    Joe - Tim Hawkins came up with this one a couple of years ago and made a few changes. But he is right - the government can. And they do.

    Ah, song parodies. Weird Al exhausted that comedy genre, what, 20 years ago? I watched 20 seconds of the video. Tim, The Patriot, scoffs at "free college". A secular (he banned the teaching of theology), publicly funded college education was Thomas Jefferson's vision when he established the University of Virginia. "We wish to establish in the upper country of Virginia, and more centrally for the State, a University on a plan so broad and liberal and modern, as to be worth patronizing with the public support, and be a temptation to the youth of other States to come and drink of the cup of knowledge and fraternize with us."-Jefferson, in a letter to Joseph Priestly. He was so proud of it he instructed the following to be engraved on the (pagan) obelisk over his grave, Here was buried Thomas Jefferson Author of the Declaration of American Independence of the Statute of Virginia for religious freedom Father of the University of Virginia It was also the vision of Abe Lincoln when
