have one that will do all that and still go 0 - 60 mph in under 12 seconds.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
As soon as I can have one that will maintain 70 mph for 300 - 400 miles per day.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
As soon as I can have one that will recharge overnight, and will work if I have a middle-of-the-night emergency.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that - without the recharging part.
As soon as I can have one that can play my CDs, run my GPS, play the radio, and run the air conditioner and/or heater (I live in Southwest Florida...not a big demand for that heater thing).
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
As soon as I can have one that has plush, comfortable seats and ample storage space for spare tires, jacks, a lug wrench and assorted tools.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
As soon as I can have one that can do all that and costs under $30,000.00.
My present gasoline powered Honda will do that.
Wait!
I think I just talked (wrote) myself out of it.
With all due respect to the planet, I think I'll just keep my gasoline powered Honda...if you don't mind.
Even if you do.

Ah yes, the electric car.
Smart and sassy!
And if you're 5'2" and weigh 98 lbs., you'll fit quite comfortably in the little putt-putt (or is it hum-hum?)!!!
Hi Joe, I just read your comment on that "Pie in the Sky" blog Conservative Convictions. And i just came here to say Bravo to you.
You and a small handful of others seem to be the only sane ones there.
That is with those people? Do they really think that giving up their Conservative Convictions and "Supporting that Pipsqueak of a Commie President that all will be fine again. Can't they see the Commie redness in his eyes?
Oh, well I don't think it makes any difference anyhow, we are doomed for at least 4 years, lets just hope that we don't sink to low by then.
Keep up the fight, I know that I will.
Regards
Walt
Joe, now "His Highness" has revoked the restrictions on states to mandate stricter emission control standards.
This, if approved by whatever committee does the approval thing, will automatically raise the price of a new car by over $5,000.00.
I don't think it will make a difference in a few years whether you want a gas powered car or an electric one. You won't be able to afford either.
Better get in shape! Walking, or even bicycling to work in the Florida heat and humidity will not be either comfortable or healthy.
PCC: I vaguely remembe 98 pounds.
I think I was in second grade.
WW: Thanks for stopping by. I, for one, am not one to "just get along." I fuss and scrap all the way. I write my representatives until they get tired of hearing from me, expecially the Republicans, 'cause I think they have become mealy-mouthed cowards who cannot make any noise.
Mark: not to mention possible.
I'll take whatever is available, affordable and maintainable. Gas, Electric, Solar, Methane, whatever.
Shoprat: Don't forget useful.
Just give me a good ol' '63 1/2 Galaxie Fastback 390 FE!
