Joe - Personally, for a home defense handgun, a .38/.357 revolver loaded with an empty chamber under the hammer. Never have to worry about jams or racking a round. S&W, Colt, & Taurus all make excellent weapons. But nothing says "leave now" when hearing a 12-gauge pump shotgun chambering a round...
Chicago is ignoring this week's Supreme Court ruling affirming that having a gun is an individual right. They just rewrote their law to make it stricter and dodge the ruling. Meanwhile, there have been over 200 gun murders in Chicago -- and the year is only half over.
Gun control is all about s steady aim.
