While campaigning in his home state, Mitt Romney had the unmitigated gall to point out that no one had ever asked him for his birth certificate.

The MSM went absolutely nuts!

They are doing their best to make this a capital offense, politically.

Even Obama has quipped about "birthers."

For him to do it was funny (although I missed the humor...it didn't make me laugh, just roll my eyes).

Well, guess what? Nobody HAS asked Romney for his birth certificate, but if they did, he would show it immediately, would not photo-shop it and would not be reluctant to be proud of it.

The $50 Lesson

Recently, while I was working in the flower beds in the front yard, my neighbors stopped to chat as they returned home from walking their dog.

During our friendly conversation, I asked their little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President some day.

Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, "If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?"

She replied... "I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people."

Her parents beamed with pride!

"Wow...what a worthy goal!" I said. "But you don't have to wait until you're President to do that!" I told her.

"What do you mean?" she replied.

So I told her, "You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and trim my hedge, and I'll pay you $50.

Then you can go over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out and give him the $50 to use toward food and a new house."

She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, "Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him the $50?"

I said, "Welcome to the Republican Party."

Her parents aren't speaking to me anymore.

RACE TO THE FINISH

My grits are really fried (an old southern expression meaning dismayed or angry) over what's happening in "race relations" these days.

The only argument my mother and I ever got in concerned what we then called, "colored people."

She was from Georgia, and to her, "colored people" were fine to speak with, but they were not to be socialized with. They were, in her words, "different."

I (a teen-aged high-schooler) argued that they were people just like us, bled when stabbed, had human feelings and emotions and deserved our respect and their dignity. They also deserved equality of opportunity to do what they wanted to do and to become what they wanted to become.

It appalled me that there were such things as separate drinking fountains, separate restrooms and separate dining areas for "colored people." It was even more appalling to me that they could not come to school with me. I had made friends with "some of them," and was sad that we could not be friends in school.

The cry, "separate but equal" just did not compute in my feeble brain.

As I grew older and was off to college, I participated enthusiastically in the race relations movements of the 60s and 70s.

Today, I am the choir director of a church whose congregation is made up of 17 different nationality groups. My choir is half black. Such a thing would not have happened in the 50s, 60s and 70s, not in a Southern Baptist Church, anyway. I would not belong to a church that would not let that be the case.

I am, however, disheartened that so many African-Americans (Blacks) are ignoring the gains afforded them by the likes of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his followers.

What has evolved today, at the leadership level, is a group of haters and race baiters whose hatred of "whitey" far out does the so-called "hate" of the 40s and 50s and after.

People like Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev. Wright and, yes, even President Barack Obama continually spew the same kind of hatred toward whites as used to be spewed toward them.

I guess getting even makes everything alright.

Actually, it doesn't.

Apparently, blacks today tend to agree. In a recent Your Black World/Kulture Kritic survey, 85% of blacks said they were either unhappy or extremely unhappy with the state of Black leadership in America.

The Declaration of Independence recognizes that "all men are created equal. That they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

To be sure, when those words were penned, there were still slaves in the new country. Some have postulated that therefore blacks had been deliberately excluded from the sentence (as were women).

Of course, anyone who has read the writings of the framers knows that what was really being set there was the framework for centuries to come...centuries in which all men and women would be "...judged, not by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character." (Dr. MLK)

Some today claim that the Declaration of Independence is being "misused" to interpret that "all men created equal" jazz applies to rich white men only. They claim that "life liberty and the pursuit of happiness" is for those same rich white men, and them only, and could only have been realized after a civil war, marches in Selma and the like. They think those rights could only have been made real by  our government.

The Supreme Court's Dred Scott decision (upholding slavery) and the two fugitive slave acts (which compelled northern states to return escaped slaves from the south) were examples of how the government tried to afford blacks with the same "rights" as whites.

Oh! That's not what the government did? Well, Ahh Swan!

See, government does whatever government can get away with. That's why we, the people, were given the awesome responsibility to oversee the government (not for the government to oversee us).

Abraham Lincoln (remember the Emancipation Proclamation) sited the Declaration of Independence over and over again in his quest to free slaves. He understood what it was about.

Once the Declaration of Independence was adopted, slavery was doomed. It would take time, but its doom was sure.

Although many attempts to resolve the slave issue took place at the Constitutional Convention, it would not actually be resolved for years to come.

But the Declaration of Independence became the moral basis for individual liberty for all men and women, regardless of race, color or creed. That is what makes it one of the most compelling documents ever written by men.

