I don't watch Hannity, but I came across this video of an interview he tried to do with Keith Ellison (D-MN).
Like every liberal/leftist/progressive Democrat I have ever heard, Ellison plays the little child's game of "I'm rubber, you're glue. Everything you say bounces off of me and sticks on you."
Ellison starts out by telling Hannity, "You are the worse excuse for a journalist I've ever seen."
Whether that is true or not, no person with any sense of decorum would start an interview that way. Keith Ellison has no sense of decorum.
To top it off, Ellison accused Hannity of "Yellow Journalism," telling him that he does not tell the American people anything close to what's really going on. Then he uses bullying tactics for the rest of the interview to NOT take the opportunity to tell the American people what's really going on.
He was belligerent, he wouldn't let Hannity speak, even after Hannity gave him several minutes to speak without interruption, and he repeatedly just said back to Hannity the same words Hannity had just said about him.
It reminded me of the arguments Ricky and David used to have on the Ozzie and Harriet show. "Did not!" "Did too!" "Did not!" "Did too!" ad infinitum.
Here's Keith Ellison on Hannity.
Now, I fault Hannity for a couple of things. First, he said, "Let me ask you a question," without actually stating his question up front. Instead he went into a lengthy background for his question, which gave Ellison the chance to interrupt him and throw his tripe at him.
Secondly, Hannity fell into the trap laid by Ellison every time Ellison said something bad about Hannity. Instead of pressing on, Hannity chose to respond to the attack as though he was going to be able to make the "accusations" go away.
Those are poor interview techniques and somebody should help Hannity get past them.
Nevertheless, Ellison behaved like a little child, showed himself for who he really is, was ill mannered, was unresponsive and made a fool of himself.
He is the perfect representation of the liberal/left/progressive tactic in every argument in which they ever engage.
(Note: The point of this post is not Hannity, it is Ellison's behavior. Let's do something different and see if we can stick to the subject.)

I'm gonna post something, but I'm gonna tell you what about my post you can comment on!
You can't comment on anything else!
Just what I say you can comment on.
Because if I don't control the comments, someone might completely undermine the whole premise of my post and make me look like an idiot.
So don't comment on that. Just accept the premise of my post as inviolate and comment on what I tell you to comment on.
I watched the video and I thought Keith Ellison won the debate HANDS DOWN by stopping Hannity from perpetuating outright lies (which is the core feature of his program).
Keith Ellison refused to be talked over, refused to be subservient and asserted himself and insisted on stating his point of view.
I love all of these conservative who claim "I don't watch O'Reilly or Hannity, I don't listen to Glenn Beck or Rush Limbaugh or Alex Jones, but here is a clip from their program today that reinforces everything I believe! WATCH IT! But only comment on the part I want you to comment on because I said so and I don't want you to make me look like a hypocrite or an idiot."
XO: "I watched the video and I thought Keith Ellison won the debate HANDS DOWN..."
Why am I not surprised.
The typical liberal has neither manners nor decorum. They don't know why we should have either.
Ellison never did answer Hannity's question(s). If Hannity lies, well he'll be caught at it. Ellison just acted like a typical liberal...a fool. I'm not even certain it was an act.
I don't watch O'Reilly or Hannity because I don't have cable and they're not available over the air.
I don't even know who Alex Jones is.
It's my blog. I get to define the point of my posts. That's the way it is. Get used to it.
My point was not to agree or disagree with Hannity, it was the rude, uncivilized, ill mannered behavior of Ellison.
His arguments were stellar...not.
By the way, you're fond of "requiring" me to be specific. List a lie or two Hannity told in the video. If you know of others he has told, where did you learn about them? Don't tell me YOU watch Hannity! That would be ironic.
Minnesota can be proud.
Nice job, Craig. Kind of compensates for Bachmann.
Ducky: ????
Hannity comes out with the usual unsupported nonsense and Ellison decides it's not going to be business as usual.
Good on him. Too many people roll over for the likes of bimbos like Limbaugh, O'Reilly, Hannity et. al.
Ellison gave you the choice between boiler plate lies (Hannity) and an intelligent statement (Ellison). You should thank Rep. Ellison.
Ducky: If you think he made even one intelligent statement in that "interview," you are demented. He did not want to be interviewed, and did not allow himself to be interviewed.
Typical liberal coward.
no matter what people's opinions Ellison came off like a typical yappy left wing loon who thinks they are above all. The whole democrat party has become the party of belligerence led by President crybaby himself.
They are all so bitter you would think Obama lost the election.
Jo Joe- "Don't tell me YOU watch Hannity! That would be ironic."
I watch Hannity and O'Reilly on occasion. I'll download a podcast of Limbaugh or Beck.
How on earth would I know what they are saying and decide whether or not I agree with them if I didn't listen to what they are saying?
Every single one of them employ the same technique. While interviewing a guest, either friendly or hostile, they will toss out incredibly outrageous and unsubstantiated claims and then exercise their control over their program to change the subject before they can be challenged.
It goes like this...
[concluding an interview segment] "Well, based on the reports we're getting it's clear that Obama is a Muslim terrorist born in Kenya, funded by Bill Ayers and he is clearly intent on destroying America and eating our babies."
[holding up a hand, palm first, with a pen laced between the thumb, index and middle finger]
"But lets move on! I want to talk about these latest unemployment numbers!"
Like all conservatives, they realize that they cannot allow themselves to be challemged by actual facts because their fragile positions cannot withstand close scrutiny.
XO: I cannot argue with you about their techniques because I don't watch or listen to them. I can argue with you about the technique used in THIS interview.
Hannity did NONE of what you said. He was not able to complete most of his questions because of the rudeness of his "guest," which you don't seem able to recognize.
He was also defensive, which I pointed out was a fault.
I used to listen to Limbaugh every day back when I worked crazy hours that left me awake in the middle of the day, but I never heard him use those techniques back then, ever.
I think maybe you should prove your claim with some links to examples.
Joe, I would agree with you, Ellison went overboard. He was obviously reacting to Hannity's hit piece that preceded the interview. You have a point but then you go and say something stupid like,
He is the perfect representation of the liberal/left/progressive tactic in every argument in which they ever engage.
I will agree with you on another point. When Ellison said,
"You are the worse excuse for a journalist I've ever seen."
The word 'journalist', even 'worst journalist' should never be associated with Hannity. He is a propagandist, nothing more.
Keith is my Rep. I first met him when he was my state Rep. and he was running for Martin Sabo's seat in congress. I can't say I know him well but I do know he doesn't suffer fools, like Hannity, gladly. This wasn't his first time on Fox. He was asked by Beck to assure him he wasn't a terrorist, being Muslim and all. He's been accused of having ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and generally suspicious because of his religion.
I see Hannity took time on his show the next 4 nights to compare Ellison to the KKK, accuse him of close ties to Farrakhan and antisemitism because he attended the million man march. He is routinely smeared by Hannity and others on Fox. He lost his cool and treated Hannity like Hannity treats guests if they disagree by steamrolling them.
Far from being a typical liberal tactic, he decided to screw decorum and tell Hannity, to his face, what he thought of him. I wish there were more like him.
Craig: If I understand you correctly, because Hannity is a poor interviewer, or a propagandist, or whatever HE is, it is alright for Ellison to be one too?
Do you actually think the Ricky Nelson/David Nelson method is appropriate for Ellison to have adopted?
How effective was it in changing the way Hannity does his thing?
So it's not "the ends justify the means." It's just pure baby-ism.
"Far from being a typical liberal tactic,..."
What does that even mean in the context of that sentence?
Ellison is a liberal and he used that tactic. It is a tactic I have seen liberals use over and over again.
