Peoples' skin (White, Black, Red, Yellow, etc.) has gotten so thin that our very language is becoming unusable.

This is an old one, but very incomplete. The Army has long used Indian names for their aircraft. In fact, Black Hawk (H-60 series) is the first with a particular Indian's name rather than a tribal name. Here's the line-up they've had since the 1950s:
H-13 Sioux
H-19 Chickasaw
H-21 Shawnee
H-34 Choctaw
H-37 Mojave
H-41 Seneca
H-47 Chinook
H-48, H-1 Iroquois
H-54 Tarhe
H-55 Osage
H-56 Cheyenne

Complaints are made about teams having the names of Indians, and how offensive it is, and they demand changes.
Where were the complaints of offense and demanding name changes when Piper or the Army named their aircraft after Indians?
Craig: "Except in a foul way." There is no foul way to use the names of tribes. Their names are honorable and are honored when we use them. The term "redskin" at one time was pejorative, in a loose sense, but it has long since stopped being used in that way.
Anyway, there is nobody with an iota of sense who thinks the name of a team is anything other than the name of a team.
Florida State University's use of the name "Seminoles" was attacked a few years ago, but the clamor died down as it should have. So should the panic over the use of "Redskins" for a team name.

When the DC team selected "Redskins" as their name, it was not to slur Indians (PC: Native Americans). It was to tell the world that they were tough. It was to tell the world that they were brave. It was to tell the world that they intended to excel in the sport of football.
Only a total idiot would think they chose their name to ridicule anyone. Only an idiot.

Supposedly SOME Indians find "Redskin" offensive. They just decided to wait until the past few years to make a stink about it. Only the younger ones care.
While there was a period of history where "redskin" was used derogatorily like "nigger," for the most of history it only described the people by their skin color -- sort of like when we say "blacks" to identify negroes.

Well, it's sort of like that. There were an awful lot of years that nobody complained.

Joe, look at that link and you'll see how many Native Americans have "Redskins" as their community high school's football teams. Some don't like it, some do.
The post is funny...droll...then we have Goodell saying "if one is offended, we should consider stopping the name". IF ONE?
