Our Current President is Lower than Pond Scum
Two star Major General Harold Greene was killed in Afghanistan on August 8, 2014 while serving his country with pride for 34 years. He was the highest ranking officer in the military killed in action since the Vietnam war.
President Obama has not mentioned anything in regards to this highly decorated soldier yet he spoke highly of Robin Williams who committed suicide.
General Greene was buried August 14 in Arlington National Cemetery. Neither the President, Vice President, Secretary of State nor Secretary of Defense attended the funeral.
President Obama was on vacation, playing golf at Martha's Vineyard. No flags were ordered to half mast for General Greene's death, yet they were for Whitney Houston who, like Robin Williams, committed suicide.
This is very offensive and disrespectful to the veterans who have served our great country. But it should not be surprising.

Classic? What's That?
"Then Jason lighted the pile, and burnt the carcass of the bull; and they went to their ship and sailed eastward, like men who have a work to do; and the place from which they went was called Aphetai, the sailing-place, from that day forth. Three thousand years ago an more they sailed away, into the unknown Eastern seas; and great nations have come and gone since then and many a storm has swept the earth; and many a mighty armament, to which Argo would be but one small boat, have sailed those waters since; yet the fame of that small Argo lives forever, and her name is become a proverb among men."
Do you know a single college graduate who could read and understand that paragraph. Probably not, or at least not very likely. Yet it was an assignment for eighth graders (some say sixth graders) in 1914. (For those of you educated in government schools, that was 100 years ago.)
Now I am not at all concerned whether this particular story should be taught today (although I certainly think it has philosophical merit and might be considered). My concern is that most Americans today could not read the words coherently and certainly could not make heads or tails out of what it was talking about.
In government schools today, if it WERE taught, the aim would not be to discern the meaning of the passage. The aim would be to have the student tell how he/she FEELS about the paragraph. To today's progressive "educators" nothing trumps feeling. Literature is not about meaning, it is about feeling. History is not about what happened, it is about how one feels about what happened (or didn't, for that matter). Arithmetic and Mathematics is not about solving problems, it is about using "friendly" processes, whether or not the actual solution is found. Even science is not about observation, experimentation and repeatability, it is about bending the science to fit one's own agenda, more specifically the current political agenda.
To progressives, education in Miami has become part and parcel of education in Seattle. What is taught in San Bernadino must be identical to what is taught in Bangor. Educators must walk in lock-step, all teaching the same things exactly alike to the same end(s). That is the folly of nationwide standardized testing. That is the goal of Common Core. It is so stated in its instructions.
So we go merrily on our way, believing that we are progressing when we are really digressing. We think we are "catching up" to the rest of the world, when we are actually falling further behind. We no longer allow teachers (and certainly not students) to learn the basics of math, history, reading and science and apply them to their own imaginations to come up with ideas and methods to benefit humanity.
So what are we to do?
The answer is: there is nothing we can do. We (the state and progressive educators) have bought a bill of goods lock, stock and barrel. We shall continue to raise a nation of progressively sorry students until we are to dumb as a nation for self-sustainment.

Get Your Head A Little Deeper In the Sand
In this 2011 video you will hear White House Counter terrorism Adviser John Brennan: "Ensuring al-Qa'ida's Demise." His premise is that the Obama administration's policies have been so good that terrorists won't even think of establishing a Caliphate. Such a thing, in his words, would be "...absurd..."

"Americans should stop being “cowards” and attacking the Islamic State terror group with drones, the terror group’s spokesperson told Vice News, adding that the militants aim to reach the U.S.

As I Say Do, Not As I Do Do
You stupid Americans can't possibly remember what I said, so I'll just tell you something that makes sense (if only to me) and you won't notice that I contradicted one of my specific, crucial campaign promises. We'll just keep on blaming Bush.
Well, here is what he said previously as President of the United States:

Is It Ever Enough?
Robin Williams dead at age 63 |
When I think of Robin Williams, my first thought is always Mork and Mindy (Give me a break. I'm old.)
What touches the depth of my heart about this sad turn of events is that Robin Williams had more than he had ever dared dream he would have. He had fame. He had fortune. He had the admiration of millions. He had followers. And he had those who said they were his friends.
Robin Williams was often funny, frequently silly, emotionally expressive, quick witted and spontaneous.
Is there something missing from that list of things Robin Williams had. Was there somehow more that he needed? Apparently so.
I wonder what it was, don't you?
(Here's the first I read about it.)

Who is Laughing Now?
ISIS Executes a member of the Iraqi Forces |
Well, guess who's laughing now. ISIS (which is trying to change its name to IS) is poised to advance through the Middle East and is growing exponentially with new recruits. ISIS (IS) has a plan in mind and is building the organization to make it happen.
The Obama administration has been reluctant to even admit such an organization existed and when it became irrefutable, he announced that the United States' involvement would be minuscule. Instead of doing what it takes to rid the world of this threat, he has chosen to appear uncommitted and pussyfooted in his response.
ISIS (IS) is larger and more powerful than Al Quieda was before 9/11. They are steadfast in their goal. Here is their goal as expressed by one of their leaders:
"Americans should stop being “cowards” and attacking the Islamic State terror group with drones, the terror group’s spokesperson told Vice News, adding that the militants aim to reach the U.S.

