Peoples' skin (White, Black, Red, Yellow, etc.) has gotten so thin that our very language is becoming unusable.
Stop it! Get over it! Nobody thinks any more or less of you as a person, regardless of your skin color or ethnic origin, because of a football team's name!
What is wrong with you? Get an ever-lovin'-blue-eyed life!

1. Absolutely no foul language (including the use of asterisks). If you are not man or woman enough to control your language, you are not welcome here...go somewhere else.
Yer funny, Joe.
Craig: I know it is difficult for liberals to resist spinning meanings. They cannot help it. It's what they do.
Thin skin and foul language are not related.
Neither are names of tribes and redskins. Except in a foul way.
Joe - You make a good point here.
This is an old one, but very incomplete. The Army has long used Indian names for their aircraft. In fact, Black Hawk (H-60 series) is the first with a particular Indian's name rather than a tribal name. Here's the line-up they've had since the 1950s:
H-13 Sioux
H-19 Chickasaw
H-21 Shawnee
H-34 Choctaw
H-37 Mojave
H-41 Seneca
H-47 Chinook
H-48, H-1 Iroquois
H-54 Tarhe
H-55 Osage
H-56 Cheyenne
H-58 Kiowa
H-64 Apache
H-66 Comanche
H-70 Arapaho
H-72 Lakota
H-6 Cayuse
C-12 Huron
L-23/U-8 Seminole
T-41 Mescalaro
T-42 Cochise
U-21 Ute
OV-1 Mohawk
UV-20 Cherokawa
Piper aircraft also names their planes after Indian tribes. (or Indian weapons, such as Arrow, Tomahawk)
PA-28 series is Cherokee, Warror, and Dakota
PA-23 Apache and Aztec
PA-24 Comanche, PA-30/39 Twin Comanche
PA-31 Navajo and Navajo Chieftain
PA-34 Seneca
PA-44 Seminole
PA-46 Mohave
and the whole range of Cheyennes.
And yet no Indian has ever complained!
Can't see a difference between a tribe name and a racial epithet, Glenn?
Figures.
Ducky,
Why are you so stupid?
Complaints are made about teams having the names of Indians, and how offensive it is, and they demand changes.
Where were the complaints of offense and demanding name changes when Piper or the Army named their aircraft after Indians?
Craig: "Except in a foul way." There is no foul way to use the names of tribes. Their names are honorable and are honored when we use them. The term "redskin" at one time was pejorative, in a loose sense, but it has long since stopped being used in that way.
Anyway, there is nobody with an iota of sense who thinks the name of a team is anything other than the name of a team.
Florida State University's use of the name "Seminoles" was attacked a few years ago, but the clamor died down as it should have. So should the panic over the use of "Redskins" for a team name.
GEC: It's no use! In spite of the overwhelming evidence you have presented, there is not one shred of evidence that will ever change a liberal's mind because their mind set is that something is true or not because they say it is true or not, quite apart from whether it is actually true or not.
Liberals are the most closed minded people who have ever walked the planet.
Evidently you can't understand the differene either, Joe.
Ducky: Wrong again.
When the DC team selected "Redskins" as their name, it was not to slur Indians (PC: Native Americans). It was to tell the world that they were tough. It was to tell the world that they were brave. It was to tell the world that they intended to excel in the sport of football.
Only a total idiot would think they chose their name to ridicule anyone. Only an idiot.
Joe,
Supposedly SOME Indians find "Redskin" offensive. They just decided to wait until the past few years to make a stink about it. Only the younger ones care.
While there was a period of history where "redskin" was used derogatorily like "nigger," for the most of history it only described the people by their skin color -- sort of like when we say "blacks" to identify negroes.
GEC: You are absolutely correct. It's like a live-in girl friend who sues her guy for "loans" when they break up.
Well, it's sort of like that. There were an awful lot of years that nobody complained.

Joe, look at that link and you'll see how many Native Americans have "Redskins" as their community high school's football teams. Some don't like it, some do.
The post is funny...droll...then we have Goodell saying "if one is offended, we should consider stopping the name". IF ONE?
Have we really come to that?
Z: Offending anybody other than Christians has become tantamount to a federal crime...in some cases, literally.
