WHEN IS ENOUGH ENOUGH?

Maybe I should just
develop some character.
The United States Department of Justice is the highest level of justice in America. Respect for this department is justified because of its reverence for the rule of law. It does not create law, but it enforces the law. That enforcement is supposed to be impartial, fair and in keeping with the spirit that is America.

The integrity of the Department of Justice is supposed to be unimpeachable. It is to be impartial and apolitical in all matters of truth and justice, hence its name: the Department of Justice.

The head of the Department of Justice is also the chief law enforcement officer in the country. Presently, Eric Holder is that head.

It is now becoming clear that the Attorney General has played a personal role in an unprecedented intrusion on the freedom of the press.

You would think that after Fast and Furious, after looking away from the IRS mess and after doing nothing in response to calls for explanations, someone would have gone to Eric Holder and said, “Look. This is getting out of hand, and you’re not looking very good. You should take definitive steps to enhance your image with the American public. Do something legal.”

But no one has done so. The president sure hasn't. Instead he expresses complete confidence in this sorry excuse for a Top Cop.

It all started when the Department of “Justice” targeted a Fox News reporter for simply reporting the news.Regardless of whether you like Fox News or not, they have a Constitutional right to report the news as they see it. Just like Tea Partiers and others on the political right have a right NOT to be singled out for persecution by the IRS.

Eric Holder approved spying on the Fox News reporter, saying his reporting was like criminal activity. This for reporting what an Obama staffer told him! What kind of a deal is that?

The First Amendment recognizes the importance of the freedom of the press. That means that the government has no say in what gets reported, how it gets reported, why or when it gets reported. “Congress shall make NO law…” regarding the freedom of religion, speech or the press. And it’s all in one sentence!

Speaking of sentences, a long sentence is what Holder should get for his deliberate, knowing, and despotic intrusion into the freedom of the press.

Just to make matters worse, Holder testified before Congress that he had had no involvement with such things and did not think it would be “…wise polity.” That turned out to be a lie. In fact, Holder knew about and gave both tacit and active approval to that activity, not only with regard to Fox News, but with the Associated Press, too!

Did you get that? He blatantly and demonstrably lie to Congress. That has become pretty common lately, and seemingly no one cares.

So Holder decides to meet with the press to iron things out, but sees no problem with making a meeting about transparency untransparent. He wanted the meeting to be “off the record.” The press (what a surprise) didn't think that a good idea and turned him down.

Why should they meet with him to talk about why it would be a good idea not to do what he already did? He did what he did and now says he shouldn't be allowed to do it!!?? And this after he originally denied doing it!!!

Isn't he in effect saying to the press, “Hey, you people need to help me figure out a way to protect you from people like me?” Couldn't he have stopped himself and relied on the law?

He presided over an unprecedented seizure of press records. Then he denied doing it and then said, “Help keep me from doing it again!"

Is this any way to run the Department of Justice?

All these scandals now make sense.

I was flummoxed when the EPA threw together a 30-man SWAT team to raid three factories owned by the Gibson Guitar Company. The EPA insisted that the company was using forbidden woods in the manufacturing, even though other companies used the same types of wood and Gibson had all their paperwork and permits in line. Ah, but Gibson's CEO is a big contributor to Republicans. NOW I understand.

Hundreds of conservative, pro-Israel, pro-life and Christian organizations were targeted by the IRS for audits and their tax-free applications were denied. NOW I understand why!

Congress' Fast and Furious scandal was stopped in its tracks.

The Benghazi investigation is being blocked.

The justice department will not close the borders, will not enforce certain drug laws, will not even convict Black Panther thugs who stand outside of polling places with clubs.

Holder has already been held in contempt of Congress once, and now he's perjuring himself AGAIN. Can you imagine an attorney general under the Bush administration lasting a single day after being held in contempt of Congress??

And nobody knows anything about anything. NOW I understand!

The corrupt Chicago thug who stole both his election and reelection has the entire federal government doing his dirty work for him.

And liberals are OK with that.

LR: Liberals will claim nothing has been done of any importance.

The top law enforcer breaking the law over and over is OK with them.

This targeting of conservatives by the IRS is a crime and this administration can probably be traced back to Obamás unprecedented attack on the U.S. Supreme Court during his State of the Union speech and his outright lies and misrepresentations of that case to the American public. That was followed by his appointment of his choice of IRS commissioners, taken from the tax exempt organizations section of the IRS, a clear signal that he wanted to target these groups. Obama is not "in the dark" on this. He was "leading from behind." The plan that Obama and his left wing henchmen have for America shouldn’t have any doubts about how crooked Obama is along with his whole administration by now. Ths administration is a cesspool and Obama is the Crook in Chief this is all his responsibility as it was the responsibility of the presidents before his as the Liberals remind us on a daily basis.
As for Eric Holder, lying to Congress (Perjury) is a felony, lets be crystal clear about that. We’ve seen people like Martha Steward go to jail for exactly that reason. At this point, the question is, what are we going to do about it? Eric Holder needs to be thrown out and put in handcuffs. And the Pharaoh-in-Chief should be thrown out next! Obstruction of Justice, Aiding and Abetting in a crime, Conspiracy is a crime.
My guess is that this will also get swept under the rug.

Joe - "The integrity of the Department of Justice is supposed to be unimpeachable. It is to be impartial and apolitical in all matters of truth and justice, hence its name: the Department of Justice."

I agree. So let's remove the AG from a Cabinet position serving at the pleasure of the President.

Let's make The Department of Justice the prosecutorial arm of the Supreme Court. That's where it belongs.

The Attorney General would become the Prosecuting Attorney of the Supreme Court.

The AG Charter would be to seek out and challenge any local laws that violate the Constitution.

Any charges brought by the AG would automatically be adjudicated by the SCOTUS and become the law of the land.

Then Joe's statement would be true and enforceable.

XO: The original duties of this officer were "to prosecute and conduct all suits in the Supreme Court in which the United States shall be concerned, and to give his advice and opinion upon questions of law when required by the president of the United States, or when requested by the heads of any of the departments."

Judiciary Act of 1789, section 35.

The Act created the Office of Attorney General, whose primary responsibility was to represent the United States before the Supreme court. The Act also created a United States Attorney and a United States Marshal for each judicial district.

A clause granting the Supreme Court the power to issue writs of mandamus outside its appellate jurisdiction was declared unconstitutional by Marbury v. Madison 5 U.S. 137 (1803). Thus, the Judiciary Act of 1789 was the first act of Congress to be partially invalidated by the Supreme Court.

What a mess we've made since!

The problem with removing any of these corrupt officials from the Obama administration is that he will just replace them with someone worse, hence the appointment of Susan Rice as National Security Adviser.

LR: I call him President BO (the amateur president). That is somewhat tongue in cheek, because as a politician, schemer and law side-stepper, he is unsurpassed.