Is this just paper tiger hot air? Maybe. Let's hope so. How far should we let ISIS (IS) go? What should we do to stop them, if anything?

Nothing to Hide?
How many times have we heard liberals defend spying and over enforcement with some statement like, "If you have nothing to hide, why not capitulate?"
What could there possibly be to hide? Illegal aliens?
The old "abandoned" prison has 76 officers working there. What do you suppose they are guarding?
In this instance, what happened to freedom of the press?

A Challenge to XO, Ducky, DM, Craig and SK (et al.)
Thanks to GEC and to this post
If you are so sure that ” Palestine , the country, goes back through most of recorded history,” I expect you to be able to answer a few basic questions about that country of Palestine :
- When was it founded and by whom?
- What were its borders?
- What was its capital?
- What were its major cities?
- What constituted the basis of its economy?
- What was its form of government?
- Can you name at least one Palestinian leader before Arafat?*
- Was Palestine ever recognized by a country whose existence, at that time or now, leaves no room for interpretation?
- What was the language of the country of Palestine ?
- What was the prevalent religion of the country of Palestine ?
- What was the name of its currency? Choose any date in history and tell what was the approximate exchange rate of the Palestinian monetary unit against the US dollar, German mark, GB pound, Japanese yen, or Chinese yuan on that date.
- And, finally, since there is no such country today, what caused its demise and when did it occur?
Palestine has been referred to by MSM and by its supporters as a “once proud” nation. Please tell me, when exactly was that “nation” proud and what was it so proud of?
If the people you mistakenly call “Palestinians” are anything but generic Arabs collected from all over — or thrown out of — the Arab world, if they really have a genuine ethnic identity that gives them right for self-determination, why did they never try to become independent until Arabs suffered their devastating defeat in the Six Day War?
Come on, liberal people. What are the answers to those questions?
*Yasser Arafat was never the President, King, Dictator or Emperor of any country or region. He was President of a group that called themselves the Palestinian National Authority. He was also Chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO). There was no country named "Palestine."

Israel vs Palestine-
The Palestinians have chosen Hamas to lead their government.
They did so in 2007. These are not nice
people. They aim to conquer the world. That is their reason for being. It is so
stated in their charter that their mission is to kill Jews.
Article Seven: The University of Hamas
“…even if the links have
become distant from each other, and even if the obstacles erected by those who
revolve in the Zionist orbit, aiming at obstructing the road before the Jihad
fighters, have rendered the pursuance of Jihad impossible; nevertheless, the
Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah’s promise whatever time it
might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them);
until the Jews hide behind rocks and
trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and
kill him! This will not apply to the Gharqad, which is a Jewish tree (cited
by Bukhari and Muslim).”
It clearly calls for both the destruction of Israel and the
murder of Jews wherever they are found. “The day will come when the trees will
call out ‘here’s a Jew, come kill him.’” They don’t care whether they kill Israeli
civilians. They also don’t care that their own civilians die. They see that as
a coup. They see the dying of their own civilians as a win, because they are
then considered martyrs. Martyrdom is the highest calling of members of Hamas
in particular and Palestinians in general.
As Charles K. noted, “Israel is using a missile defense
system to protect its citizens, while Hamas is using its citizens to protect
its missiles.” Bill Maher (not a professing conservative) said, “If Hamas had the
opportunity, they would kill the maximum number of Israelis. Israel has the
opportunity to kill way more (than they are killing) and they do not. It seems
like they are the victim of the soft bigotry of high expectation.”
If Hamas had the chance, they would, by their own
declaration, wipe Israel from the face of the earth.
Remember, in 2005 Israel withdrew from Gaza, they are not
occupying Gaza. Israel does not want to occupy Gaza, they want to take out
tunnels and missile launchers. They want to live their lives in the open,
rather than in bunkers and bomb shelters. While Israel’s leaders believe in
life, Palestinian leaders believe that death is to be glorified. Death to
Palestinians is “sad” in that mothers, siblings and some fathers mourn loudly, they soon speak of their departed as
martyrs for the Palestinian cause…that is, defeating Israel for Allah.
Israel used their money to build bunkers and Iron Man
Missile Defense Systems. The Palestinians used their money to build rocket
launchers for the expressed purpose of attacking Israel, not to protect their people.
Some have berated Israel for firing rockets at U.N. schools, homes of Palestinians, and public places in Palestine. Their reasoning seems to be that if the Palestinians are firing their rocket at Israel from those locations, they should be allowed to continue doing so. Those places should be safe havens for Palestinian rocket launchers. Does that seem either right or reasonable to you? Is that the way one ensures the safety of one's people? Only take out the launchers in "un-sanctified" areas? Let the rest go ahead and launch away?
If Palestinians are seeking safety for their people, why would they station rocket launchers in schools. Are they no smart enough to know that is dangerous to civilians? Or maybe they secretly like it that way for propaganda purposes.
Israel received and assimilated 800,000 refugees. The rest
of the Middle East has a similar number of refugees (in Syria, Lebanon and
elsewhere) that they use as propaganda tools, hostages and shields. Israel has
a million and a half Arabs living among them, and they treat them as Israeli
citizens.
With all of that said, which group is more likely to be
taking the higher moral ground, Israel or Palestine?
The only possible correct answer is: Israel.
