As you know, I do not allow foul language on this blog.
The rule, found in the side bar to the right, is simple: 1. Absolutely no foul language (including the use of asterisks). If you are not man or woman enough to control your language, you are not welcome here...go somewhere else.
But take heart!
I have not gone as far as the City of New York Department of Education.
In the interest of "sensitivity" to the feelings of others, they have published a list of words and phrases that cannot be used in city issued tests.
They might not be the words you are thinking about.
Here they are:
•Abuse (physical, sexual, emotional, or psychological)
•Alcohol (beer and liquor), tobacco, or drugs
•Birthday celebrations (and birthdays)
•Bodily functions
•Cancer (and other diseases)
•Catastrophes/disasters (tsunamis and hurricanes)
•Celebrities
•Children dealing with serious issues
•Cigarettes (and other smoking paraphernalia)
•Computers in the home (acceptable in a school or library setting)
•Crime
•Death and disease
•Divorce
•Evolution
•Expensive gifts, vacations, and prizes
•Gambling involving money
•Halloween
•Homelessness
•Homes with swimming pools
•Hunting
•Junk food
•In-depth discussions of sports that require prior knowledge
•Loss of employment
•Nuclear weapons
•Occult topics (i.e. fortune-telling)
•Parapsychology
•Politics
•Pornography
•Poverty
•Rap Music
•Religion
•Religious holidays and festivals (including but not limited to Christmas, Yom Kippur, and Ramadan)
•Rock-and-Roll music
•Running away
•Sex
•Slavery
•Terrorism
•Television and video games (excessive use)
•Traumatic material (including material that may be particularly upsetting such as animal shelters)
•Vermin (rats and roaches)
•Violence
•War and bloodshed
•Weapons (guns, knives, etc.)
•Witchcraft, sorcery, etc.
Certain words stand out in my mind as I read this mindless list.
"Pornography" and "sex."
Turns out that a part of the middle school curriculum in NYC is the study of sex and pornography (I'm not certain why those are a part of the curriculum, but they are).
So how does NYC give a test on a subject without using the very words that the subject is about?
‘Halloween’ is targeted because it suggests paganism (I'm a dyed in the wool, hard-nosed, Christian, and I still say, "so what?").
A ‘birthday’ might not be happy to all because it isn’t celebrated by Jehovah’s Witnesses.
See, as has been noted on this blog before, the problem is liberals lead with their emotions, and don't give a whit about facts, truth, honesty or integrity.
They think that we can develop a world in which nobody ever has to be uncomfortable about anything, ever, for any reason.
That's why they suggest things like not keeping score at a children's soccer game. There can be no such thing as winning, because that means there must be losing and losing is bad for one's self esteem.
Uncomfortable.
'Course, when kids grow up and discover that the "real" world doesn't give a rat's behind about their poor little self-esteem, they get a rude awakening and are not prepared to deal with the idea.
Can some of you liberals tell me: Is there any end to this abject nonsense? Ever?
Will you please list for me the areas of life over which you think government should not have any control?

