Here is what you've been waiting for.All of you who wanted to see Congress's version of the health care bill, here is a link to it.

Have a good time!
Tell me what you think!
ADDENDUM: Well, the site to which the link linked is no longer operative.
I have the 1,000 pages on my computer and will synopsize them on my July 29th post.
"What good is reading the bill if it's a thousand pages and you don't have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you've read the bill?"
ReplyDeleteThat isn't my view. That was 80-year-old, ethically-challenged democrat John Conyers in a speech to the National Press Club last Friday.
LR: I saw that speech in a video.
ReplyDeleteThese guys aren't even real...or at least they don't deal in reality.
Joe
ReplyDeleteI keep getting an error message when I try that link. I tried with Firefox, IE and Opera.
Hmmm. It was working yesterday...I'll see what I can do.
ReplyDeleteI just tried it and it's working for me. I don't know what else to do.
ReplyDeleteIt is a very large web-page...after all the document itself is 1,000 pages long.
Come on, Joe, how could it be 1000 pages long? If it was 1000 pages long it would be difficult for congressmen to read the whole thing before voting on it. Now, that doesn't make sense. And wouldn't that make it difficult for normal citizens to read the whole thing and give input to their representatives? And wouldn't it be too easy for provisions to slip through without due discussion and deliberation? No, Joe, 1000 pages just doesn't make sense within the framework set down by the founders. No, if that bill is 1000 pages long I would have to start wondering about the motivations and honesty of our great leaders in Washington.
ReplyDeleteSnaggletoothie: How right you are. Be sure to read my July 29th post. It will solve the "long read" issue.
ReplyDeleteJoe, I can't get it either. I get a message that says that website doesn't exist.
ReplyDeletePerhaps someone deleted it when they found it was accessible to the public.
I downloaded the file to my computer. I read about 20% of it and scanned the rest.
ReplyDeleteIf you want me to send you a copy drop me a line at ablur@live.com and request a copy. I will happily email it to you.
OK! I have discovered that the website on which I read the bill is no longer in service.
ReplyDeleteSomebody, somewhere does not want us to help fulfil President BO's campaign promise of transparency and the one about reading bills before they are voted on.
I question the timing.
ReplyDeleteThat's what I said, Joe.
