The My Way or the Highway President
You people have elected a dangerous fool as president.
If this man is your idea of the head of the Executive Branch of our government, there is something seriously wrong with your thought processes.
Congress put forth two proposals to prevent us going "over the fiscal cliff." But they were rejected by President BO (the amateur president).
He wants compromise. We know he does. He said so, and we know he always tells the truth.
But his idea of compromise is: "Do it my way or it will not be done!"
Even though he has said he is willing to hear ideas, willing to work with Republicans, willing to avoid the "fiscal cliff," he has done nothing to slow the steady march toward it.
He refuses to accept any idea that does not include increasing taxes on the "rich." His benchmark used to be one percenters. Now it has gone up to the top two percent!
So what have we done? Have we redefined "compromise," and "work with" to mean "do it my way or take the highway and buzz off"?
List the things he has specifically indicated a willingness to "compromise" on.
Your list will be short...very short. In fact, it will be non-existent.
President BO (the amateur president) really believes that he is more than the head of the Executive Branch. He believes that he is the supreme arbiter of all things governmental.
He lives by executive order, breathes totalitarianism, lectures incessantly on things about which he knows nothing and makes all of the same arguments that every dictator that has ever made when taking over a country. He shows all the signs of one determined to become "President for Life."
That the majority of people in this country can't see that is indicative that they have never understood what America is about, have no idea what the "American Dream" is and are willing to forgo as many liberties as needed to just let the government take care of running their lives.
My prediction: President BO (the amateur president) will happily allow the U.S. to go over the "fiscal cliff" in order to blame Republicans and set the nation up for his "benevolent" dictatorship.
Congressional Republicans need to send a comprehensive fiscal bill to the Senate, which they will not pass and the President will not sign so that when the "blame" card is played (and it WILL be played), it will be Republicans who hold the trump card.
The man you have elected is poised to take you over, and you are poised to let him.

Joe, is the rejection of ideas by one side always evidence of amateurism in a politician?
Oh Joe - Forget the "Fiscal Cliff". You have rocketed off the silliness cliff at full speed.
"He refuses to accept any idea that does not include increasing taxes on the "rich."
It's not the President that insists on this. It is the majority of the American electorate who reelected President Obama who are insisting on this.
President Obama is working to do what the American People elected him to do.
"He lives by executive order, breathes totalitarianism, lectures incessantly on things about which he knows nothing and makes all of the same arguments that every dictator that has ever made when taking over a country. OK, you have clearly gone completely insane.
I will bet you what ever amount of money you feel comfortable betting and I will give you 1000 to 1 odds. That means if you bet just $1, you only stand to lose $1 but can win $1000.
Here is the bet.
When President Obama's 2nd term ends, there will be no "President for Life" legislation, there will be no Obama Coup, there will be no "benevolent dictatorship".
There will be a democratic election of the next President and there will be a peaceful, traditional, American transition of power to the next President.
Put up or shut up.
DM: No. I never said that. He has demonstrated his amateurism in hundreds of ways since taking office, many of which I have revealed on this blog.
XO: "OK, you have clearly gone completely insane."
You would do well to keep that in mind.
I don't bet, and I'm not going to shut up.
"It is the majority of the American electorate who reelected President Obama who are insisting on this."
In the first place, you have no objective data to back up such an inane statement. He was not re-elected to raise taxes on the rich.
He was re-elected because he is "cute," black and promises to give away lots of free stuff.
So far, he has refused to accept any idea that does not include increasing taxes on the rich IN SPITE OF SAYING HE WOULD LOVE TO WORK WITH REPUBLICANS.
If he was elected to raise taxes on the rich, why would he then say he would work with Republicans to avoid the fiscal cliff? Having said that, why would he refuse to compromise on anything in any way?
I have to say, you and he are almost exactly alike, wouldn't you agree?
Joe - "I have to say, you and he are almost exactly alike, wouldn't you agree?"
Yes. I am "cute," black and promises to give away lots of free stuff."
Have you lost your Vulcan mind?
"He was not re-elected to raise taxes on the rich."
Yes. He was. That was a key component in his platform and a majority of the American people reelected him so he could do that.
What is it about basic American politics that you don't understand?