In its writing, the Declaration of Independence set a course for future generations that could only improve things in America. That course was called "liberty," and it would apply to all people.

The sad thing is, too many people, and far too many black leaders today, don't know what the Declaration of Independence represents. They don't know what took place in order for it to be adopted. They don't appreciate the principles laid down in it.

As one liberal media outlet show host, Melissa Harris Perry said,  “I’m deeply irritated by their notion that the ‘pursuit of happiness’ means money for the richest and that we extricate the capacity of ordinary people to pursue happiness."

That is so perverted! What nation on the face of this planet has documented in its founding papers the liberty that is afforded in the U.S.? France? Afghanistan? Kenya? Egypt? Sudan?

Go ahead...pick one.

In many nations, people of different colors, religious beliefs, backgrounds, etc. are at war with one another with rifles, grenades, bombs, and the like.

There is a tolerance in this nation today that would have seemed a long ways away to our founders, not more than a glimmer of hope in their eyes. Sixty years ago few would have imagined it.

Go to a restaurant, a movie theater, a church, a mall, a sporting event today and look around. What an astonishing thing!

Black leadership today gives the impression that they want to re-live the days of the Civil War, segregation, civil rights struggles and the rest of it.

(Are you aware of the massive welfare state that is destroying this country with an entitlement mentality that believes that if you earn something, I should be entitled to part of it, just for being alive!)

As Mark Levin says, "The day we stop siting the Declaration of Independence is the day we're gone."

It is the greatest statement of enlightenment and compassion ever written by man.

Pass it on to your children and grandchildren.

And do your part to make its dream come true, not through government hand-outs, but by people of good will toward one another, wishing for all the opportunity to reach their dreams, whatever those dreams might be.

It can happen, if you make it happen.

Romney/Ryan: Earn it

Obama: Let the government (taxpayer) give it to you.


Romney/Ryan: Lower taxes on everyone.

Obama: Raise taxes on the rich and sneak some from the "middle class" in AHA.

Romney/Ryan: Balance the budget with spending cuts.

Obama: Balance the budget on the backs of those who provide jobs (a feat that cannot be accomplished, since even taking all they have would not balance the budget).

Romney/Ryan: Modify Social Security and Medicare IN THE FUTURE.

Obama: Pretend not to modify either, while using AHA to gut Medicare and increase cost to middle class.

Romney/Ryan: Rights come from nature and from God.

Obama: Government determines and grants or denies rights.

Romney/Ryan: America's greatness comes from her people.

Obama: America's greatness is overrated but comes from her government.

Romney/Ryan: America should be a leader in the world.

Obama: America should be brought down to the rest of the world's level.

Romney/Ryan: Government should provide equal opportunity, not equal outcomes.

Obama: Government should provide everybody with the same things (remember former USSR?).

Romney/Ryan: Businesses should rise and fall based on their business acumen.

Obama: Large corporations cannot be allowed to fail and government should bail them out (unless they are banks).

Romney/Ryan: The law should apply equally to all.

Obama: The law should apply the way government says it should apply, and it should not apply to government offices such as the Justice Department (think: Fast and Furious).

Romney/Ryan: America should be a Constitutional Republic.

Obama: America should be a quasi-socialist state.

Yep.

HEAR HIM ROAR!




In an attempt to draw a clear contrast between himself and Mitt Romney, President Obama on Thursday touted his supposed “rescue“ of the auto industry and claimed that he intends to do the same for ”every industry”:

“I said, I believe in American workers, I believe in this this American industry, and now the American auto industry has come roaring back,” the president said during a campaign speech in Pueblo, Colo. “Now I want to do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”

Roaring Back?

GM just had its worst quarter in years with sales down 38%. And they still owe billions of dollars to the taxpayer (read:government).

So, let's do that to every business.

What a good idea!

Those leftist dunce-heads have such thick rose colored glasses on that they can't see the immeasurable damage done to their favorite industry, Government Motors.

He says Governor Romney wanted to let GM go bankrupt!

Good on him!

If they had gone bankrupt, they would have been able to restructure themselves in such a way that by now they would have been out of debt (to the American taxpayer, remember?) and would have been able to function like a business is designed to function: at a profit.

And then there's the phrase, "...do the same thing with manufacturing jobs, not just in the auto industry, but in every industry.”



Every industry?  Really? Every one?

Under what system does the government support and control every industry?

Answer: Under socialism.

But the left says he is not a Socialist.

And we're supposed to believe that.

Liberals do.

HOW TO GROW TRUST EIGHT WAYS.

Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance is a memoir by United States President Barack Obama.

It is a poorly written documentary of his life first published in 1995 and then re-published as he was preparing to launch his political career.

If you really want to know about President BO (the child president), this is the book to read, because it reveals what he really is: a consumate liar.

In the book, Obama asserts that his grandfather, Hussein Onyango, was imprisoned and tortured by the British.for helping the anti-colonial Mau Mau rebels in 1949.

That's a lie.

In order to make the story interesting and to make himself look as thought he came from a "long line of enslaved people," Obama made up this ficticious story line. He distorted elements of his own life to fit into a racial narrative. Obama presents himself in his memoir as ‘blacker and more disaffected’ than he really was.

His memoire also claims the father of his Indonesian stepfather, Soewarno Martodihardjo, was killed by Dutch soldiers in the fight for independence.

This is also a lie.

Turns out that it is a concocted myth in almost all respects. In fact, Martodihardjo “fell off a chair at his home while trying to hang drapes, presumable suffering a heart attack.”

President BO (the child president) writes about a friend, Regina, who he said was a symbol of the authentic African-American experience.

That is also a lie.

As it happens, this story was based on Carolina Boss, who is white. She was a socialist activist at Occidental College. Ms. Boss was in the same class with Obama. Regina was the name of her Swiss grandmother.

One of PBO(tcp)'s girl friends was supposedly involved in a racial incident in NewYork.

Well, that's possibly a half-truth, but guess what...

A half-truth is a lie.

Turns out that girlfriend was from Chicago and had never been to New York.

In a pecular narrative, Barak Obama claims to have broken up with his girl friend because she was white (can you say, "racist?"). Then he turned right around and started dating another white girl.

I didn't make that up. He wrote it himself. That was HIS story, not mine.

Another lie.

The memoire, Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, Obama wrote about his father abandoning his mother.

There's another one of those lies.

It was actually his mother who left his father.

Ooops!

In his memoir, Obama mentions he missed out on playing time in high school basketball because he coach preferred players who "play like white boys do."

Frankly, I have never heard of any coach ever making such a decision. Didn't you ever see the movie, "White Men Can't Jump?"

Just one more of his lies.

In fact, Obama had to work hard just to make the team, and race had nothing to do with it.

Well, it is clear that President BO (the child president) has no problem telling lies. He even puts them in writing.

But don't worry! You can trust him. Sure you can. Of course you can!

SOME THINGS ROMNEY MIGHT WANT TO TALK ABOUT

Let's talk about the Obama record.

Notice that as the campaign for November's elections progresses, President BO (the child president) avoids talking about his record. That's because it is so dismal.

He figures he is much safer just attacking the "record" of Mitt Romney, even if it means making stuff up.

Which of these things are true and which are false?

1. The price of gasoline is higher now than it was when President BO (the child president) took office.

2.  The poverty rate for children in the United States is now 22 percent.

3.  In 2007, about 10 percent of all unemployed Americans had been out of work for 52 weeks or longer. Today, that number is above 30 percent.

4.  U.S. housing prices are now down a total of 35 percent from the peak of the housing bubble.

5.  The official U.S. unemployment rate has been above 8 percent for 40 months in a row.

6.  Over 70 percent of all small business owners believe that the U.S. economy is still in a recession.

7. The real median household income has declined by $4,300.00 since Barack Obama entered the White House.

8. At this point, the U.S. national debt is rising by more than 2 million dollars every single minute.

9. Our trade deficit with China in 2011 was $295.5 billion. That was the largest trade deficit that one country has had with another country in the history of the planet.

10. During the first quarter of 2012, U.S. public debt rose by 359.1 billion dollars. U.S. GDP only rose by 142.4 billion dollars.

11. During fiscal 2011, the U.S. government spent over 454 billion dollars just on interest on the national debt.

12. The U.S. national debt has risen by more than 5 trillion dollars since the day that Barack Obama first took office. In a little more than 3 years Obama has added more to the national debt than the first 41 presidents combined.  

The answer is: They are ALL true!  

President BO (the child president) has led us well, hasn't he?

On Friday, for the wonderful "Kiss-in," there were never more than four "couples" and most of the day there were none.

I wonder which group represents the majority thought in Southwest Florida.

EAT MOR CHICKEN

Let me get this straight.

As a business owner, Dan Cathy has the right to "free speech," but if he exercises that right in a way that offends liberals, he will have consequences to pay.

Was that about right?

Seems to me that is a contradiction.

Either that or someone has changed the meaning of "free."

