What Will It Be?

We live in a representative, constitutional republic. We elect people to represent us in government. Those people work for us. They are there to serve U.S. citizens. They have, by and large, abdicated their responsibilities.

Sadly, our senators and representatives have gotten the idea that their role is to rule. That may be the job of government in any or all other countries, but it is not the job of the government of the United States of America. They think that if they are not making new laws they are not doing their jobs.

We don’t need more laws. We only need two: don’t hurt anybody without due cause and don’t mess with peoples’ property.

The idea that the government is in charge of fairness, equality of outcome or regulation of the minutia is ludicrous and foolhardy. It is absolutely contrary to what America is about.
But, with so many people wanting so much from the federal government, it is no wonder that all is not well with our country.

The question is, with elections ahead, what are you going to do about it?
If you are a liberal, my guess is that you will vote to keep the mess we have developed. You are so very short sighted.

You are too old to be that naive.

XO: No, not yet. Every law on the books falls into one of those two categories.