A LENGTHY ESSAY CONCERNING CRIME RATES AMONG BLACKS IN THE U.S.
The Following are Crime Statistics Provided by the FBI and the Department of Justice.
Blacks are about 12% of the population of the U.S.
Blacks commit about 52% of muggings and over 60% of the murders in the USA.
Is this because they are disproportionately poor, disadvantaged and/or disabled?
Well, the District of Columbia enjoys the highest average annual salary and is second in personal income per capita, leads the nation in almost every category of crime, including murder, robbery, aggravated assault and vehicle theft.
They also have the country’s strictest gun control laws.
D.C. also has the highest police department costs per capita and the highest rates of incarceration.
The permanent population of Washington DC is over 80% black
Compare DC to West Virginia.
West Virginia has the nation’s highest unemployment rate in the U.S.and the fewest police per capita of any state in the nation. It suffers the chronic poverty as well.
Yet West Virginia has the nation’s lowest crime rate.
It population is over 96 % white.
Nation wide, blacks actually commit more violent crimes against whites than blacks. A black is over 30 times more likely to do violence to a white than whites are to blacks.
Every year there are about 35,000 black on white rapes reported in the USA, while there are fewer than 9 white on black rapes. And when it comes to “gang rapes,” there are more than 3,000 black on white while white on black gang rapes are so rare they don’t even show up in government statistics.
When it comes to so-called “white collar” crimes, blacks are nearly 3 times as likely to be arrested for forgery, counterfeiting, and embezzlement as whites.
What is the point of all of these facts?
Do they mean that blacks are worse people because they are black?
No.
It means that blacks commit crimes out of proportion to their numbers.
That’s all they mean.
They are not pre-judging blacks, passing judgements on blacks nor do they form a valid basis for prejudice against blacks.
They just are what they are.
Listen up, liberal media and liberals in general: IT IS NOT RACIST TO BRING THESE IDEAS TO THE FORE!
If publicizing these facts feeds your stereotypes or encourages racist ideas in you head, the problem is with your head, not with the facts.
They just are what they are.
Do they show that police center their enforcement efforts on black crimes and ignore crimes by whites?
No.
A crime is a crime, and the color of its perpetrator is of no consequence to the crime itself.
Now, facts are facts, and there is nothing anybody can honestly do about them.
The conclusions to be drawn from those facts, however, depends on a number of factors, such as indoctrination, personal past history, where one went to school, the method of reasoning employed and the amount of emotionalism substituted for reason in drawing those conclusions.
For the last 100 years or so, we have developed in this country a culture that encouraged crime among those previously suppressed, ie: blacks.
Whether out of guilt for former treatment (as in slavery) or out of well meaning but misguided intent to “help,” we have taught the black population that they are entitled to certain things because of what had been done to their ancestors.
The result of that teaching has been to indoctrinate them with the idea that they are somehow rendered inferior by their history and must overcome that “inferiority” through entitlements and disproportionate accommodation.
Some blacks have come to believe: “You have something I want (material possession, sexuality, dignity, an identity, etc.). Since I want it, I should have it. Since I don’t know how to earn it, I will justly take it from you so we can be even.”
This attitude has been promulgated by the socio-psychological theories of liberal educators, who influenced their students, who subsequently influenced politicians who then passed it on down the electorate.
When politicians realized that they could remain in office, with the accompanying power, influence, perks and benefits, by providing government assistance to the black community absent any reciprocal responsibility, they began doling out the hand-outs.
The result is over two generations of blacks who earnestly believe what they have been taught to believe: that the rest of the citizens owe them a living; that if they want something they should have it and should not have to work for it.
Thankfully, there are many blacks who have risen above what they have been taught and have become successful, meaningful, contributors to society.
Sadly, there are still too many who buy into the entitlement mentality.
This will not change until the liberal “thinkers” realize what they have done and change their approach to dealing with the “plight” of the black community.
There is little hope of that ever happening, however, because the liberal mind set is to think that taking from those who have to distribute to those who don't have will teach those who don’t have to grow up and earn the things they want or need.
Until it happens, though, the disproportionate crime rate among blacks will continue.
It’s what they have been taught.

KEEPING YOUR PHILOSOPHY STRAIGHT
In May of 2010, President BO (the child president):
Today, President Obama visited Solyndra, Inc., in Fremont California – a solar panel manufacturer that is building a new facility (and creating new jobs) thanks to funding from the Recovery Act. So far, construction of the new facility has created over 3,000 construction-related jobs and the new factory could create up to 1,000 long-term new jobs. And this is just one of countless stories that together account for the up-to-2.8 million jobs the Recovery Act is responsible for by the CBO’s count.
He said:
“Government still has the responsibility to help create the conditions in which students can gain an education so they can work at Solyndra, and entrepreneurs can get financing so they can start a company, and new industries can take hold.
“So that’s why, even as we cut taxes and provided emergency relief over the past year — we also invested in basic research, in broadband networks, in rebuilding roads and bridges, in health information technology, and in clean energy. Because not only would this spur hiring by businesses — it would create jobs in sectors with incredible potential to propel our economy for years, for decades to come. There is no better example than energy.”
From the VP:
“This announcement today is part of the unprecedented investment this Administration is making in renewable energy and exactly what the Recovery Act is all about,” said Vice President Biden. “By investing in the infrastructure and technology of the future, we are not only creating jobs today, but laying the foundation for long-term growth in the 21st-century economy.”
And in his 2010 State of the Union Address, President BO (the child president) said:
“Last year, we made the largest investment in basic research funding in history -– (applause) — an investment that could lead to the world’s cheapest solar cells or treatment that kills cancer cells but leaves healthy ones untouched. And no area is more ripe for such innovation than energy. You can see the results of last year’s investments in clean energy -– in the North Carolina company that will create 1,200 jobs nationwide helping to make advanced batteries; or in the California business that will put a thousand people to work making solar panels.”
Yet President BO (the child president), in an interview with Market Place last week, had this exchange:
Interviewer: With all respect, it was kind of a gutsy move I think to come to a solar facility. Your administration has staked a lot on clean technology, green jobs. The biggest item most people know about that strategy is, of course, a company named Solyndra, which your administration gave loan guarantees to, that then went bankrupt and has been the subject of many investigations. Are you doing your “all of the above” strategy right if that’s what we have to show for it — Solyndra?
Obama: We are doing the “all of the above” strategy right. Obviously, we wish Solyndra hadn’t gone bankrupt. Part of the reason they did was because the Chinese were subsidizing their solar industry and flooding the market in ways that Solyndra couldn’t compete. But understand: This was not our program, per se.
Say what? This was not our program?
Why, because it failed?
Then whose program was it?
How can you people fall for this junk?
Just one more question: Were there any other "green" energy companies that received "stimulus" money and then failed?