On this very blog, left wingers have told me I am horrible for not allowing them their free speech. Some have even "left" me because I delete their comments.

That's OK. I don't write for them, anyway. I write for me If you don't want to read it, don't.

But freedom of expression with liberals is a one way street. They want their freedom to speak, even vulgarities, ugliness, hatred for the right, and so forth, but they don't want to afford the same freedoms to people who disagree with them.

Gays are planning a "Kiss-In" against Chick-Fil-A today.

Do you think they'll turn out in numbers approaching those who turned out in support of Dan Cathy's right to speak his mind?

Will they hurt the restaurant chains bottom line as much as Wednesday's supporters helped it?

Why are we even fighting this "battle" in America, land of the free and home of the brave?

Are we no longer the land of the free?

Has someone overturned the First Amendment?

ADD IT ALL UP AND IT COMES TO MINUS 10

My last two posts, FINDING THE DEBT SOLUTION and FASCISM - WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT? WHY DOES IT MATTER? drew little fire from the left because the posts were so full of history and facts that the liberals couldn't handle it. Plus, it is a struggle for them to read.

So, what was the point of all of these facts and figures of math and history?

The point is, finding the debt solution is vital to our country's continued existence and Fascism is the governmental road we're headed down right now!

If we follow the liberals' lead, your great grandchildren will be dead and gone before we get our debt under control, and since that is unthinkable in the minds of liberals to begin with, it is very unlikely to happen.

Look. It wasn't only liberals who got us here, it was (and is) a government that believes that although it produces no product it can still confiscate whatever it wants from the citizens for whatever they want it for.

The further point is that if we keep following President BO (the child president) down this path with what is euphemistically being called "executive orders" (really nothing less than edicts), we will soon be led by a despotic dictator.

Go ahead. Call me crazy. You won't be the first.

But look back at my past posts and see how many times I have predicted unintended consequences and have been right.

Fifteen years from now, in a secluded back alley somewhere where we won't be caught and arrested for sedition, you will be allowed to come up to me and say, "Joe, you were right. I wish I had listened to you."

But it will be too late.

FASCISM – WHAT IS IT ALL ABOUT? WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Fascism is a term bandied about by the left in this country to describe the right and by the right to describe the left.

So, what is Fascism really all about?

Fascism was the philosophy of government first espoused by Bonito Mussolini of Italy in 1919.
Other despots have adopted some or all of its views, among them: Hitler of Germany; Franco of Spain; Suharto of Indonesia and several Latin American regimes.

There are specific characteristics of Fascism:

1. A powerful and continuing nationalism. Fascists focus on the use of national symbols as a part of their propaganda efforts. The use of these symbols is usually required of government and citizens alike, or at least encouraged to the point of perceived requirement.

2. Disdain for Human Rights. Fascists try to convince the populace that human rights can be ignored because of the “need” of the people. This is demonstrated through the use of torture, executions, assassinations, lengthy incarcerations, etc.

3. The identification of “enemies” as a unifying cause. The government leads people to become frenzied over the need to eliminate perceived common threats.

4. The military becomes the supreme arm of the government to enforce government control over the people.

5. Under Fascism, the government becomes the ultimate guardian of social institutions such as family and church.

6. Fascism seeks to control mass media, either directly or indirectly. Censorship is very common in Fascism.

7. In Fascist regimes, fear is used as a motivational tool by the government over the masses.

8. The Fascist government adopts religious terms and “adjusts” them to mean what it wants them to mean as best serves the government’s needs.

9. Government and corporations tend to become fused under Fascism. The government accepts the influence of business and helps corporations form a special relationship with it.

10. The labor force is controlled by the government in a Fascist regime. Neither union activity nor individual productivity and initiative is allowed by Fascists.

11. Fascist nations tend to promote and tolerate open hostility toward higher education, intellectuals and the arts. Free expression in any of these areas is suppressed.

12. Next to the military, police are given almost limitless power to enforce laws in a Fascist society.

13. Fascist societies are almost always governed by groups of friends and associates who appoint each other to positions of political power and influence.

14. Under Fascism, elections are controlled and manipulated to achieve the results desired by the government. The use of legislation to control and increase voting numbers is linked to the manipulation of the media to reach legislative goals.

There have been times in history when Fascists have simply walked in and taken over governments. At other time, they have crept in like a thief in the night, slowly adopting one element, then another of the Fascist dogma.

Americans must be ever vigilant about the directions its government takes it. The beginning of that vigilance is education.

Now you are better educated about Fascism.
