Some of the worst matte shots I've seen in a while.

What do we need to understand?

Joe - I agree with you 100%. We must keep the faith.

Ducky: "...the worst matte shots..."

Irrelevant comment.

"What do we need to understand?"

Sorry. I realize it was too deep for your narrow and shallow mind.

Ducky: Another.

sh: We must, indeed.

SG: Did you mean Ducky, or Ducky and sh, or Ducky, sh and me? The intelligence level of you comment didn't make it clear.

Hey, Joe. Here's what you need to understand. Based on violent crime stats, Vermont is the safest state in the country. They are also the least religious with just 22% of the population identifying as "very religious.

Tennessee was the most dangerous state in 2014. They are the sixth most religious state, 54% "very religious".

The safest country is Japan. They are #2 on the least religious charts. Only 25% think religion has any relevance outside of ceremony and tradition.

The data doesn't support the video's assertion. Try again.

BTW, Florida ranks 8th most dangerous state. Stay safe, Joe.

I mean YOU, to start.

SD: Well thought out comment! Is that the extent of your creativity?

Take it easy , don't expect too much intelligence from her Joe. After all she's a fugitive from the Ptogressive's blog.

Please use scientific data to back up you arguments, not just your own miss-guided opinions. . You are not going to learn to understand or even engage the honest mind here at this Republican web-site.
Going to the Liberal or the Progressive web-sites where it is entertaining and will also give you insight as to the mentality but, commenting on those sites may be as useless as the national Republican blogs.
I like to use the Liberal blogs and news sites to find ammunition of counter arguments and facts to use in the local blogs. Always be courteous and do not allow yourself to be baited.
They fit the description of your post to a Tee Party.
The right-wing Republicans are of the worst kind.
Beyond that, it was a good rant.

The Liberal blogs are more important as they are more grass roots, enable more flexible opinion and thinking.
Don’t be misguided by these holier than thou repubs who are so righteous... A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he's gonna want to see a cross? That's kinda like going up to Jackie Kennedy with a rifle pendant on.
And these are the same folks who are for abortions.
I will attempt not to respond further on this, as I realize it's off-topic. However if you are interested in hearing the truth, go to http://progressiveerupts.blogspot.com/

NIMN: I knew she was a fugitive of some kind.

IT: Not much truth in your comment. As for the "Tee Party," we're drinkers (of tea...get it?), not golfers.

Joe, are you going to respond to Craig or are you going to maintain the fiction that we would have no morality without the Ten Commandments (which were not even the first legal code).

Craig said...

Joe, I'm not arguing against religion. If that's what is keeping you off the streets and out of jail, who am I to disagree? There's just doesn't seem to be a correlation between religiosity and law and order in a population.

Any thoughts?

Craig: I'm responding to satisfy Ducky's sense of right and wrong. I wouldn't want him to languish in his lack of knowledge.

"There's just doesn't seem to be a correlation between religiosity and law and order..."

There is a sense in which that is true. But religiosity is not the point of the video. (I suspect that you knew that already, but feel compelled to make a particular point of your own.)

The point of the video is that the Judeo/Christian ethic ultimately leads to freedom from extreme government intervention. It says nothing about crime rates verses religiosity in Vermont or Tennessee.

The current trend in our nation (including Vermont and Tennessee) is for government to usurp more and more of our freedoms, the end result will be total control of our lives by the government.

We might, therefore, be safer, depending on the bent of the government at any one time. But we will not be more free.

Freedom does not mean "You are free to do whatever the government says you can do." Nor does it mean "Whatever is for the good of 'society as a whole' is good for the individual."

The United States of America was founded on the premise that freedom from the overreaching rule of government is best for both the individual and society as a whole.

Liberals don't believe that.

But religiosity is not the point of the video

Here's the kicker from Clay, "If you take away religion, you can't hire enough police."

That's the whole point. Democracy can only function when people voluntarily follow the rules. Clay and the unnamed Marxist economist believe it's because we are accountable to God. There is nothing in the video to support this observation.

In fact, as absolute belief in God has declined in the U.S. so has the crime rate. The rate of violent crime overall has been cut in half since 1993. What would you attribute it to? The govt. usurping more freedom? If so, what freedoms?