Joe, he learned in his first term that THERE IS NO "WORKING WITH REPUBLICANS".
The R's can compromise easily, resolve this and move on. But somehow in the minds of right wingers like yourself, "working with Republicans, means accepting their demands wholesale.
So Joe, is it wrong to reject the ideas of the other side and expect them to come over to your side?
XO: You prove the point that liberals seek a class system in this country that discriminates against success.
Ducky: "Compromise" means each side gives up something to arrive at an agreement.
Please list the things Obama and the liberal left are willing to give up to reach a solution to our economic woes.
DM: "...is it wrong to reject the ideas of the other side and expect them to come over to your side?"
Well let's see. It's a poorly phrased question, because it contains no point of reference.
On the general issue, the answer is, "No," and "yes."
List the things Obama and the liberal left have been willing to give up in order to solve our economic woes.
To which side are you referring in your question?
Both or just one?
The liberals' favorite mantra is, "Raise taxes!" And of course the liberals hate rich people because they represent work ethic. Liberals prefer government control and handouts - rank socialism.
But it won't matter if every person paid 100% of their income in taxes, the government would still be broke. Why? Because of their insane expenditures. The will never cut expenses - never, never, never. Because all the government entitlements and other payouts and pork is what keeps the politicians in office.
I would suggest that at least 75% of government expenditures are not authorized by the Constitution.
Joe, my question is not poorly phrased at all. It was designed to get an answer.
You posited in your post that Obama has adopted a "My way or the highway" attitude and that this attitude is inconsistent with compromise and a willingness to work with the other side.
My question was designed to see if you are consistent in your views. In other words, was Sen McConnell guilty of the same attitude after the 2010 elections, which the GOP won big, when said we are are ready to work with Obama as soon as he comes over to our side, the American people have spoken.
Is there any real difference in those two stances, and if not, why are you only critical of one side? If so, please explain...
Thanks...
And of course the liberals hate rich people because they represent work ethic.

The average so called "illegal immigrant" does more work in a week than any of Romney's punk kids have done in their lives.
Ducky,
B.S.
Ducky: "The average so called "illegal immigrant" does more work in a week than any of Romney's punk kids have done in their lives."
The doesn't even rise to the level of a slur.
You have absolutely no basis for such a statement. You do not know his kids, you do not know whether they are "punks," and you do not know their work ethic.
That is the kind of personal attack, not on topic, that gets you banned from this blog.
Joe, Ducky is just voicing his opinion, that may or may not be based in fact.
This of course is you blog, but you have voiced your opinions on an equal amount of flimsy evidence, and many times people have found those opinions to be personal attacks on people.
DM: "...Ducky is just voicing his opinion..."
Thank you for that in depth analysis of Ducky's comment.
As my header says, this is where I give my opinion and you can give yours...however, ad hominem attacks are not allowed by commenters.
From my side bar: "All anonymous comments, unsigned, will be deleted, as will ad hominem attacks against me or others."
I consider attacks against Romney's children to be ad hominem, especially when they are baselessly refered to as "Punk."
Suppose I unceremoniously called Obama's kids "punks." Would that be me just expressing my opinion, or would it be something less acceptable than that?
I would ban me from my blog if I did that...especially without any kind of evidence.
Hard to envision Romney's boys, or any natural born American Citizen replacing a roof or harvesting crops in 100 degree heat and 80% humidity for the wages that American consumers are willing to pay.
I would pay real money to see Jo-Joe Politico and Glen E. Chatfield re-roofing a house in Arizona in August.
Let's see that work ethic boys! Earn that money!
XO: I physically built a house in Punta Gorda, Florida, including the roof, the dry-wall, sprinkler system, and everything else except the plumbing, rough carpentry and electrical work.
Ninety-eight degree weather.
It was a three bedroom, two bath home with a large garage.
It survived hurricane Charlie, one of three in its neighborhood.
I'm 70 years old now, and I think my roofing days, etc., are over.
Ducky,
Always assuming and thinking like a 100% liberal fanatic.
You have no idea of the hard labor I have done over the years, and in lots of very hot weather. I would have preferred AZ over NC, because out there the heat is dry.
I've also worked construction in Ohio during the winter and being outside in harsh weather is not fun. I'd take the heat any day.