THE GOVERNMENT IS GOING WILD!
H/T Lisa
Union Contributions and to whom they were given.
Breakdown of Union Membership (BLS).
Average State and Local Government Salaries (BLS).
Average Federal Employee Benefits Package (About dot Com US Government Info)
TRANSCRIPT (MOSTLY):
“This video highlights not only the massive influence unions have in politics, but how the taxpayers are funding that influence,” said Blaise Ingoglia, founder of Government Gone Wild. “Unions used to play an important role in protecting American workers—but today, more than half of all union members in this country are government employees, not manufacturing workers.”
Government Gone Wild analyzed data from the non-partisan Center for Responsive Politics (CRP) and Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), among others. “State of the Unions” reports the following:
• Over the last 22 years unions have given more money to candidates and political parties than Wall Street investment banks, the oil and gas industry, the defense industry, pharmaceutical manufacturers, airlines, auto manufacturers, and the savings and loan industry combined.
• 92% of these contributions have gone to the Democrat Party.
• Average state and local government salaries in the US are now 29% higher and the average federal government salary is 50% higher than the private sector.
• Four out of five government employees have lifetime pensions and can retire as early as 55 on the taxpayers’ dime. Private sector employees must rely on a failing Social Security system and can’t retire until age 65.
• The benefits package alone for a federal employee averages more than $42,000 a year, almost four times as much as the average private sector worker. Federal employees can choose from numerous health care plans; get up to 49 paid days off a year, enjoy child care subsidies, and receive up to $60,000 of student loan forgiveness.
• In 2008, American taxpayers paid in excess of $170 million to pay federal employees not to work, but to pursue union activities.
“American taxpayers are subsidizing a colossal special interest group: public sector unions,” said Ingoglia. “It’s time to give conservative union members the option to stop funding their ideological opposition and stop lining the campaign coffers of politicians who are bankrupting this nation.”
“We are asking voters to contact their Congressman and Senators and ask them to propose legislation requiring all union contracts to disclose important information regarding their union dues,” continued Ingoglia. “Union contracts should disclose that members are entitled to a refund on the portion of their union dues that are used directly for political purposes. Union contracts should also disclose the percentage and dollar amount of their campaign contributions to each political party to ensure greater transparency.” To take action, visit http://governmentgonewild.org/biglabor.

ONE CROWD CHANTED: "ZIMMERMAN CONVICTION" ANOTHER:
"NO JUSTICE, NO PEACE"
This is not the first time this has happened.
Zimmerman has already been convicted by the public.
Is that the way YOU would want it if it were YOU they were after?
What do you think "justice" means to that crowd?

I'VE BEEN THINKIN'
During my time away, I've had some time to think.
I think I have been wrong.
Until my "time off," I thought it was worthwhile to engage certain people in conversation and debate about how to solve such problems as government intervention into our lives, the high price of gasoline, truth versus factoids and quasi factoids.
Now I realize the futility of such efforts.
Believing they possess a superior intellect, they look down their noses at people who disagree with them as having an inferior one.
They do not recognize principles, but prefer to deal with minutia, as though that somehow overrides the principles. And they do not apply their attack of the minutia with any sort of even handedness.
An example of that would be their concept of "freedom of speech.'
It is OK for Bill Maher to call certain women some of the most vile, uncivilized, filthy names on the planet, but for Rush Limbaugh to ask what one calls someone who wants her contraception paid for (thus enabling her and others to "safely" engage in sex more often) and then answers the question with the suggestion that one would call such a person a "slut" is just the lowest of the low.
When asked, Bill Maher then said, "There's a difference!"
That's all the explanation he gave, but "There's a difference!" is supposed to suffice because it came from his superior intellect.
Freedom of speech only applies to liberals, not to conservatives.
Mostly, freedom of speech means liberals can use vile language every third word in their sentences and no one should care. They see vile language as evidence of their great intellect.
They never understand the Constitutional principle: People are free to verbally attack the government without fear of repercussion from the government.
Until my "time off," I thought that our mutual desire was the pursuit of some kind of common ground, at least, and truth at best.
Turns out that liberals are not the least bit interested in truth...they don't even believe it exists.
If you present them with evidence that the earth has always gone through periods of heating and cooling, even before the industrial revolution, and that those periods are more related to solar events than to man made ones, they ignore the facts and plough on ahead with their castigation of mankind.
Show them that the price of crude oil is set by OPEC, for the most part, and the price of gasoline is set by what speculators believe will be the future supply thereof, relative to demand, their superior intellect leads them to attack the "law of supply and demand."
Present statistics showing that capitalism has produced help for more people in need than all of the government programs ever designed, and they'll have a hissy fit trying to say that their taxes are used to help poor people, therefore they are as giving as capitalists are.
They completely miss the principle that an able bodied person should actually have to work to earn a living, go to college, drive a car, own a home, engage in sex, take care of himself and seek his own dreams freely.
One other thing I thought about while I was "off:"
